2. Tamara de Lempicka was born in Warsaw, Poland under
the rulership of the Russian Empire in 16th May 1898 into a
rich and important family.
In 1910 she painted her first work, a portraitr of her
sister. In 1911 she made a trip to Italy with her grand-
mother, where she discovere her passion for art.
In 1916 she married in St. Petersburg
to a polish lawyer, Tadeusz Lempicki,
who led a luxurious life until he went to
prison because of political reasons, but
she got him out of prison and they moved
to Copenhagen.
In 1923 they moved to Paris, where her only child was born,
Kizette. In 1927, her “Kizette on the balcony “ received the
firt prize at the International Exhibition of Bordeaur.
Tamara exhibited her paintings in Art Deco style in
various galleries to Paris and in 1960 she changed her style
passing to abstraction.
Tamara died in Cuernavaca in 18th March 1980.
