Sikhism believes in one God that guides and protects them, known as Guru Nanak. They believe that everyone is equal before God and that good actions are more important than rituals. Sikhs are guided to serve others, be generous, treat everyone equally, live honestly and work hard, and keep God in their heart and mind at all times. Important texts include the Guru Granth Sahib and they celebrate festivals such as Vaisakhi, Diwali, and Maghi to commemorate events in Sikh history. The five K's are articles of faith that Sikhs wear or keep with them.
