- What makes Catholic schools “Catholic?” They are Catholic not because there is a crucifix in the room, not because our kids wear uniforms. They are Catholic because our schools share our faith, they live our values, including our social justice values.
- Word – Scriptures, tradition, religious ed, etc. Worship – Sacraments, prayer, etc. World -- social mission, action for social justice
- Rooted in the Bible Continually developed in Catholic Social Teaching -- Seeing, judging, acting
- creation, covenant, community the challenge of the prophets "the widows, orphans and aliens” the example of Jesus

- Remember the “widows, orphans, and aliens.” A necessary element of the common good
- Work has dignity because it is performed by the human person. People are more important than things; labor is more important than capital.
