1. Kira’s Reflection
• Characters
- Kira Mendez [if the killer is a girl]
- James Kira Waistow [if the killer is a guy]
- Miko Yu [Close Friend of killer][does not die throughout movie]
- James Taylor [The person who killed ‘Kira’] [James is not in the rest of movie
only in flashback. He is mentioned to have brain damage and can not think or see
anything]
- Jedrick Taylor [Brother. Also the one use for bait. Does not die until the very end]
- Vincent ‘Vinnie’ Mozante [first person to die after he brought up Kira’s name]
- Samantha Ratio Ordel [first person to die in the opening sequence, she just slept
with her boyfriend Vinnie for the first time]
- Nicola ‘Nicky’ Price [suspects Miko Yu to be ‘Kira’ and tries to kill her however
‘Kira’ gets to Nicky through her reflection on a knife]
- Susanna Kay Rose [Dies in park after looking at Reflection in puddle or lake]
- Ryan Dominic [Survivor]
- Andres Bjorn Miti [close friend to the Taylor brothers, also suspects Miko but
survives]
- KIRA in Japanese means Killer.

• 1hr 30 Minutes- 2hr (movie)
• Horror movie- Killer is a Teenager/ Youth.
• Based on the ‘Candy man’; ‘Jason’ and ‘The Nightmare on Elm Street’
• Basically the story is about a teenager who was ridiculed and made fun of
throughout his/her life before his/ her death- whereby he/she was beaten and
killed in a toilet. Where his/her reflection of him/her bleeding and anguished was
the last thing he/she saw.
• 6 years has passed, whereby everyone has grown up, lived a better and a good
life. The killing begins. The teenager still in her past form, a wondering ghost; a
cursed victim.
• He/she kills through peoples reflections. The first death is Samantha, as she
thought of the trouble she and the rest caused on KIRA. Then Vinnie as Kira
either liked either of them. [if girl liked Vinnie. If guy liked Samantha]
• The way he/she kills them, whatever happens in the mirror i.e. ‘Kira’ slices the
victim’s throat the actual person’s throat will also be sliced. Though the death of
the reflection and the actual person are not simultaneous. [the death of the
reflection dies first then like a second later the person is starting to die]
• A huge group of the classmates i.e. the list of characters above realize that
somehow and someone is trying to get them, that typical group and also they have
a wrong suspicion that it only occurs in the bathroom.
• To test out the theory/ suspicion the group tries to stay away from their toilets and
bathroom. Which fails as Susanna walks in the park to get away from it all and

stares at a figure on the shimmering puddle or lake and dies. Her reflection
drowns, so she loses air and water is left near her body.
• Miko, Andres and Nicky are there to witness it and Andres and Nicky suspects
Miko they go to Miko’s house and Nicky finds messages on the toilet mirror.
‘They will suffer as I suffer’ [irony Miko is not killer. Though she was a friend to
Kira]
• Nicky and Andres leaves and rush to tell others. Miko by herself. Gets a visit
from Kira. She runs around the house she is followed wherever her reflection is
seen. She is not killed, only warned that if she tells anyone she will die as well.
That is when she realizes the true way of how the people have died. [shiny
objects/ surfaces/ reflective objects etc]
• Miko tells everyone, though no one believes her because of Nicky and Andres. So
she tries to punk off Jedrick to be bait as she knew that he and his brother took the
most pissed out of Kira. [Audience knows that they were the ones who killed
Kira]
• Jedrick hesitated but as usual he said Ok. He is in a bathroom of his house, where
the rest are outside of the door waiting for something to happen, nothing happens
ntil he turns around and says ‘ this is bull’ and the reflection on the mirror Jedrick
is getting strangle with wire. The group rushes in and breaks the mirror. He is
saved.
• The groups are scared and are wondering how to stop him/ her. This when Jedrick
owns up to his crime 6 years ago as they got away with no one knowing what had
caused Kira’s death.
• They go back to the abandoned school toilet/ bathroom where Kira was killed and
he/she cursed the reflections. The school was a dance/ theatre school – meaning
mirrors where everywhere.
• Everyone is faced in an enclosed dance studio where mirrors are at every side.
The whole group, started to call out ‘Kira’ three times and said ‘we allow you to
rest we are no longer a virtue to you, you are free. The figure of Kira appeared on
the mirrors. They all asked for forgiveness/ begged. But then, a mirror cracked
where Jedrick’s reflection was at and Jedrick fell to the floor. A smirk appeared
on Kira’s face and vanished, on the smoggy mirror written in blood. ‘Losses are
losses and I lost a lot. They killed me, but know I can rest’
• Funeral- of those who past away because of Kira. Miko leaves last. And it is
raining. A big puddle. Of rain and tears on the floor, appears Kira, with Miko’s
picture , with a Grim Smirk Kira rips it and Miko is left there in anguish.
5 Areas of Technical Analysis
Of the Opening Sequence conventions.
In Kira’s Reflection’s opening sequence a woman is in a bed with boyfriend/ or husband,
connoting peacefulness, the camera closes up to the eye of the woman, special effects
such as black and white frame, fades into the subconscious mind of her thinking of a
teenager that was killed 6years ago. Jump cuts of 2005 on the wall and to her waking up

to look at the alarm clock where it shows 2011 signifying that it has been 6 years. She
staggers towards the bathroom. The camera shot at a low angle facing upwards and as she
starts to make her way to the bathroom the camera follows her- tracking shot. The woman
feels anguished and stupefied so the camera uses a sway effect (handheld camera) to give
the audience a sense of uneasiness, the soundtrack is silent only thing that can be heard
are the diagetic sounds such as the silent footsteps, the cold uneasy breathing and the
running of the tap water. Then, the non-diagetic composed music (which I will hopefully
get to do) will play, it will control the pace signifying something is going to happen. The
camera fades to her looking at herself in the mirror, then, a figure appears, rapid jump
cuts and cuts are used to show that Kira is only in one place, the mirror; during this time
the music becomes immensely intense. The woman has a strange look on her face- a
sense of discuss. Then, the camera pans towards the mirror and the figure of Kira is
slitting the throat of the women’s reflection.
