3. A day in the life of a 5th grader
Arrive, unpack, morning prayers over the PA,
morning meeting where we talk about the current
events, go over our schedule for the day, and students
may share.
Reading and Math are always in the morning,
followed by lunch and recess, a read aloud, and
Writing, Religion, and Science/Social Studies in the
afternoon.
The day ends with afternoon prayers over the PA, and
our own class intentions.

7. Accelerated Reader
All students have taken their STAR test and been
given their AR reading levels and goal.
Students are required to meet their point goal each
quarter. This includes one non-fiction book the first
quarter and two non-fiction books in quarters 2,3, &
4.
Students must pass their AR tests with an average of
80% or better.
Reading every night will help students stay on track
to meet their goal.
8. Homework
Reading Logs
Must be completed daily
20 minutes of reading, signed by a parent
Math Homework
Will vary depending on the lesson
Other subjects- will vary depending on the unit and
lesson
Please try to help your child remember to do their
homework each night.
10. Wanted!
We are in need of scissors, glue and colored pencils.
We would like to start field trips, but need to have all
of the driver paperwork to the office.
