On April 20, 2013 Mano a Mano hosted its 4th annual Festival Bolivia event. The focus of the event was to support Mano a Mano's distribution program to ship donated surplus supplies from the US to support our projects in Bolivia, as well as to recognize our local heroes. In our first 3 years, Mano a Mano was able to complete 3 new projects thanks to the support of Festival Bolivia attendees.

“COLLPANA RESERVOIR” A REALITY.
The expanded reservoir holds 40,000 cubic
meters of water, more than 8 times the
original capacity, and water is available year-
round rather than 3-4 months of water
previously.

Emergency Air Rescues
• In 2012 Mano a Mano
Aviation provided:
– 377 emergency flights
– 21 jornadas (weekend
health clinics)
• Mano a Mano has
flown 1,665
emergency flights
and provided 168
jornadas from 2005-
2012

13. Recent emergency flight
• A newborn child in Oruro
encountered complications
shortly after birth and had to be
transported to the hospital in
Cochabamba that was capable of
dealing with her condition.
• The hospital was a 5-6 hour drive
away over horrible roads and
even during the short distance to
the Oruro airport the child
suffered a cardiac arrest; she had
to be resuscitated by emergency
medical personnel.
• The child was flown to
Cochabamba where she received
immediate treatment. It took 30
minutes by plane as opposed to a
5-hour drive.
• The child survived.
