18. According to the 2008 Report on Poverty provided by the U.S. Census Bureau, 20% of all children live in poverty.

20. The number one reason students drop out of high school is “lack of motivation”.

22. According to a 2009 study, 21.3 million children are being raised by a single parent. 61% of those families are below the poverty level.

24. In 2009, The Alliance for Education reported that over 700,000 students who begin 9 th grade will not graduate in the United States.

26. 760,000 teens will become pregnant this year. 2/3’s of them will not graduate.

28. 2.5 million teens age 12 through 17 were incarcerated in 2008.

30. In 2008, the National Lunch Program provided 31 million children with free lunch. For some this is the only hot meal of the day.
