BEXEL Manager - Atualização do projeto
1.
2. PROJECT LIFECYCLE
• During each phase, the federated BIM
model can get updated
• Updates are usually more frequent in
earlier stages of project development
• BIM elements can be added, modified
or even removed
• It is important to maintain BIM analysis
data regardless of changes in the
model
3. PROJECT STRUCTURE
Super Project
• Represents a group of Project Versions
• Contains only basic information (name,
description, ID)
• Does not contain BIM model itself
Project Version
• Represents one instance of the project
• Identified by ID and Version Name
(description is optional)
• Contains entire federated BIM model and
associated analysis data
Example of Super Project and Project Version in Bexel Manager
4. PROJECT UPDATE OVERVIEW
User can choose which part of the federated BIM model gets updated
User can control what happens with removed elements during the update
All affected smart selection sets get automatically updated
All affected QTO and custom breakdown structures get automatically updated
All affected clash jobs get automatically marked for reevaluation
All affected cost assignments get automatically adjusted for changes
All affected schedules and tasks with link rules get automatically updated
5. PROJECT UPDATE
• Project can be updated with one or multiple IFC or
BX3 files simultaneously (batch)
• User can choose whether to keep or delete the
elements that have been removed
• Once updated, a new project version is created
• The previous project version is left intact and can be
accessed at any time
6. PROJECT UPDATE - ELEMENTS
• Elements are matched using their unique
IDs
• Additional element data such as
properties, materials and relations are
updated as well
• Newly added, removed or updated
elements are grouped in dedicated
selection sets and can be easily isolated
• All groups, breakdowns and other element
dependent BIM analysis data such as cost,
schedule and BOQ are automatically
updated to reflect the changes in the
model
7. PROJECT UPDATE – SELECTION SETS
• Smart selection sets are automatically updated
to reflect the changed BIM model
• E.g. 1 If a selection set is targeting all Walls
on the project, and a new wall is added in
the project, it will be automatically added to
that selection set as well
• E.g. 2 If a selection set is targeting all
elements with Area > 100m2 and an
element got its Area increased from 90m2
to 110m2, it will automatically be added to
that selection set
• If an element is deleted, it will be removed from
all associated selection sets
• Changes in selection sets will automatically
trigger changes in all BIM modules which depend
on it (QTO, clash detection, schedule etc.)
MODELUPDATE
8. PROJECT UPDATE – QTO/CBS
• Newly added elements will be automatically distributed in Quantity Takeoff (QTO) and Custom
Breakdowns (CBS) based on their rules
• Updated element quantities will be automatically reflected in associated QTO/CBS
• Deleted elements will be removed from all associated QTO/CBS automatically
MODEL UPDATE
QTOs are
automatically
updated
9. PROJECT UPDATE – CLASH DETECTION
• Clashes which contain elements with changed
geometry will automatically be flagged and clash
warning will be raised inside a clash job
• Clash job needs to be run again manually due to
potential time complexity of reevaluating the
clashes again
• Once reevaluated, the specific clash warning will be
cleared
• The updated clashes can now either be resolved, in
which case they automatically get the status
Resolved, or they can stay Active
• Deleted elements will cause all associated clashes
to be removed automatically

10. PROJECT UPDATE – COST ASSIGNMENTS
• Elements with changed quantities will automatically update associated cost assignment’s quantities and
cost
• Changes in cost assignments will automatically trigger changes in all BIM modules which depend on it
(schedule etc.)
• Deleted elements will be removed from all associated cost assignments
• If user decided to preserve deleted elements, they can be easily located in dedicated selection set which
can then be used to filter out associated cost assignments before actually deleting elements
MODELUPDATE
Round concrete columns size was changed
from 45cm to 60cm. All cost assignments were
automatically updated.
11. PROJECT UPDATE - SCHEDULE
• Newly added elements will automatically be
distributed in associated tasks and activities if
task link rules are specified
• Elements with changed quantities will
automatically reflect in tasks either directly or
indirectly (through changes in selection sets,
cost assignments etc.)
• Deleted elements will be removed from all
associated tasks automatically
• If user decided to preserve deleted elements,
they can be easily located in dedicated
selection set which can then be used to filter
out associated tasks before actually deleting
elements
• Schedule progress entries will remain
unaffected by changes in BIM model as they
represent work that is already completed
