Mandibular Lateral Incisors
~ central incisor but larger
Wider and longer than central incisors
Cingulum more developed than central incisors
Root of mandibular lateral incisor is longer,
narrower and more tapered than that of the
central
Less blunt at apex than mandibular central
Mesial depression on lateral incisor only
Distal longitudinal groove lateral incisor only
4. Mandibular Lateral Incisors
From labial or lingual aspect, incisal outline
slopes slightly toward distal, with a
resultant distoincisal angle which is more
rounded, as is distal margin of crown.
Distal margin is also a little shorter.
Cingulum and marginal ridges are usually a
little larger, and lingual fossa is a little
deeper.

5. Mandibular Lateral Incisors
From incisal, crown is not quite
symmetrical like the central, since cingulum
bulges toward distal
Root may present a distal curvature in its
apical third & has a distal longitudinal
groove
