Pack the Park: Dear Friends Letter
1.
October 20, 2009
Dear Friends of Pack the Park,
Hello to all, as a friend of Pack the Park myself, I’ve written this memo to share more
detailed insight into the organization and the Pack the Park quest. I apologize in
advance for the length of this communication, but I believe a comprehensive account is
necessary for to fully appreciate our history and future.
I am confident that when you become familiar with the essence of Pack the Park, all will
agree that Pack the Park offers genuine synchronicity with the philosophy of Kyosei "All
people, regardless of race, religion or culture, harmoniously living and working together
into the future.” Further, Pack the Park directly aligns with President Obama’s new
recovery and renewal initiative “United We Serve,” which supports his vision of
“rebuilding the foundation of our country one community at a time.”
The concept of Pack the Park is very simple—celebrate citizens across the globe who
have dedicated their lives to local community service, then, refurbish or build a greenwise
park in their honor and use each build event as a living classroom.
There are several integrated functional groups and implementation standards that must
coalesce to activate a Pack the Park event:
1. Local municipalities donate a pre‐prepared park site (park site must be
optimized to meet green sustainability standards)
2. Local business leaders direct a community fundraising campaign (contributions
are used to fund park building materials and related event expenditures)
3. Local volunteer contractors and organizations are enlisted to install the park
(which takes place over a two‐day event)
4. The event serves as an accredited living class‐room setting for multimedia,
photography, and design students from universities.
5. The events also serves as a platform for green innovators and educators to share
ideas, products and future concepts with the community
6. Construction/delivery vehicles and park construction materials are optimized
and selected for their environmental sustainability and green‐wise qualifications
7. Corporate sponsors donate sporting and or playground equipment as required

2. Note: Each event is completely documented in HD and still photography with the
intent of sharing the Pack the Park story with the world via a documentary film and
a network television edutainment series.
Pack the Park Benefits ‐
Communities are mobilized to celebrate local “heroes” and in the process spirits are
lifted, students are educated and green parks are established for the enjoyment of all.
Each park will serve as the catalyst to a grass roots green movement that will grow
throughout the community.
Pack the Park Milestones ‐
Early In 2007 ‐ Mil Canon, a Savannah Georgia native filmmaker and photographer, was
inspired to reengage communities through an American Ball Parks movement. Mil’s
goals were to bring a community and its children together again at the ballpark and to
ultimately have a local park named to honor his grandfather, E.E. Lennox Sr., who had
dedicated his life to giving back through his support of youth sports and public parks in
Savannah.
June 16th, 2007 ‐ the first Pack the Park event was held at Grayson Stadium in Savannah
(home of New York Mets farm‐team the SandGnats,), nearly 3000 people attended.
Prior to the event, U.S. Congressman, Jack Kingston and Mil arranged to have a U.S. flag
flown over the White House in Washington D.C. in honor of Pack the Park. The flag was
presented to the city of Savannah at the event. Savannah city officials presented a
proclamation in honor of Pack the Park and the E.E. Lennox Memorial Lifetime
Achievement Award was established in honor of Mil's grandfather.
Georgia Governor, Sonny Perdue, signs a proclamation on April 24th, 2008, dedicating
Pack the Park as an American Ballpark Movement. Congressman, Jack Kingston presents
Mil with the Governors proclamation on April 26th at second Pack the Park event, nearly
4000 people attend.
June 18th, 2008 ‐ Governor, Sonny Perdue invites Mil to the Georgia State Capitol to
officially present the American Ballpark Movement proclamation to him and Pack the
Park. The Governor declares, “It is programs like Pack the Park that renew the spirit in
America.” Additionally on this day, the 2007 Little League World Champions from
Warner Robbins, GA served as Youth Ambassadors, their memorabilia along with an
official White House U. S. flag was dedicated to the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
October 1, 2009 ‐ The Art Institute of Atlanta becomes an education partner with Pack
the Park and agrees to develop a "living‐classroom" in cooperation with ImageMil
Studios of Atlanta, GA. 40 honor students will document the 2010 Pack the Park event.
As part of their curriculum, the students will be directed and supervised by industry
leaders and AI faculty. The HD footage and still images acquired will be made available
for future documentary and network television series purposes produced and directed
by Imagemil Studios.

concert with the Pack the Park anthem sessions.
October 7, 2009 ‐ Tree Studios, Atlanta, GA (one of the world's only "green" optimized
and operated recording studios) agrees to partner with Pack the Park. Tree Studios will
host, record, co‐executive produce and publish the Pack the Pack anthem. Several
members of The Atlanta chapter of the Grammy’s will write, produce and perform the
anthem.
October 16, 2009 – The Georgia Music Hall of Fame agrees to recognize the Pack the
Park “Calling all Voices” session at Tree Sound Studios an historic Georgia music event.
The final recording and music video will be dedicate to The Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
November 21, 2009 ‐ The Georgia music community will unite to embrace the
movement and to add their voice to Pack the Park sending a message to the world as an
inspiration to all. ImageMil Studio Founder and multi‐award winning film & television
director, Mil Cannon is “Calling All Voices” to celebrate the Pack the Park movement.
Composers, producers, songwriters and artists will unite for this historic event to
record the anthem and music video that will inspire communities throughout our
country and around the world. The video (scheduled for release in late December) will
commemorate those who have dedicated themselves to local public service and to the
preservation of our Mother Earth.
February 13, 2010 ‐ The city of Savannah will celebrate Georgia Day. The Georgia
Historical Society is inducting Ted Turner and Hank Aaron as trustees of the state. The
goal is to synchronize the next Pack the Park event with this celebration and to build
and dedicate the very first Pack the Park park.
