2. Unit Summary This unit is designed for 8th grade English Language Arts class. This is unit is designed for a middle class suburban Middle School for a class that consists of a variety of students. Students will learn about different types of writing including narrative writing, professional writing, letter writing, expository writing, and persuasive writing. Students will write in various forms to express understanding of different styles and contexts of writing: including personal and business letters, a narrative, persuasive letter, and an expository letter. All assignments will be related to the students’ future.
