A binary digit is called a bit

A group of 8 bits is called a byte

The number of bits that a digital computer can
 process in parallel at a time is called word
 length.

 The commonly used word lengths are: 8, 16, 32
  or 64 or more.

 It is a measurement to compute the power of a
  computer.

 Millions of Instructions Per Second (MIPS).
