2. Emotions are not just the fuel
that powers the psychological
mechanism of a reasoning
creature, they are parts, highly
complex and messy parts, of
this creature's reasoning
itself."
Martha Nussbaum
4. Our evolving view of
leadership...
From...
demanding to collaborative
exclusive to inclusive
self-serving to other-serving
force to empowerment
from one-dimensional to multi-dimensional
5. What this new view
(awareness) now
demands of us...
awareness about our own social & emotional health
fortification of our own social & emotional health
leading by example by modeling heart-mind
integration
co-creating safe spaces and environments for
colleagues and those you lead
7. Leadership Mindsets..
First introduced to "us" via business leaders, visionaries,
millionaires, and motivational writers.
Because of changes in:
the economy, our struggling educational system,
diversity/complexity of our societies, globalization of
everything, technology, scientific discoveries, our own
awareness about our shared humanity, leadership
mindsets are necessary in all domains of life.
8. Growth mindset refers to the belief that working hard and persisting
will help you improve at anything, and that abilities are not fixed at
birth.
Self-efficacy refers to a sense of confidence that you are capable of
achieving what you set out to do.
Self-management refers to productive habits such as organization
and delaying gratification.
Social awareness is defined as the ability to work in a diverse group,
to recognize sources of support and to have empathy for others.
