- Let’s start with the economic realities around us. Sadly it’s becoming a normal thing to talk about Financial crisis, Downturn, Recession, fear and disaster. This simply means more work and less pay for most people and more and more people are forced to postpone their retirement. Health care costs are escalating. Stock markets are more volatile than ever before and employee benefits have been significantly reduced or simply taken away.

Just like a writer that writes a book once, but gets paid every time that book is sold any time in the future. Great example is J.K. Rowling the author of the Harry Potter books. Same applies for a world class singer selling songs and many other examples. The opposite to this is linear income, where you exchange time for money or get paid for a certain job.
- In this business, your income or compensation is in direct proportion to the effort and determination you put in it. You can decide to build a small business that will give you some pocket money/extra income or you could build a business unit and start generating more serious income. You can even take it further and build an international empire by helping others to build their business units. This is where the leverage really kicks in.
- Everyone starts at the same place - As a distributor. As a distributor you can buy all the Nu Skin products wholesale price. This is where you start introducing people to the business and products. You can get 5% commission on the volume of the personally sponsored people as well as retail profit and bonuses. It will take you 1-3 months to qualify to become an executive – This qualification time is the time you take to properly learn the business. It pays off big time to become an Executive, as then you will get paid from 9 and up to 20% of everyone in your entire group. A leader is someone that has helped at least one person to become an Executive. Those that want to reach far in this business almost become Executive factories. Here the Leverage really kicks in and we have here the average income for people that have reached different levels in the compensation plan. Those people that had helped one person to become an Executive- according to the 2010 figures - had on average just over 9 thousand dollars pr. Year. Those that had advanced a bit and helped two or three people were in a group with the average income of over 15 thousand Dollars, those with 4 or 5 personally sponsored as we call it, had reach a level of an yearly average income of over 30 thousand Dollars and this is the first benchmark we focus on helping people to reach when starting the business. Those with 6 or 7 had jus under 59 thousand yearly and those with 8 til 11 had on average close to 120 thousand Dollars and finally, those that had helped 12 or more people to qualify as Executives and build their own organizations are a part of a group with close to 570 thousand Dollars annually. This will be explained in more detail in our Start Up section.
- As I said before, this is about leveraging your social network. To look at some numbers, we could say that if you introduce 5 customers to the Nu Skin products, and they all do the same, you have 25 on your second level. When you duplicate that, you get 125, 625, 3.125 and finally 15.625 on your sixth level. This of course is just playing with numbers, but lets say you involve 10 partners and over time they do a little bit each and the partners double on each level. This is actually a real experience in the business. Then you will have 70 partners on your first three levels. If each of them has 10 customers that on average buy products for 100€ then the revenue for the month becomes 70.000 Euro. As you might have picked up on the last slide your commission from Executive organizations is 5% - this would then give you a monthly residual income of 3.500€. As it turns out, this is close to the average income of executive between Ruby and Emerald status – and most people build this business to the Ruby level as a part time business.
- It is very interesting to look at where we are at in Europe with Nu Skin. In 1999, Nu Skin had only been operating a short 3-4 years and had build to a revenue of 14 million $, behind that revenue were 16.000 active distributors and just over 520 Executives. 12 years later the yearly revenue was 170 million $ with 115.000 active distributors and close to 4.000 Executives. It is an official goal to get Europe to a Billion dollar revenue within the next years. With the kind of growth we are having now, it is a question if we reach that by the year 2020 or even earlier. Behind a billion dollar revenue there will most likely be about 25.000 Executives with 700.000 active distributors. The question is basically, how big a portion of that would you like to have in your business? We are on the verge of exponential growth in Europe and now is the right time to take action.
