The play begins with a fight between the Capulet and Montague families in Verona. Romeo, a Montague, falls in love with Juliet, a Capulet, at a party. They marry secretly but their love is torn apart when Romeo kills Juliet's cousin Tybalt and is banished. Romeo and Juliet devise a plan with Friar Laurence to reunite but a miscommunication leads them both to tragically take their own lives after thinking the other is dead, ending the long-standing feud between their families.
