San Diego Early/Middle College SDEMC is a San Diego Unified high school on the campus of San Diego City College It is an early college program that prepares students in the 9th and 10th grades to take a combination of high school and college courses in the 11th and 12th grades Students earn both high school and college credit for some college courses
4. SDEMC students are academic achievers This year, San Diego Early/Middle College scored 804 on California’s Academic Performance Index (API). The API uses the CA State Standards Tests and the CA High School Exit Exam as measures. Only five other district high schools (out of 35) in San Diego Unified scored above 800.
5. High school and college courses Students take high school classes in the ninth and tenth grades In the 11th and 12th grades, students take two college courses and four high school courses
6. College Units In addition to a high school diploma, SDEMC students can earn up to one year of college credit, at no additional cost to the student San Diego City College does not require SDEMC to pay college fees The school district pays for college textbooks

12. Tutoring SDEMC offers tutoring and tutorial groups before school and after school Students can get tutoring in both their high school and college courses
