Verb To Be ( am, is ,are) activity

*As an introduction ,I will
explain the lesson and provide the
students with examples and
activities.

    Activity plan:
The purpose of the activity:
 1) To help the students to know the use of
am, is ,are in a sentence.
2) To give them the chance to practice what
they have learned during the lesson
3) To measure their level of understanding.
Benefit of the activity:
1)Students will be able to make a
sentence using verb to be.
2)Students will be able to make the
negative form of verb to be in
appropriate way.

 We can use am , is ,are according to the following
situations:
 Am is used with I as the subject.
 For example:
 I am a teacher .

 Are is used with we/you/they as a subject.
 For example:
 They are happy.


 Is is used with he/she/it as a subject.
 For example:
 It is cold here.
Negative form+ short form:
subject + verb + not +object = negative form
         Subject       Negative     Short form    Object

            I          am not         I’m not    a teacher

           She          is not         isn't     a nurse

           He           is not         isn't     a singer

            It          is not         isn't       cold

          They         are not        aren't       great

           We          are not        aren't       late
