gestation period. The baby`s height at birth is on average 2
metres. Also they feed their young on milk for 2years and then
they take care of the baby for more than 1-2years.
The Giraffe is protected by the government in Africa. The Government has plans
including collecting seed from acacia for food, migrating the girafes into national park or
reserve areas and controlling the population.
Siamese Crocodile

Siberian Tiger
Siberian tigers are the world’s largest cats. They live in eastern Russia, China
and North Korea.
They have brown striped fur and powerful legs. They lie in wait to attack their
victims’ hungry tiger can eat as much as 27kgs in one night. Most tiger avoid humans, but a few do become
dangerous man-eaters’.
They deliver two to six cubs. Cubs cannot hunt until they are18 months. They remain with their mother for two to
three years until they become independent.
There are protected, because there are only about 400-500 Siberian tigers living in the wild. Also people have
reduced the woodland so they have become endangered. Also their body parts are used in traditional Chinese
medicine which is a threat to Siberian Tigers.
Royal Bengal Tiger
The Royal Bengal Tiger is the native animal of Bangladesh and it lives in Sundarbans, area in the east of
Bangladesh.
The royal Bengal tiger is reddish orange with narrow black, gray of brown stripes. The underside is creamy or
white with darker stripes and it has icy blue eyes. It feeds on pigs, deer and buffalo. The tiger can consume as
much as 40 kg of meat in one feeding.
The weight is 225 kg and female, 135 kg. It looks like a cat but it is larger than a cat. The tiger is timid and it is
secretive and essentially solitary. It can jump 5 and 6 meters and it likes water and can swim very well. The tiger
hunts mostly at dusk and dawn because their stripes help them hide in the shadows of tall grasses. They stalk
and pounce because they are not able to chase prey a long distance. They are commonly seen in the shade or
wading in pools to cool off.
It is estimated that there are less than 3,000 Royal Bengal Tiger left in the wild.

Tiger Snake
Introduction
The tiger snake is a type of venomous snake found in southern regions of
Australia including its coastal Islands and Tasmania.
Habitat
Tiger snakes are most often seen near creeks, rivers and swamps. They
can also be found in dry areas. They can climb small trees and shrubs. Tiger snakes are active during the day
and also during the night in warmer weather.
Appearance
Tiger snakes are thick-bodied snakes, they are usually around 1 m long but many grow up to 2 m. Their head is
slightly wider from their neck. Tiger snakes range in colour from grey, brown, black, red and yellow. The belly can
be cream, yellow, grey, and olive green with the head dark grey bluish or black
What they eat
Tiger snakes are largely frog predators. When young they eat frogs, black rats but they also eat other
reptiles, birds, small mammals and fish. They have poisonous venom that helps break down the prey in their

around water. But they avoid heavily populated areas, dense
forest and arid areas.
The emu is 1.5 to 2 metres tall and about 36 kilograms of
weight. They have 3 toes and long legs. The emu can be up to
1.5 metres wide. The female is larger than the male.

Report on Komodo Drag By Irma
The Komodo dragon is a native of Flores
an Indonesian island.
The Komodo dragon lives in dry open
land, savana and tropical forest. They
like dry and hot places. It is mostly active
in the day time, because it is cold

protection with powerful legs and it has sharp claws. This hole can be 1-3 metres wide. Because it is very big
and sleeps in the holes, it is able to keep warm though the night. The Komodo usually hunts in the afternoon,
Komodo dragon has special resting places on ridges that catch cool sea breezes.
The Komodo dragon has a tail as long as its body and about 60 sharp teeth that can grow up to 2.5 cm long. It
also has a long, yellow forked tongue. Its saliva is red because the gums almost completely cover its teeth.
The Komodo dragon is a reptile.
Carabao
The Carabao is a type of water buffalo is the national animal of The Philippines.
Carabaos are well adapted to a hot and humid climate. Wild carabaos can be found on grassy lands near water
such as lakes and wide rivers and domestic carabaos usually live on a farm because the farmers use them for
pulling ploughs. They also produce large quantities of milk.
The Carabao eats grass and vegetables.
They have fairly long grey or black hair thinly covering their huge body and their weight is almost 2000 pounds.
Since they have no sweat glands, they cool themselves by lying in a water hole or mud during the heat day. They
are mammals and the female carabaos can deliver one calf each year.

fur to make jackets, blankets and purses but now this is illegal.
Elephants
Introduction:
There are two different types of elephants, Asian and
African elephants. Sometimes people split the Africa
elephant in to Forest African elephant and Bush African
elephants.

Elephants are the largest land-living mammal in the world.
Both genders of African elephants have tusks however only
male Asian elephants have tusks. They use their tusks for
digging and finding food. Elephants have large, thin ears mostly made of blood vessels, which regulate an
elephant’s temperature. Their trunk can grow to about two meters long and weigh about 140kg!!!
How they live:
Female elephants are called cows. Females start having calves at 12 years old, they are pregnant for about 22
months. Elephants have no natural predators, however lions will sometimes prey on young elephants. Elephants
lift food and water with their trunk.
Food:
Elephants can drink up to 210 liters of water a day!! Elephants are herbivores. Herbivores are animals that eat
plants only. Elephants look for food 16 hours a day, collecting leaves, twigs, bamboo and roots.
