Thematic analysis is a qualitative research method that involves identifying patterns in data and organizing them into themes. It involves coding the data to categorize and identify major themes. Imagineering is summarized as a blend of creativity/imagination and engineering/technical knowledge that is used by Disney and others to design theme parks, attractions, and other experiences through applying existing scientific knowledge.

Let’s do a quick & dirty thematic analysis on the
question what is imagineering?
Step 1) Google what is imagineering
Step 2) Select what is relevant
Step 3) Find code, theme, count and analylize
Step 4) Make a map and analylize what matters

Imagineering is a blend word between imagination and
engineering. Imagineering is value creation and value
innovation from the experience perspective, is an
approach towards value creation attuned to the
creative economy. It is a way to create a new,
appealing ‘lens’ to find ‘a blue ocean of uncontested
market space’ that inspires all stakeholders to co-
create. In other words, Imagineering is the design
process by which an imaginative artifact is brought

Imagineering is a portmanteau word which combines imagination
and engineering. The term is most often associated with the Disney
corporation, which maintains an enormous staff of imagineers to
design new rides, resorts, water parks, hotels, theme parks,
branded cruise ships, and other Disney real estate holdings. It
also applies to other industries where staffs of highly trained
individuals work together to develop and execute a concept, usually
on a large scale like a theme park or branded
hotel. Imagineering is a demanding, fun, and interesting career,
and people with all sorts of skills can become part of
an imagineering team. wisegeek.com

Realize!
Thematic analysis heavenly relies on the researcher’s
interpretation and how he codes the themes based on the
lens through which he sees the world. Language plays a
prominent role in the way we order the themes and give
sense to it.
