2. Issue Partner wanted to get the pre-sales consulting help from Global Partner Services Team (GPS) while proposing a Social Networking Web Solution to his customer on Windows Azure Platform. They wanted us to help them with the right architecture design for Windows Azure Platform.

3. Background of Issue They were having a tough time in deciding the right technology and design pattern for their solution. They wanted to understand the pros and cons of Silverlight and ASP.NET MVC / HTML 5 based architecture on Windows Azure Platform and at the same time wanted a comparison on MVVM and MVC and HTML 5 over SL to run the solution on Windows Azure.

4. Business Impact They won a business deal of 100K (USD) -this was the approximate initial amount and would increase later. They decided to use Windows Azure Platform for the scalability and high-availability and chose to go with ASP.NET MVC based architecture.

7. Resolution Explanation Partner proposed the ASP.NET MVC based architecture to his customer and decided to go with the same architecture design to run their solution on Windows Azure Platform. This Social Networking Solution is expected to have a large user base and so they expected to have a scalable solution. Windows Azure Platform provided scalability and high-availability capabilities and it was a key in choosing this platform.
