5. Operational Zones and Functions
KPIs set & compared across 4 op zones and across 7 functions.
Activities of Women and Children are carried out in four(4) operational
zones across the State. (Ogbomoso, Saki, Ibadan/Ibarapa and Oyo
zones). The under listed statutory functions are carried out in order to
reach the Physically Challenged, Women and Children at the grassroots.

6. Vision and Mission
• Vision:
Provide an enabling environment where the rights to survival,
protection and development of the people, more especially the most
vulnerable groups, including their empowerment to participate in, and
benefit from the socio-economic development process.
• Mission:
To work in collaboration with relevant stakeholders towards ensuring
gender mainstreaming in policy formulation, planning and budgeting
process especially in the critical areas of concern, such as Child Care,
Health, Education, Resettlement and Relief. This is with a view to
ensuring the rights to survival, protection, development and
participation of the vulnerable groups i.e. women, children, aged
people, people living with disabilities, destitutes and the less
privileged generally, with the aim of attaining the Millennium
development Goals (MDGS).

Perform needs assessment on care facilities for various vulnerable groups including orphanages,
homeless shelter & women health care centres, rural development schemes. Review rural
development schemes. The participation of women in entrepreneurial activities with special focus on 1
women in rural areas; also an orphan needs audit.
Identify corporate and multilateral partners including NGOs and FBOs.
Establishment of networks among women focused organisations through the development of a

compendium of such organisations.
Sensitization of target groups and Stakeholders on Ministry Goals. Start child HIV care campaign
|(focusing on reducing mother to child transmission rate). Start child right campaign. Start campaign

against child abuse.
Advocacy visits and sensitization for all forms of Discrimination Against Women . Raise
Contingency fund for Women Rescue Operation. Provision of Help desk facilities and trainings in
