Extended Definition Of Love
Love can be very hurtful, painful, and stressful sometimes and some people really need to know
how to handle love. From my opinion love means to have the most positive feelings for someone.
Having feelings for someone is a good thing. People do not understand the full meaning of love. The
full meaning of love is giving your all and putting trust in someone that really love certain people.
Some synonyms for love are fondness, tenderness, warmth, intimacy.
The first synonym is fondness. Fondness means caring or having the feeling for someone who are
really attached to somebody. For example some people have a fondness for their family. Another
example is people have a fondness with their dog. So mainly this word can be defined in so many
ways. People also use this word only if they are attached to someone like their best friend or spouse.

Tenderness means being nice to people and having a good heart for people when they are going
through something. For example there was a tenderness in the way she looked at him that had
amazed him. This word can be used in many different ways. The tenderness comes from your heart
which can always show how the way you look at somebody. People has different opinions on how
they use the word tenderness. There are many different signs for tenderness as well but people just
use them in a different way.
The third synonym is warmth. Warmth means to be safe around somebody that you trust or feel
comfortable with being around. Some people say they have the warmth with being around certain
people. For example she spoke her mind with great warmth. People use warmth in many different
ways. Some people say that they have warmth with their blankets. From my opinion what this
word means to me is being touch by somebody like you can feel their heart. Being able to feel their
heart is a good feeling to have. Warmth is a strong word to use for a relationship or especially when
you are trying to get out of

Essay About My English Class
I can remember seeing that I had to take an English class my first semester of college. I was
already overwhelmed with starting college, and having to write college essays made me get even
more nervous. I sat down with my mom and decided to look at the English classes available, and I
finally decided that I had to take an evening class to make it work in my schedule. The first day of
English came and now looking back it was not as bad as I thought. It made me a better writer and be
where I am today. It may have taken me some time to get where I am today, but at least I am on
the right track. English Composition helped me realize that I am my own author and have strengths
that I did not realize I had. When I first started college I did not know what to expect with an
English class. I liked writing about topics that interested me, but high school did not allow me to do
that. I took American History and we would have to write...show more content...
I learned many techniques from my professor. He helped me realize that it is okay to have your
own opinion as long as you back it up. He showed me that I am an author when I did not think I
was. He also told us to read our essays out loud when we proofread, and I always did this
technique before submitting all my essays. I can remember having to write my first essay and I
was scared, because I felt like I had to get a good grade. I started thinking about what tools I could
use to help me, and I decided to go to The Learning Center to help with my essay. When I went
there they would make edits to my essay and then explain what I should change. The tutor noticed I
used multiple choppy sentences and commas in spots there should not be. Sometimes I would even
go twice to make sure I did not miss any minor mistakes. Going there helped me feel more confident
as a writer and I learned from my mistakes. I had many helpful techniques from multiple people that
shaped me into the writer I am

Language And Cultural Identity Essay
How language is important in Maintaining cultural identity
Over the last few decades, the relationship between language and cultural identities have become a
preferred topic in learning the importance of language in maintaining cultural identity. The question
that keeps popping up concerns, the role of language in keeping these social aspects. For instance,
how language is important in maintaining cultural identity when people migrate from one nation to
another. Perhaps, when people immigrate to a new country their cultural identity is likely to change
due to the nature of the new environment. In this paper, will look at the role of language in
maintaining cultural identity, and what impact language and culture have on identity when people

Similarly, Banks (1988,), define "a cluster of attributes such as values, beliefs, behaviour patterns and
symbols unique to a particular human group" p. 261. Both researchers have similar identical analyse
to express their study towards culture and identity. Furthermore, Goodenough considers culture as is
made up of the concepts, beliefs, and principles of action and organization. In fact, culture is not a
motionless object, but instead it has the power to acquire new traits and forms. Culture
transformation can occur from one generation to another or from one geographical location to
another. This means that culture is composed of shared custom, believes, codes of behaviours and
statements that could clearly discriminate from sociocultural group to another.
In view of all this, Anthropologist and social scientists essentially agree that sharing a culture
between a crowd of people means being able to operate efficiently in that group. This means that
culture can determine one's identity if a person is able to operate effectively in a certain group. In
addition to this, social scientist has urged that changes in languages often reflect as the changing
value of our culture. This clearly indicates that, language is more than a culture which means the
language you speak determines your religious belief and cultural identity. So, religion and language
are both correspondingly similar to ethnicity and patriotism, they play an

The Plague
The Black Death
"The Black Death" is known as the worst natural disaster in European history. The plague spread
throughout Europe from 1346–1352. Those who survived lived in constant fear of the plague's return
and it did not disappear until the 1600s. Not only were the effects devastating at the time of
infection, but during the aftermath as well. "The Black Death" of the fourteenth century dramatically
altered Europe's social and economic structure.
The plague was spread by fleas, which were not effected by the disease. Fleas first infected the rats,
which lived off garbage and sewage. The rats then spread the infection to the humans. Rats were a
common sight in the cities, due to the poor sanitary conditions, so no one...show more content...
"The Black Death" alone was not the only factor that was responsible for the social and economic
change although it was the most important (Ziegler 234). Even without "The Black Death"
continued deterioration in Europe would have been likely. The social and economic change had
already set in well before 1346. For at least twenty–five years before "The Black Death," exports,
agricultural production, and the area of cultivated land had all been shrinking. "The Black Death"
contributed a large part to all of this destruction and led to important changes in the social and
economic structure of the country (Ziegler 234–235). The plague touched every aspect of social life
(Herlihy 19). There was hardly a generation that was not affected by the plague
(www.jefferson.village.virginia.edu). Families were set against each other– the well rejecting the
sick (www.byu.edu). Families left each other in fear. Many people died without anyone looking after
them. When the plague appeared in a house, frightened people abandoned the house and fled to
another (www.jefferson.village.virginia.edu). Due to this, the plague spread more rapidly because
people were not aware that being in the same house with the infected person had already exposed
them to it. Physicians could not be found because they had also died. Physicians who could be found
wanted large sums of money before they entered the house (www.jefferson.village.virginia.edu).

Speech On Attack On Titan
Have you ever dreamed to stay in a place where in you cannot enjoy because of the wall? Behind
that wall, there are titans living in it? Do you think it's the best place for you to live in? Now, if
you want to survive, you have to be very brilliant enough to ensure that titans won't bite you or else,
you'll die, worst, in some cases; you will be one of them. So, what's your plan?
Attack on titan is a Japanese manga series. It is written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. It was
published on September 9, 2009 in Kodansha's Bessatsu ShЕЌnen Magazine. The good thing is that
it has been collected 19 tankЕЌbon volumes on April 2016. The world of titan is really not that easy

Within 100 years, the population has managed to survive because of a multi–walled city. This can
help and keep the Titans at bay. Actually, almost people living in that area are trained in order to
patrol the perimeter and look for a way to ensure that the wall will not be demolished by their foe.
Eren, Mikasa, and Armin are childhood friends, they have lived peacefully behind the wall, but when
Titan appears, smashing and demolishing the wall, their lives were changed. They joined the military
in order for them to fight those gigantic humanoids after their hometown was invaded, and that day
Eren's mother was eaten. These Titans are giant humanoid. They figured about 3–15 meters (10–50

sunlight. Actually, they do not appear to look for food, but they eat humans once it was on their
sight. Without reason, they eat human alive. Aside from that, these creatures have no digestive tract.
What will happen is that once they have eaten their victim, they will then vomit their meal into
slimy balls, or called as "hairballs". When you look at their skin, you can see that it is tough, and
hard to penetrate. Now, what good about them is that they regenerate from injuries, and then ensure

Anesthesia Essay examples
Anesthesia was developed in order to block or prevent pain during medical procedures. Anesthesia
has been the backbone of the medical world for around 100 years now. Early anesthetics were
primitive and many patients simply did not trust anesthetics. Anesthesia is still a risky process even
in todays advanced medical world. Anesthesia is not used to treat or diagnose any specific disease;
the sole purpose is to aid both the patient and surgeon through procedures. However, anesthesia is
used in different ways based on the magnitude of the procedure. There are three levels of anesthesia
which include; local, regional, and general anesthesia. An anesthesiologist determines which type of
anesthesia will be needed. Local anesthesia...show more content...
For regional anesthesia, a local anesthetic will be injected into a nerve.[1] The anesthetic will then
affect a series of nerves. The anesthetic blocks pain by interrupting nerve transmissions, also known
as action potentials.[3] Action potentials occur at a constant rate within the body. Action potentials
occur between nerve cells and all the body to feel pain. A nerve cell has a negative charge at a
resting state due to negatively charged proteins within the cell.[3] Although the inside of the cell
contains positively charged potassium ions as well, overall the charge is still negative. Along with
potassium on the inside of the cell, positively charged sodium ions are located around the exterior of
the cell.[3] When an action potential occurs, the cell becomes even more negatively charged. In turn,
this causes sodium transport molecules in the membrane of the cell to open.[3] Sodium will then
enter the cell during active transport. The positively charged sodium will cancel out the negatively
charged active potential which will depolarize the cell. This allows neurotransmitters to transfer from
cell to cell.[3] These neurotransmitters are what allows the body to feel pain. Local anesthetics work
by diffusing through nerve fibers. Once they've reached the cells, they block the sodium transport
molecules in the cell.[2] Therefore neurotransmitters cannot transfer information from cell to cell
and the feeling of

What is greed? I think of the word greed and a sense of instability comes to my mind. Instability
reminds me of a symbol of lacking stability of maturity around the world. I do not hear the word
greed very often however I experience it. People are unaware of being greedy. It has a strong,
disgusting, passive meaning to it. Greed represents a tacky, ignoble person who expects to receive
everything that has great value. Greed is known as the desire for money, popularity or fame or even
a higher authority of something. Being greedy is trying to succeed happiness and satisfaction for

Argumentative Essay On Special Education
Introducation
Special Education is a topic of controversy with many advocates fighting for the justice children and
adults with special needs so rightfully deserve. With laws being passed and modified so frequently, it
is important that the educators being brought into the world have an extensive knowledge of the
developmental needs of many different types of children. With this knowledge and their constant
measures to keep up to date with the fast–moving world of education, they will be able to deliver an
appropriate atmosphere that is in accordance with the law that ensures ethical practices and
guidelines are always being followed.
Legislative, Thoerietical, Historical
Our country's Legislative system has set many laws in place to protect the educational rights of all
students, which allows for students to have a greater opportunity for educational success with
funding levels varying between the states. Hooper and Umansky's book, Young Children with
Special Needs, states that the majority of early childhood intervention programs began under the
"umbrella of Maternal and Child Health (MCH)," which was put into place in 1935 in accordance
with the Social Security Act. The Americans with Disabilities Act and theIndividuals with
Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) are two programs stemming from this historical piece of
legislation. The Americans with Disabilities Act was an anti–discrimination law that allowed for
more students to have access to certain facilities and resources giving them a better chance to
succeed in their education. IDEA made it mandatory for the state to provide special education
service programs for children between the ages of three and five. The parents with children who
are included in IDEA typically receive grants to help them fund their child's education. Another
piece of legislation that is widely utilized in classrooms today is the Individualized Family
Service Plan (IFSP). This plan develops a plan of action for the family with children that receive
special education services and allows the information to further assist the child beyond school
grounds. In use today is the Affordable Care Act (2012) that allowed for programs to be funded that
look to prevent and care for children

Essay about Running
Running is very good for humans in many different ways. It is a great way to get exercise, and a
great way to meet new people. There are many positives, and some negatives, it is easy, enjoyable
and makes humans more social, you can do it at anytime, and it relieves stress rather than give stress.
Although there are some negatives with running, there are also many positives. Many people run
because of the health reasons. It is good for the heart and lungs and people run in the fresh air.

there are more positives to running. Running is easy, enjoyable and is very social. Many people
see running as a good place to meet new people and enjoyable to do, it is also one of the easiest
ways to exercise. Running can be very fun, it is easy because you need no experience to run.
Training for races is also fun it can be done by men and women, girls and boys at any age. You
can meet new people who can be very social able, you can meet new people by either running by
yourself or with a friend or spouse. People of all sizes and races and ages can run it is a great way
to meet new people and a great way to exercise. Running is a great way to exercise and you could
do it anytime and anywhere. People can run either on streets or on paths, but paths are a bit more
ideal. Running is more ideal to do on hard surfaces, but is better exercise if you do it on uneven
ground. You can run too fast and you can run too far but whether you run fast or far you are still
running and are still getting exercise. To prevent getting hurt while running

Good Parenting Essay
Good Parenting
What makes a good parent? People have always tired to find out the answer, because what makes a
good parent makes a good family and what makes a good family makes a good society and finally
what makes a good society makes the world we live in a good one. Actually it is family where all
the social ills come from. It is family that predetermines what kind of society we will have
tomorrow, because the society of tomorrow will be born to and moulded in the family of today. So
if we want to find out what makes a good parent and try to change the society we'll be living in
we've got to start right now. So let's start.
What makes a good parent? Many people think that it is impossible to answer this question, because

But as soon as children start feeling that their parents care too much, they try to get back at them
and do just what their parents don't want them to do. On the other hand kids who face lack of
freedom may end up turning into introverts afraid to speak to other people or not as social (which is
not a bad thing though).
I believe that next thing any parent must not forget about is trust. Being consistent with your child is
of paramount importance because that's how trust is supported. Being consistent is not changing the
rules half way through the game. Being consistent is not promising rewards that kids will never see.
Being consistent is not threatening punishment without carrying it through. From the very first day
on Earth children put trust in their parents and it must not be betrayed because once it is, once
children find out they have been lied to, you will have to literally put yourself out to win it back.
Communication. Being able to communicate well builds confidence and charisma. Parents should
not be afraid to talk to their children. They should not jump down through their throat when they are
curious about something either no matter how stupid it may seem. Parents should be able to look
at everyday things and events through the eyes of their children who are new in this world and
have little knowledge of it. Everyday experiences can give children a wonderful chance to explore
and learn and it must not be taken from them by their

In today's world, we find people lacking sensitivity which is manifest in terms of gender violence

life. In the context of late capitalism and affluent society, literature has to be reinvented to serve
the interest of humanity that is at crossroads."(1) When this love for literature is developed, the
rest follows suit and there is no need for the teacher to thrust English on the student. The learning
will happen automatically and he/she would also evolve as a fuller human being. It is because
today's world is very materialistic and prosaic. The curriculum should add spice to the Technical
English syllabus, make it more lovable and rename it, if necessary. Technical English should be
extended to at least 4 semesters and its significance in today's world of communication must be sent
across as an important message to the learner. Each semester can be devoted for a particular skill
(LSRW) and prose, poetry, drama and such related genres have to be subtly introduced to the young
learner. There would be speculations about dealing with high achievers who are very proficient in
the language. For such students, the curriculum can be widened to include tougher aspects of
language and literature which would be a challenge

Why High School Shouldn't Be Extended
The topic of this essay is a debate in whether all high schools should be extended 2 years longer
instead of being an education of just four years. The part I take in this debate would be that I
disagree; I think high school should remain as a four year educational system and should not be
extended. In this essay I will be providing you with opinions of others and opinions of my own to
support my point of view on why I strongly disagree with this debate. I will also be including on how
high school lasting only four year has its negative effects too. Last but not least I will include on
what authors have to say about this debate. I personally think that high school only lasting four
years is a reasonable amount of years. In this whole four year process, high school provides you
with the educational information and level you are expected to obtain. I like the idea that when
you are done with high school you are the age of 18 and legally you can make your own grown up
decisions. I also like how this process isn't so long they balanced on how you can get the education
you need in that small amount of time. Being a high school student I disagree that school shouldn't
be extended for two more years I strongly think that four years is a good amount of years to learn
the information that is needed to learn during high school. If school were to be extended for two
more years the rate of

Gender Inequality In Mean Girls
Real life examples of gender inequality do sort of hamper the hopes of those wishing for better in
the near future, as it will take a while for the pay gap between men and women to be closed and
gender norms will be even harder to break; nonetheless, the three main films being discussed in
this paper do give people a bit of hope that women may transcend their limits in due time. Indeed,
some already are doing this. In Flame, the titular character takes the initiative on things, such as
joining the army. While she is on the same level as men and is even acknowledged towards the end
of the film, she does go into war mainly for the purpose of finding a man. Still, her mannerisms and
actions do show that she is a more independent female. Flame's...show more content...
Many westerners critique the African way of life. Polygamous marriages in particular are a no–no,
although these marriages actually have several advantages. Westerners also commonly blame the
African countries' governments for gender inequality, but Nnaemeka argues that patriarchy is to
blame for gender inequality. The social customs that women adopt in order to please men and fit
into society may also be to blame for the stress that many women feel. Women characters in O
HerГіi, The Night of Truth, and Flame all try to keep up their physical appearances, nurture
children, and follow men to an extent. Nonetheless, some of the same women characters that
adhere to some social rules also break some of the social rules. Each director is trying to show
African women in a new light. Despite the fact that one's job should not be assigned based on
gender, women are more likely to care for soldiers hiding out than actually fighting in wars. They
still are in danger during war, however, and they account for many of the (civilian) deaths caused by
war. Even those that are not killed put their lives in jeopardy when they allow soldiers to hide out.
Women are probably the most important gender/sex of human beings. They can do many things that
men do as well as things that men cannot do. If anything, the social structure should be

The Effects of Rising Sea Levels Essay
The Effects of Rising Sea Levels
Introduction:
Over the last several decades, climate change has evolved from a polarizing discussion to what will
likely be the largest collaborative research project of our generation. While many aspects of climate
change are still misunderstood, there is little debate that the concentration of carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere is rising at an alarming rate. This rise is considered the main cause behind an increase in
global temperature, which has set in motion a chain reaction of climatic events.
Atmospheric carbon impacts the temperature of the Earth because it is a greenhouse gas. When
visible light from the sun heats the surface of the earth, some of the energy is transmitted back
towards the...show more content...
While thermal expansion is difficult to observe on a small scale, such as a glass of water, it can
have a significant impact on a massive volume of water such as the combined oceans of the world.
Melting land ice, the other major factor in the sea–level rise, is a more straightforward issue. As
global temperature increases, land–based glaciers and ice will melt sooner and accumulate later.
Naturally, this runoff will lead to an increase in the total amount of water in the ocean.
The combination of these and other trends was an estimated average sea–level increase of 1.5mm
per year between 1961 and 2003, which reached 2.4mm per year in the decade from 1993 to 2003.
The decades prior to this trend showed only minor fluctuations in sea–level, suggesting that the
current rate exceeds what could be caused by natural cycles. While the exact impact of rising
oceans is difficult to determine, it is certain that the consequences will include some degree of
flooding, integration of salt water into water tables, and a loss of land due to coastal erosion and
submersion.6
Hypothesis:
Decades of research suggest that sea–levels are rising, and will continue to rise as a result of climate
change. This rise will have the most immediate and significant impact on

Cause And Effect Essay On Extreme Weather Events
Extreme weather events seem to be more common due to recent global climate changes. Changes in
climate events, such as floods, droughts, and hurricanes are the primary way that most people realize
climate change has consequences. Human activities have caused majority of the observable effects
on the environment. According to the IPCC, regions experience the effects of climate change at
different times, which alters some regions' ability to acclimate or modify (Global Climate Change 1).
Over the last five decades, many regions of the United States have experienced extended periods of
excessively high temperatures, sea–level rises, decline in snowpack and in some regions, floods and
droughts (Global Climate Change 1). Washington, a state in the northwestern region, is a prime
example of a destination that has experienced all of the previously stated outcomes. Washington has
two distinct climate zones. West of the Cascades have mild, humid, summer days that rarely past 79
degrees Fahrenheit, and winter days that range between 27 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Western
Washington also experiences frequent cloud cover, fog, and annual snowfall of 26 inches. In
opposition, east of the state experiences warm summers and cold winters, as well as annual
precipitation of only six inches (Washington State 1). In terms of liquid precipitation, there are an
average of 150.0 days of rain, with the most rain occurring in January with 18.0 days of rain, and the

If children follow the example set by today's athletes, the definition would equal a sore loser. High
school sports should be a fun way to physically express yourself as an athlete, but at the same time
learn some of life's lessons, like sportsmanship, discipline, and respect. In today's society, winning
comes before everything, but if winning requires neglect of good sportsmanship, then nothing is
gained in the long run.
Sportsmanship matters not only in sports, but also in the rest of our everyday lives. In any

Michigan State University's report, "Sportsmanship: Building Character or 'Characters'?"
on the Youth Sportsman Institute webpage, explains the basic idea of how the role of children's
participation in sports affects their sportsmanship. The report gives examples of how good
sportsmen, and bad sportsmen are viewed by society. The Youth Sports Institute says,
"participation is viewed as a double–edged sword that may have either negative or positive
effects on the child"("Sportsmanship",1) and that "the critical factor in
determining whether the youth sports experience has a positive or negative effect on children is the
quality of adult leadership"("Sportsmanship, 3).
The story "Friday Night Lights", written by H.G. Bissinger, gives examples of bad
sportsmanship, like the Youth Sportsman Institute suggests. "Friday Night Lights" is a
story about a football–obsessed town in Odessa, Texas. The whole story expresses winning or
losing the game as a life or death situation. In Odessa, bad sportsmanship isn't just a problem for the
athletes; it is a town–wide disease. The coaches talk bad behind their player's backs, while the fans
litter the head coaches yard with for–sale signs, blaming him for losing the big game.
The first instance of bad sportsmanship in the story is where Bissinger

  • 2. Essay About My English Class I can remember seeing that I had to take an English class my first semester of college. I was already overwhelmed with starting college, and having to write college essays made me get even more nervous. I sat down with my mom and decided to look at the English classes available, and I finally decided that I had to take an evening class to make it work in my schedule. The first day of English came and now looking back it was not as bad as I thought. It made me a better writer and be where I am today. It may have taken me some time to get where I am today, but at least I am on the right track. English Composition helped me realize that I am my own author and have strengths that I did not realize I had. When I first started college I did not know what to expect with an English class. I liked writing about topics that interested me, but high school did not allow me to do that. I took American History and we would have to write...show more content... I learned many techniques from my professor. He helped me realize that it is okay to have your own opinion as long as you back it up. He showed me that I am an author when I did not think I was. He also told us to read our essays out loud when we proofread, and I always did this technique before submitting all my essays. I can remember having to write my first essay and I was scared, because I felt like I had to get a good grade. I started thinking about what tools I could use to help me, and I decided to go to The Learning Center to help with my essay. When I went there they would make edits to my essay and then explain what I should change. The tutor noticed I used multiple choppy sentences and commas in spots there should not be. Sometimes I would even go twice to make sure I did not miss any minor mistakes. Going there helped me feel more confident as a writer and I learned from my mistakes. I had many helpful techniques from multiple people that shaped me into the writer I am Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The question that keeps popping up concerns, the role of language in keeping these social aspects. For instance, how language is important in maintaining cultural identity when people migrate from one nation to another. Similarly, Banks (1988,), define "a cluster of attributes such as values, beliefs, behaviour patterns and symbols unique to a particular human group" p. 261. Both researchers have similar identical analyse to express their study towards culture and identity. Furthermore, Goodenough considers culture as is made up of the concepts, beliefs, and principles of action and organization. In fact, culture is not a motionless object, but instead it has the power to acquire new traits and forms. Culture transformation can occur from one generation to another or from one geographical location to another. This means that culture is composed of shared custom, believes, codes of behaviours and statements that could clearly discriminate from sociocultural group to another. In view of all this, Anthropologist and social scientists essentially agree that sharing a culture between a crowd of people means being able to operate efficiently in that group. This means that culture can determine one's identity if a person is able to operate effectively in a certain group. In addition to this, social scientist has urged that changes in languages often reflect as the changing value of our culture. This clearly indicates that, language is more than a culture which means the language you speak determines your religious belief and cultural identity. So, religion and language are both correspondingly similar to ethnicity and patriotism, they play an Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Plague The Black Death "The Black Death" is known as the worst natural disaster in European history. The plague spread throughout Europe from 1346–1352. Those who survived lived in constant fear of the plague's return and it did not disappear until the 1600s. Not only were the effects devastating at the time of infection, but during the aftermath as well. "The Black Death" of the fourteenth century dramatically altered Europe's social and economic structure. The plague was spread by fleas, which were not effected by the disease. Fleas first infected the rats, which lived off garbage and sewage. The rats then spread the infection to the humans. "The Black Death" alone was not the only factor that was responsible for the social and economic change although it was the most important (Ziegler 234). Even without "The Black Death" continued deterioration in Europe would have been likely. The social and economic change had already set in well before 1346. For at least twenty–five years before "The Black Death," exports, agricultural production, and the area of cultivated land had all been shrinking. "The Black Death" contributed a large part to all of this destruction and led to important changes in the social and economic structure of the country (Ziegler 234–235). The plague touched every aspect of social life (Herlihy 19). There was hardly a generation that was not affected by the plague (www.jefferson.village.virginia.edu). Families were set against each other– the well rejecting the sick (www.byu.edu). Families left each other in fear. Many people died without anyone looking after them. When the plague appeared in a house, frightened people abandoned the house and fled to another (www.jefferson.village.virginia.edu). Due to this, the plague spread more rapidly because people were not aware that being in the same house with the infected person had already exposed them to it. Physicians could not be found because they had also died. Physicians who could be found wanted large sums of money before they entered the house (www.jefferson.village.virginia.edu). Early anesthetics were primitive and many patients simply did not trust anesthetics. Anesthesia is still a risky process even in todays advanced medical world. Anesthesia is not used to treat or diagnose any specific disease; the sole purpose is to aid both the patient and surgeon through procedures. However, anesthesia is used in different ways based on the magnitude of the procedure. There are three levels of anesthesia which include; local, regional, and general anesthesia. An anesthesiologist determines which type of anesthesia will be needed. Local anesthesia...show more content... For regional anesthesia, a local anesthetic will be injected into a nerve.[1] The anesthetic will then affect a series of nerves. The anesthetic blocks pain by interrupting nerve transmissions, also known as action potentials.[3] Action potentials occur at a constant rate within the body. Action potentials occur between nerve cells and all the body to feel pain. A nerve cell has a negative charge at a resting state due to negatively charged proteins within the cell.[3] Although the inside of the cell contains positively charged potassium ions as well, overall the charge is still negative. Along with potassium on the inside of the cell, positively charged sodium ions are located around the exterior of the cell.[3] When an action potential occurs, the cell becomes even more negatively charged. In turn, this causes sodium transport molecules in the membrane of the cell to open.[3] Sodium will then enter the cell during active transport. The positively charged sodium will cancel out the negatively charged active potential which will depolarize the cell. This allows neurotransmitters to transfer from cell to cell.[3] These neurotransmitters are what allows the body to feel pain. Local anesthetics work by diffusing through nerve fibers. Once they've reached the cells, they block the sodium transport molecules in the cell.[2] Therefore neurotransmitters cannot transfer information from cell to cell and the feeling of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Instability reminds me of a symbol of lacking stability of maturity around the world. I do not hear the word greed very often however I experience it. People are unaware of being greedy. It has a strong, disgusting, passive meaning to it. Greed represents a tacky, ignoble person who expects to receive everything that has great value. Greed is known as the desire for money, popularity or fame or even a higher authority of something. Being greedy is trying to succeed happiness and satisfaction for your own doing. • 9. Argumentative Essay On Special Education Introducation Special Education is a topic of controversy with many advocates fighting for the justice children and adults with special needs so rightfully deserve. With laws being passed and modified so frequently, it is important that the educators being brought into the world have an extensive knowledge of the developmental needs of many different types of children. With this knowledge and their constant measures to keep up to date with the fast–moving world of education, they will be able to deliver an appropriate atmosphere that is in accordance with the law that ensures ethical practices and guidelines are always being followed. Legislative, Thoerietical, Historical Our country's Legislative system has set many laws in place to protect the educational rights of all students, which allows for students to have a greater opportunity for educational success with funding levels varying between the states. Hooper and Umansky's book, Young Children with Special Needs, states that the majority of early childhood intervention programs began under the "umbrella of Maternal and Child Health (MCH)," which was put into place in 1935 in accordance with the Social Security Act. The Americans with Disabilities Act and theIndividuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) are two programs stemming from this historical piece of legislation. The Americans with Disabilities Act was an anti–discrimination law that allowed for more students to have access to certain facilities and resources giving them a better chance to succeed in their education. IDEA made it mandatory for the state to provide special education service programs for children between the ages of three and five. The parents with children who are included in IDEA typically receive grants to help them fund their child's education. Another piece of legislation that is widely utilized in classrooms today is the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). This plan develops a plan of action for the family with children that receive special education services and allows the information to further assist the child beyond school grounds. In use today is the Affordable Care Act (2012) that allowed for programs to be funded that look to prevent and care for children Get more content on HelpWriting.net

People have always tired to find out the answer, because what makes a good parent makes a good family and what makes a good family makes a good society and finally what makes a good society makes the world we live in a good one. Actually it is family where all the social ills come from. It is family that predetermines what kind of society we will have tomorrow, because the society of tomorrow will be born to and moulded in the family of today. But as soon as children start feeling that their parents care too much, they try to get back at them and do just what their parents don't want them to do. On the other hand kids who face lack of freedom may end up turning into introverts afraid to speak to other people or not as social (which is not a bad thing though). I believe that next thing any parent must not forget about is trust. Being consistent with your child is of paramount importance because that's how trust is supported. Being consistent is not changing the rules half way through the game. Being consistent is not promising rewards that kids will never see. Being consistent is not threatening punishment without carrying it through. From the very first day on Earth children put trust in their parents and it must not be betrayed because once it is, once children find out they have been lied to, you will have to literally put yourself out to win it back. Communication. Being able to communicate well builds confidence and charisma. Parents should not be afraid to talk to their children. They should not jump down through their throat when they are curious about something either no matter how stupid it may seem. Parents should be able to look at everyday things and events through the eyes of their children who are new in this world and have little knowledge of it. It has become the lifeline. The call of the hour is for the academia to well–equip itself with the most competent language skills. Only then can suitable help be extended to the beneficiaries, the students. My paper will focus on the nature of General and Technical English today. It will also attempt to show how Technical English and General English can be made more student–centric as the Academic language. The second most spoken language in the world and the lingua franca in many professions, English is a culturally rich, exciting field of study, with some 380 million native speakers. Only Chinese and Hindi...show more content... The absence of it deprives citizens of having a rounded personality and an integrated view of life. In today's world, we find people lacking sensitivity which is manifest in terms of gender violence and other abuses of human rights. It is reflective of the fact that we lack the means to understand life. In the context of late capitalism and affluent society, literature has to be reinvented to serve the interest of humanity that is at crossroads."(1) When this love for literature is developed, the rest follows suit and there is no need for the teacher to thrust English on the student. The learning will happen automatically and he/she would also evolve as a fuller human being. It is because today's world is very materialistic and prosaic. The curriculum should add spice to the Technical English syllabus, make it more lovable and rename it, if necessary. Technical English should be extended to at least 4 semesters and its significance in today's world of communication must be sent across as an important message to the learner. Each semester can be devoted for a particular skill (LSRW) and prose, poetry, drama and such related genres have to be subtly introduced to the young learner. There would be speculations about dealing with high achievers who are very proficient in the language. For such students, the curriculum can be widened to include tougher aspects of language and literature which would be a challenge Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Definition Essay: A Sense Of Humor Kalee Ewald David Becker English 101 17 December 2015 A Sense of Humor Humor is the tendency to look at things from a lighter side. It is a way that makes something funny or amusing. It is the ability to recognize, appreciate, or talk about what is hilarious or laughable. Humor is the source of laughter and the substance of smiles. Humor is the flash that illuminates our eyes as well as the cause of uncontrollable tears that never gets old. Humor is a state of mind. We all have a tendency to respect a cunning sense of humor as the distinction of a person who is kind hearted and nice, someone people feel comfortable around. They can usually be the "life of the party" we always want to invite or the friend who always has a joke to tell. Everyone Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Why High School Shouldn't Be Extended The topic of this essay is a debate in whether all high schools should be extended 2 years longer instead of being an education of just four years. The part I take in this debate would be that I disagree; I think high school should remain as a four year educational system and should not be extended. In this essay I will be providing you with opinions of others and opinions of my own to support my point of view on why I strongly disagree with this debate. I will also be including on how high school lasting only four year has its negative effects too. Last but not least I will include on what authors have to say about this debate. I personally think that high school only lasting four years is a reasonable amount of years. In this whole four year process, high school provides you with the educational information and level you are expected to obtain. I like the idea that when you are done with high school you are the age of 18 and legally you can make your own grown up decisions. I also like how this process isn't so long they balanced on how you can get the education you need in that small amount of time. Being a high school student I disagree that school shouldn't be extended for two more years I strongly think that four years is a good amount of years to learn the information that is needed to learn during high school. If school were to be extended for two more years the rate of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Extended Family Many people say that they are scared to let people into their lives, but my family loves to let other people into our lives. For example we have let in many kids that either don't have a good family life, live far away from school, or don't have enough money to provide for themselves. It is awesome having these "older brothers" come into our house because I become very close to all of them. I will be talking about the effects from having these people live with us. About seven years ago, Kual Nhial was on the same basketball team as my brother Tyler. He needed a ride to the basketball tournaments in the winter, so my Dad said he would take him. It started out as him living with us on the weekends and eventually it turned into more than that; the next year Kual started going to Northpointe Christian and lived with us during the weekdays. Kual has had a major impact on my life that will never leave me. I looked up to Kual more than anyone in my family, and I was closer to him than any of my other brothers. He taught me a lot about basketball, faith, and gave me girl advice as well. Although though Kual has done a lot for me and has taught me a lot, he has made some bad decisions. It really upsets me with what Kual could have done with his life and he basically threw it away. The impact that kual has had on my life has been positive and also negative, but I am very glad that he was apart of our family and I know that he will always be there for me when I need Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Gender Inequality In Mean Girls Real life examples of gender inequality do sort of hamper the hopes of those wishing for better in the near future, as it will take a while for the pay gap between men and women to be closed and gender norms will be even harder to break; nonetheless, the three main films being discussed in this paper do give people a bit of hope that women may transcend their limits in due time. Indeed, some already are doing this. In Flame, the titular character takes the initiative on things, such as joining the army. While she is on the same level as men and is even acknowledged towards the end of the film, she does go into war mainly for the purpose of finding a man. Still, her mannerisms and actions do show that she is a more independent female. Flame's...show more content... Many westerners critique the African way of life. Polygamous marriages in particular are a no–no, although these marriages actually have several advantages. Westerners also commonly blame the African countries' governments for gender inequality, but Nnaemeka argues that patriarchy is to blame for gender inequality. The social customs that women adopt in order to please men and fit into society may also be to blame for the stress that many women feel. Women characters in O HerГіi, The Night of Truth, and Flame all try to keep up their physical appearances, nurture children, and follow men to an extent. Nonetheless, some of the same women characters that adhere to some social rules also break some of the social rules. Each director is trying to show African women in a new light. Despite the fact that one's job should not be assigned based on gender, women are more likely to care for soldiers hiding out than actually fighting in wars. They still are in danger during war, however, and they account for many of the (civilian) deaths caused by war. Even those that are not killed put their lives in jeopardy when they allow soldiers to hide out. Women are probably the most important gender/sex of human beings. They can do many things that men do as well as things that men cannot do. If anything, the social structure should be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. The Effects of Rising Sea Levels Essay The Effects of Rising Sea Levels Introduction: Over the last several decades, climate change has evolved from a polarizing discussion to what will likely be the largest collaborative research project of our generation. While many aspects of climate change are still misunderstood, there is little debate that the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is rising at an alarming rate. This rise is considered the main cause behind an increase in global temperature, which has set in motion a chain reaction of climatic events. Atmospheric carbon impacts the temperature of the Earth because it is a greenhouse gas. When visible light from the sun heats the surface of the earth, some of the energy is transmitted back towards the...show more content... While thermal expansion is difficult to observe on a small scale, such as a glass of water, it can have a significant impact on a massive volume of water such as the combined oceans of the world. Melting land ice, the other major factor in the sea–level rise, is a more straightforward issue. As global temperature increases, land–based glaciers and ice will melt sooner and accumulate later. Naturally, this runoff will lead to an increase in the total amount of water in the ocean. The combination of these and other trends was an estimated average sea–level increase of 1.5mm per year between 1961 and 2003, which reached 2.4mm per year in the decade from 1993 to 2003. The decades prior to this trend showed only minor fluctuations in sea–level, suggesting that the current rate exceeds what could be caused by natural cycles. While the exact impact of rising oceans is difficult to determine, it is certain that the consequences will include some degree of flooding, integration of salt water into water tables, and a loss of land due to coastal erosion and submersion.6 Hypothesis: Decades of research suggest that sea–levels are rising, and will continue to rise as a result of climate change. This rise will have the most immediate and significant impact on Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Cause And Effect Essay On Extreme Weather Events Extreme weather events seem to be more common due to recent global climate changes. Changes in climate events, such as floods, droughts, and hurricanes are the primary way that most people realize climate change has consequences. Human activities have caused majority of the observable effects on the environment. According to the IPCC, regions experience the effects of climate change at different times, which alters some regions' ability to acclimate or modify (Global Climate Change 1). Over the last five decades, many regions of the United States have experienced extended periods of excessively high temperatures, sea–level rises, decline in snowpack and in some regions, floods and droughts (Global Climate Change 1). Washington, a state in the northwestern region, is a prime example of a destination that has experienced all of the previously stated outcomes. Washington has two distinct climate zones. West of the Cascades have mild, humid, summer days that rarely past 79 degrees Fahrenheit, and winter days that range between 27 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Western Washington also experiences frequent cloud cover, fog, and annual snowfall of 26 inches. In opposition, east of the state experiences warm summers and cold winters, as well as annual precipitation of only six inches (Washington State 1). In terms of liquid precipitation, there are an average of 150.0 days of rain, with the most rain occurring in January with 18.0 days of rain, and the least rain occurring in July with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Sportsmanship Essay "One who plays a sport fairly and loses gracefully" is how The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines sportsmanship. What is a sportsman? The definition seems to have undergone a big change over the years. If children follow the example set by today's athletes, the definition would equal a sore loser. High school sports should be a fun way to physically express yourself as an athlete, but at the same time learn some of life's lessons, like sportsmanship, discipline, and respect. In today's society, winning comes before everything, but if winning requires neglect of good sportsmanship, then nothing is gained in the long run. Sportsmanship matters not only in sports, but also in the rest of our everyday lives. In any competition,...show more content... Michigan State University's report, "Sportsmanship: Building Character or 'Characters'?" on the Youth Sportsman Institute webpage, explains the basic idea of how the role of children's participation in sports affects their sportsmanship. The report gives examples of how good sportsmen, and bad sportsmen are viewed by society. The Youth Sports Institute says, "participation is viewed as a double–edged sword that may have either negative or positive effects on the child"("Sportsmanship",1) and that "the critical factor in determining whether the youth sports experience has a positive or negative effect on children is the quality of adult leadership"("Sportsmanship, 3). The story "Friday Night Lights", written by H.G. Bissinger, gives examples of bad sportsmanship, like the Youth Sportsman Institute suggests. "Friday Night Lights" is a story about a football–obsessed town in Odessa, Texas. The whole story expresses winning or losing the game as a life or death situation. In Odessa, bad sportsmanship isn't just a problem for the athletes; it is a town–wide disease. The coaches talk bad behind their player's backs, while the fans litter the head coaches yard with for–sale signs, blaming him for losing the big game. The first instance of bad sportsmanship in the story is where Bissinger Get more content on HelpWriting.net
