2. Is it worth the effort?
I am enough of a realist to understand that I
can't reach every student. But, I am more of
an optimist to get up every morning and try.

14. The contest: Three schools are teamed by
GVC into a single team. That team works
together to create a website about a world
issue that they have chosen collaboratively.
This is a full year commitment which
involves knowing how to create a website.
Schools also need strong collaboration
skills, as the 3 schools in each team are
separated geographically, but need to work
together as one.
More information can be found on our wiki
at: http://gvc13-teachers-lounge.wikispaces.

Any of the resources we have on our sites
are available to anyone who wishes to use
them.
GVC Program Manager: Janet Barnstable
http://www.virtualclassroom.org/ has two main
divisions: a web design contest and a
clubhouse.
The clubhouse: A school or class joins and
chooses the projects in which they wish to
participate. This can be done on their own time
schedule and does not have to involve working
with any other school. The projects are published
on our wiki at: http://gvc-clubhouse.wikispaces.
com/
Favorites among the students are the Literature
Corner and International Recipes, but they are
equally interested in the more serious topics such
as Peace, Holocaust Remembrance, and Caring
for Our World.
