The top 10 external risks to the business continuity of a large southern California electric utility over the next 24 months are: 1) wildfires, 2) temperature extremes, 3) criminal activity, 4) access to capital, 5) botnets/zombies, 6) seismic events, 7) floods, 8) fossil fuel risks, 9) renewable energy program challenges, and 10) Stuxnet malware or copycat attacks. Over 100 risks were identified and then narrowed down to these 10 most significant threats based on their potential impacts.
