2. Do you know about Jean Desmet ? Well his real name is Pierre Jean Desmet , when Jean was an adult many people started calling him Father Pierre Jean Desmet. He was a famous missionary. He worte many books . The Sioux Indians would listen to Jean Desmet more than any other white man. +

3. Jean has written many reports about the West which he liked so well. He was a Catholic missionary. He attended at Fort Laramie. In 1835 he devoted most of his adult life serving the Indians. He was on the Oregon trail. Jean had performed the marriage rites from Felle and his Indian bride in the Platte river and in the rocky mountain country.
