Traditional financial institutions are beginning to move critical core banking applications to the cloud, while new challengers in the form of digital-only banks are gaining millions of new accounts. These digital banks must meet their customers’ real-time demands while complying with new and changing regulatory requirements to ensure data privacy, security, and availability. Join us for this webinar to explore a case study featuring WeLab a new Hong Kong digital bank. Learn how they combined Temenos Transact, a cloud-native, cloud-agnostic core banking solution, with NuoDB’s revolutionary distributed SQL database to:
- Deploy a fault tolerant multi-cluster environment across multiple clouds
- Use microservices, containers, and Kubernetes to increase speed to market
- Reduce TCO with on-demand scalability and built-in continuous availability

Multi-Cloud is a Missed Opportunity
RightScale's “2019 State of the Cloud Report” found that enterprises are already
using an average of five cloud providers. While most companies are using
multiple clouds, they are not strategically leveraging this capability.

On behalf of the entire NuoDB team, I want to express our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to all the frontline works around the world who are working hard to keeps us safe and healthy during these troubling times.
The world is defiantly different than it was a few months ago. For businesses, this crisis has been a forcing function to focus the most critical business needs
Even before the Covid-19 crisis, agility was top of mind for CIOs. This survey from McKinsey highlights that Agility is the top reason for pursing infrastructure modernization.
Agility is critically important for companies to be able to adjust quickly to various situations – this could be anything from new competitive threats or changes in customer expectations. If this challenging time has taught us anything, is that agility is more important than ever to protect us from the next unexpected event
Developing a Cloud & Multi-Cloud strategy is one of the ways you can prepare yourself for the uncertainties of tomorrow.
While everyone has been talking about clouds for a while now, we are still in the early stages of the cloud journey.
A lot of the buzz has been around the internet and social media companies who were born in the cloud. But for mature enterprise banking companies, only a small portion of their applications are in the cloud. This is just the start of the journey.
Generally, these companies have been able to deploy net new applications or existing applications that are relatively independent in the cloud. But their core systems remain on-premises, either due to complex dependencies, specialized hardware or data security concerns.
This mode of co-existence of mixed on-premises and cloud environments will continue to exist for a while.
This report from RightScale shows that a large majority of companies are already using multiple cloud vendors or have hybrid deployments.
For a lot of these companies, the support for multiple clouds has grown organically. For example, one BU may deploy an application in AWS due to some services that are only available in AWS. Another BU in the same company may deploy in GCP because they have expertise with GCP. As a result, companies start using multiple clouds but don’t have a strategy in place to leverage that capability.
Not having a multi-cloud strategy is a miss opportunity to improve the company’s agility to protect against future uncertainties
