LA “LEGGEREZZA” NELL’ ARCHITETTURA
Vivendo in un momento storico in cui la città contemporanea ha assunto le sembianze di un luogo spersonalizzante e sperso-
nalizzato, nasce il bisogno di progettare luoghi riconoscibili e flessibili aumentando le possibilità di incuriosire e soddisfare le
esigenze di un pubblico sempre più mutevole e sofisticato.
L’ omogeneità viene sostituita da un’ idea di città che privilegia la molteplicità, l’eterogeneità, l’accostamento di elementi diversi
tra loro, risultato delle stratificazioni di diversi modelli urbani precedenti:
L’ architettura e l’ interior design hanno imboccato la strada della crescita attraverso la trasformazione dell’esistente, ma è ne-
cessario che questa progettazione avvenga in maniera “educativa”, strutturando i suoi elementi affinché diventino funzionali alla
narrazione, ovvero siano in grado di comunicare all’uomo il messaggio contenuto in maniera chiara e concreta.
Gentrificazione e riuso sono le tematiche di maggiore interesse: la nuova metropoli non tende più ad ingigantirsi ma a concen-
trarsi sempre più e in questo scenario le realtà esistenti diventano opportunità per lo sviluppo tipologico e il recupero.
La velocità con cui queste realtà si trasformano, l’evoluzione dei mercati e delle esigenze , diventano motivo di sfida per gli in-
dustriali e i creativi che devono essere in grado di approntare soluzioni facilmente rinnovabili, dinamiche ma dalle alte qualità
performanti e di forte identità progettuale.
“ Texilight “ è il prodotto alla base di questa nuova filosofia di progetto; una skin architettonica per l’ interno e l’ esterno, un ar-
chitectural fabric in grado di interagire con lo spazio e la tecnologia e diventare supporto duttile nelle mani dell’ architetto, per
percepire la materia, il design e l’architettura.
Leggerezza, trasformabilità, interazione ed emozione, credo siano le caratteristiche principali di “Texilight” un prodotto sviluppa-
to con una particolare attenzione al senso di responsabilità che ogni progettista dovrebbe avere, riferito al benessere dell’ uomo
ed al rispetto del nostro pianeta.
Tessuto come trama, modulare, modellabile, soft e al tempo stesso superficie su cui poter stampare, proiettare, retroilluminare
cambiando colore; un sistema con il quale esaltare la creatività trovando soluzioni alle moderne esigenze dell’ architetto con-
temporaneo.
La mia collaborazione con l’Azienda People&Projects inizia da un immediato e spontaneo rapporto umano creatosi con i soci
fondatori che con grande professionalità e amore, ha saputo sviluppare nel anni un prodotto unico, innovativo, espressione della
grande tradizione del Made in Italy.

5. PREFACE
This is a period in time when modern cities have come to resemble soulless and impersonal places. We therefore need to create recogni-
sable and flexible spaces that increase the opportunities to tempt and satisfy the needs of a public which is increasingly changeable and
sophisticated.
Uniformity is replaced by the concept of a city which prizes diversity, variety and the juxtaposition of different elements, the result of the
layers of different previous urban models.
Architecture and interior design have started down the path of growth through transforming what already exists, but this must done in an
“educative” way. Its elements must be structured in such a way that they become tools of narration, or rather are able to communicate the
message they contain, clearly and concretely.
Gentrification and reclaiming for use are the themes which provoke the most interest: new cities no longer tend to sprawl over vast expan-
ses but are increasingly concentrated and in this scenario existing structures become opportunities for development and reclamation.
The speed with which these transformations take place - the evolution of markets and needs - are challenges for commercial and creative
companies which must be up to the challenge of providing solutions which are easy to sustain and dynamic, but which are also high per-
formance with a strong identity.
Texilight® is the product from which this new project philosophy stems; it is an architectural skin for inside and outside, an architectural
fabric which interacts with space and technology and becomes an adaptable tool in the architect’s hands. It can be used as a material and
for design and architectural purposes.
Subtlety, transformability, interaction and feeling, I believe those are the main characteristics of Texilight®. It was developed with particular
attention to the responsibility that every designer should feel, in reference to well-being and respecting our planet.
The fabric looks woven, is versatile, malleable, soft and at the same time a surface that can be printed or projected on or back-lit to change
the colour. It’s a system designed to give life to creativity, finding solutions to the requirements of contemporary architecture.
My collaboration with the company People & Projects stems from an immediate bond formed with the founders, who over the years have
been able to develop a unique and innovative product with professionalism and passion. It is an expression of that great tradition Made in
Italy.

architettoniche odierne.

The ability to adhere to and dress any kind of surface means the system can easily adapt and achieve creative solutions which
are an innovative alternative to the conventional restructuring systems available in the range of what modern architecture
has to offer.

11. I am MOUDABLE

Grazie all’estrema flessibilità, il Texilight® System è in grado di adattarsi alla maggior parte delle strutture architettoniche
preesistenti, con risultati di sorprendente estensibilità, elasticità e modulabilità.
I can curve myself into an infinite number of shapes and take on an unlimited number of appearances: I can be arrow and bow,
stem and flower. I am mouldable and flexible, elastic and stretchable. Versatility is part of my very essence.
Curved or spiky shapes, barrel or rib vaulted ceilings, parallelepipeds or hexagons, pyramids or cones - these are the different
geometrical variations that can be formed.
Thanks to its incredible flexibility, the Texilight® System can adapt to the majority of pre-existing architectural structures. The
result is a surprising stretchability, elasticity and mouldability.

15. I am LIGHT
Impalpabile come un soffio, resto sospeso a mezz’aria, trattenendo ed emanando luce, filtrandola e dandole la giusta
diffusione e potenza.
Con un peso di 180 gr/mq, l’estrema leggerezza consente al sistema di districarsi in forme delicate e soffuse, nonché di minimiz-
zare la sua quantità di impiego rispetto ad altri controsoffitti utilizzabili per la medesima quadratura.
Ne deriva una ottimizzazione dei costi di trasporto ed un considerevole risparmio in termini ambientali, grazie alla produzione di
una ridotta quantità di prodotto.
Il sistema, inoltre, è in grado di emanare luce, grazie alle sue proprietà retro illuminanti; non teme l’acqua né il caldo e può risolvere
facilmente problemi di ispezionabilità.
As light a summer’s breeze, I hang mid-air, capturing and emanating light, filtering, diffusing and controlling it to perfection.
The system’s weightlessness allows it to arrange itself in delicate and gentle shapes, as well as reducing the amount needed
compared to other false ceilings for the same surface area.
This is easier logistically and considerably reduces the impact on the environment, because a smaller quantity of the product
is produced.
In addition, the system is capable of producing light, thanks to its back-lighting properties. Neither water nor heat pose a
problem and can easily solve serviceability issues.

Colour holds the key to letting me reach my maximum creativity. I can express myself through contrasting or complementary
shades.
The system lends itself to a variety of creative set-ups able to generate design solutions in various colours and finishes.

Printed images, photographs, translucent, opaque, satinised and metallic effects, or particular styles of weaves can adorn
or decorate the sheet used, making each creation a unique, distinctive product with original touches.

19. I am ACOUSTIC
Sono in grado di sonorizzare ambienti, di isolare o esaltare il suono. Di circoscriverlo in un perimetro delimitato o di esten-
derlo su una vasta scala di lunghezze.
Grazie all’impiego di pannelli fonoassorbenti, perforati a seconda delle esigenze, la sonorizzazione rappresenta una delle caratte-
ristiche più funzionali del Texilight® System.
Tale materiale, infatti, consente di migliorare la qualità acustica degli ambienti in cui è richiesta una propagazione ottimale del
suono: uffici open space, ristoranti, sale cinematografiche, auditorium, chiese, sale da concerto, call center, etc., riducendo drasti-
camente l’effetto di inquinamento acustico.

niristiche, sorprendenti, con volumi e forme tridimensionali, all’avanguardia e al contempo funzionali, con l’obiettivo
di vivere il presente costantemente proiettati al futuro e all’innovazione.
I throw the door to the future wide open, inspecting and researching with curiosity and ambition. Armed with
a pair of binoculars, I try to see the horizon and see how far I can go.
The Texilight® System is the response to contemporary experiments and constant updates aimed at techno-
logical development and change. In fact, the System allows us to outline futuristic, surprising solutions with
three-dimensions volumes and shapes, both avant-garde and functional, with the aim of living in the now but
always with an eye to the future and innovation.
Such a System exceeds geographical limitations, architectural strongholds and intellectual taboosm reaching
places the mind struggles to find.

Per noi innovazione tecnologica è sinonimo di evoluzione creativa. Lo dimostrano le nu-
merose soluzioni di architettura tessile che ideiamo e realizziamo, che nonostante presen-
tino aspetti funzionali estremamente all’avanguardia, esibiscono una spiccata ricercatezza
nell’estetica e nel design.
