2. My Motivation…
Graduation was my motivation for this class. With
only so many units left to graduate, I was
determined to add as many classes as I needed to
fulfill the units needed. I took an interest due to the
title of the class “How 2 Learn w/ ur iPod”, I did
not have a clue on what to expect.
3. My Learning Preference
• The personal learning preferences survey scores concluded
that my learning styles were 7 on active, which tells me that I
like to participate actively with what I am learning. I scored a 5
on sensing because I learn better with facts rather than
theories. Scored 3 for verbal, due to the fact that I enjoy group
work and retain more information by listening and repeating.
Lastly, I scored 3 on sequential because I take information
given to me, step by step, to find a solution . From these
scores I realized that I learn more easily in a teaching
environments.
4. Thoughts on Learning
Preferences..
• I really enjoyed that we were able to figure
out our learning preferences in the
beginning of class because it gives
students a focus on the best way we can
achieve success according to OUR style
of learning and no one else’s.
5. Learning Warrior
• I chose the Learning Warrior pathway at the beginning of
class because with this pathway I was able to obtain a greater
understanding of technology I was already using. I wanted to
get a deeper investigation into fewer technologies. With this
pathway, I was able to indeed improve my performance in
other courses, like my Spanish classes for my major.
Choosing to be a Learning Warrior gave me the opportunity to
discover and learn more information on technologies I already
had.
6. Activities
• The activities from this course contributed a lot to my way of learning
by giving me a chance to explore technologies in greater depth. To
begin with, the quizzes were the start of the contribution because I
was able to inform myself better on how to use each technology and
more aware of apps. From the mini lectures in class I was able to
succeed in level 2 and 3 activities because I was able to apply the
concepts learned to my personal learning style and personal life. By
evaluating each technology and applying it to my life, I now know
what works best for me. Being able to communicate with our
professors, from the introduction to the end, was also a great
advantage to my learning.
7. Top Three Technologies
1. The first of my top three technologies is iPods and mobile
devices to enhance my personal learning. Going over the
quizzes and mini lectures, gave me some insight on how I can
use it for flash cards and study tools. I use my iPod to stay
organized and it gives me a chance to evaluate how I learn and
how I can apply it to my classes. I especially used it for my
Spanish classes as a study guide and tool. The mobile device
quest accommodates both my active and verbal learning styles
because I can review almost all my class work through my iPod
and review as much as I want.
8. Top Three Technologies

2. The second of my top technologies is social bookmarking because it
also accommodates my active and sensing learning. I am able to
connect and communicate with other people via the social bookmaking
site Delicious. I can also use sites like Delicious, to interact with my
classmates and share important concepts, such as websites or
documents. Sites that keep me engaged and comment on information I
am learning from class.
9. Top Three Technologies
cont.
• The third of my top three technologies , which I enjoyed a lot, is
podcasts in the media department for interactive learning. I enjoyed
this one because I was able to better familiarize with how to use
podcasts as a study tool for my courses. This technology mostly
accommodates the verbal part of my learning because I can listen or
watch a podcast as many times as I need to. I was interested in
learning more about this technology because many of my professors
already use podcast for lecturing and I wanted review my notes in a
different way. Podcasts help me achieve a greater way of learning
because I interact with with my peers and professors.
10. Experiences with the
technologies
•
I believe this class is great to take in high school or as a freshman in college
because, with so many technologies around us, the only way to use them effectively
is to know how we can learn from each one to be able to succeed in a high school or
college setting. I have learned a lot from this course and not just about how to learn
but also the way I personally learn and how I can apply it to my daily life. I am really
happy I chose to take this class because I was able to learn so much on know
technologies. I will continue to use my iPod to create notes and flashcard, social
bookmarking to collaborate with other students and people. Lastly I will use podcasts
as a learning tool as well. The experience has defiantly been one of a kind! The class
forums help me learn and understand the class and it is great we were able to
contribute to others learning styles.
11. Physiological factors and
learning practices
•
Every since I was a kid my parents always had me maintain a healthy lifestyle but
never taught me to control my stress level or what to do when I got nervous when
speaking in front of my classmates. I chose to get a deeper understanding of the
respiratory and nervous system. I use to really freak out and my heart would start to
race in class just knowing I had a presentation that day. Then when I presented I
would be shaky and super nervous. After learning about these two systems, I am able
to control both. I have improved in my Spanish 543, where most of our exams are
oral and written based. I don’t stress out or get overwhelmed like I use to and its
really a great feeling because it was very difficult for me to focus on my studies.
Knowing about physiological aspects of learning is key to succeed because I now
allow myself to take a breather and continue with class.
12. What I will take with me from
this class..
•
I will use what I learned from this unique class for many of the adventures to come
after I graduate. Each strategy that we have come in contact with to better my
learning has opened multiple doors for me not just in class but for when I go out into
the “real world”. Using the iPod, iPhone, social bookmarking and podcasts as a
learning tool, have help me immensely by giving me the opportunity to understand
not only what fits best for my learning style but what fits best for me as an individual. I
will intergrade all aspects of this class to enhance the teaching career I will eventually
undertake. Without this class I don’t know how I would be able to stand in front of 20
students all looking up at me. I know that when I am in my career pathway I will most
likely teach technologies and learning practices to my students on day to better
enhance their learning.

My experience as a
Learning Warriorwhile to
At first when looking over the syllabus, it took me a
understand the concept of this class. I read and reread the course
work and I thought “what did I get myself into”, but after completing
the work and truly learning at a different level, I would recommend
this class to all students. My experience as a learning warrior was
great because I was able to apply knowledge I already knew but in
greater depth. This class has given me more than the units I need to
graduate, it has given me a life lesson that I can’t say about a lot of
classes I have taken at State. I am truly grateful that I was given to
take this class because the professors and leaners made it both
beneficial and interesting to follow.
