2. Pre- writing

Characteristic of the main characters( Cinderella & Beauty )
Cinderella is kind and hardworking girl. She obeys any command of her
stepmother although her stepmother treats her bad. She also respects her.
Belle is a kind and helpful girl. She helps those weak from the bullies. She treats
her father well. She rather sacrifices herself to save her father from the beast’s
castle.

Bad peoples
Cinderella’s stepmother is a bad and selfish woman. She always treats her stepdaughter Cinderella bad and gives the best thing for her daughters only. She
takes away all Cinderella’s freedom by keeping her in house to do all those
housework.
Gaston is a mad, arrogant and selfish guy. He only cares about himself. He tries
to kill the beast so that he can have the beauty in force to marry him.

The main characters’ identity
Cinderella wasn’t a princess but a step-daughter or normal citizen in town. She
was been treated as a maid in her house. But at the end of the story, she
became the princess.

3. Belle was a normal citizen in town. She lives in a cottage with her dad. Her dad
was an inventor. After she deals with the beast for her dad’s life, she broke the
spell that was cursed by the witch long ago. Beast became a prince and then a
king. The beauty married with the beast as the king when the spell was broke. So
the beauty became a queen/ princess.

Endings of the story
These 2 stories have a happy ending story.
Cinderella finally lives happily with the prince after meeting the prince in the ball
at the castle.
Belle broke the curse of the beast and the beast return back into human form.
They are then live happily in the castle.

4. The Similarities between “Cinderella” and “Beauty and the Beast”
In 21st century, many people love to watch movie or film in the cinema or
through television at home. There are kind of films and movie such as romantic
comedy and animated film. Kids love to watch animated film the most such as
Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty. What is animated film? Animated film is kind of film
which photograph drawing and painting frame by frame. There are many
animated film had been made so there are some animated films are similar such
as “Cinderella” and “Beauty and the Beast”
First of all, the characteristic for the main character in the animated film
are similar. Cinderella is kind and hardworking girl. After Cinderella’s mother
dead, her father married with a cruel and cold-heart woman as Cinderella’s
stepmother. Cinderella’s stepmother always ordered her to clean everything and
do all housework. Although Cinderella was having this torturous life that was
given by her stepmother, she never be rude to her stepmother but respect her as
her mother. For “Beauty and the Beast”, Belle is a kind-heart girl too. She loves
her father very much and never blames her father although they are not that rich.
In this story, she wills to sacrifice her freedom for her father’s freedom when her
father was trap inside Beast’s castle.
Next are those evil-side people in the animated film. There must be an
evil-side people in every story to make it interesting. Both film’s evil people’s

5. purpose are the same and that was to stop the main character having a happily
ever after life. In “Cinderella”, Cinderella’s stepmother Lady Tremaine and her
daughter Anastasia and Drizella always treat Cinderella badly. They gave all
those housework and rough work to Cinderella. They even tear Cinderella’s
wearing for the Royal ball. For “Beauty and the Beast”, Gaston was the evil
person. He tried to kill the Beast so that he can snatch back Belle from the Beast.
Although Belle stops Gaston but Gaston never listen. The purpose for Gaston to
kill the Beast is to bring Belle back to town in force and marry him instead of
saving her away from the Beast’s castle.
Besides that, the similar part for both film were the main character’s
identity. They weren’t princess in the starting of the story but they end up being a
princess. In “Cinderella”, Cinderella was just a normal citizen in a small town. In
the other words, she was also been treated as a maid in her house. After the
help of fairy godmother and her friends by getting her into the Royal ball and met
the prince. The prince fall in love with Cinderella and bring her back to the castle.
So, she was then became a princess. For “Beauty and the Beast”, Belle was just
a daughter on the inventor Maurice in town. However, after she broke the spell
that has been cast to the prince by an enchantress years ago, the Beast turn
back to human form and continue becoming a prince. The prince married with
Belle so Belle also became a princess in the end.

6. Last but not least, the most similar part for these films is the ending part of
the story. In both films, they have a happily ever after with the prince, as happy
ending. In” Cinderella”, although Cinderella’s stepmother and stepsisters tried
lots of ways to stop Cinderella by having a happy life with the prince but the
prince still able to find out where Cinderella is and brought her back to castle.
Cinderella is then live happily ever after with the prince. For “Beauty and the
Beast”, after Belle broke the spell that was casted by the Enchantress to the
prince, the prince is then return into human form and married with Belle. They are
then live happily ever after together in the castle.
In the nutshell, there are many similarities between “Cinderella” and
“Beauty and the Beast”. They contain mostly similar characteristic because it’s
the kind of characteristic that are accepted by most peoples. Those evil people
are also important so that the story will be more interesting by creating climax
part for the movie. In my opinion, I love both story because they are interesting
with happy ending instead of just a normal and boring ending.
