This document provides a review of Neil Postman's book "Amusing Ourselves to Death" which examines how different communication mediums, like television and the internet, shape society. The review discusses Postman's view that television encouraged short, entertainment-focused information which weakened education and civic discourse. While the internet incorporates television, it also allows for more active information consumption. However, superficial content presented as entertainment online risks similar problems to television like less community and contextual understanding.
