BeeGIS is a digital field mapping application developed for tablet PCs and ultramobile PCs to be used with GPS. It allows users to take geotagged notes, drawings, and photos on maps in the field and supports reprojecting and analyzing the collected data in the office. Key features include a GPS tool to add points, lines and polygons to layers from GPS data and an annotation layer to draw on maps. It has improved upon a previous academic project called Map It by being open source and cross-platform.
