2. INTRODUCTION
 The Internet of Things, or IoT, is emerging
as the next technology mega-trend, with
repercussions across the business
spectrum.
 By connecting to the Internet billions of
everyday devices – ranging from fitness
bracelets to industrial equipments are
being accessed through IoT without strain.
 The IoT merges the physical and online
worlds, opening up a host of new
opportunities and challenges for
companies, governments and consumers.

 The Internet of Things (IoT) is a scenario in
which objects, animals or people are
provided with unique identifiers and the
ability to transfer data over a network
without requiring human-to-human or
human-to-computer interaction.
 IoT has evolved from the convergence
of wireless technologies, micro-
electromechanical systems (MEMS) and
the Internet.

 Cloud Computing:IoT applications (such as
sensor-based services) will be delivered
on-demand through a cloud
environment.This extends beyond the need
to virtualize sensor data stores in a
scalable fashion.
 IoT and Semantic Technologies:semantic-
based reasoning will assist IoT users to
more independently find the relevant
proven virtual objects to improve the
performance or the effectiveness of the IoT
applications they intend to use.

 Autonomy:The Internet of Things will
exponentially increase the scale and the
complexity of existing computing and
communication systems.
 Trends service analyzes the growth of
this market from the autonomously
connected units in the enterprise and
consumer world to the applications and
services that will demonstrate the power
of a world of connected "things."

6. Interest Areas
 The idea of the IoT brings new challenges
regarding security and in consequence also for
privacy, trust and reliability.
 If given a chance then I would like to connect
remote devices and systems and provide a
data stream between devices and
decentralized management systems.
 The data or even the devices will be
incorporated into existing organizational
processes to provide information on the
location, status, activity and functionality of
those systems, as well as information about
the people who own and operate them.
