PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Nokia Inc., Saint Louis, Missouri (Contractor)
Senior RF Engineer, Jul 2015 – Jun 2016
As RAN SME, I was responsible for Ericsson LTE network QC (Quality Control) in Sprint’s RAN (Radio
access Network) – around 900 sites.
Achieved 96% of the LTE sectors FREE of MOD 3 interference (PSS), with 2% convergence compared to
Alteryx.
The QC was related to the optimization activities related to HO (intra, inter, I-RAT), Random Access,
mobility layer, Inter Frequency Load Balancing, 2nd
carrier on 1900, MRO etc.
Provided QA (Quality Control) procedures and tools to manage and analyze the Ericsson LTE network
root causes of quality issues, and to support the optimization activity (QC).
The QA procedures were related to daily management and analysis of network KPIs issues related to
CFR (RRC conn), CDR, tonnage, avg DL/UL Throughput , PRB utilization and eNB availability.
Developed QA reports for cross analysis of network configuration, events and measurements counters.
Also created geo referenced reports on MapInfo and Google Earth concatenating existing data from OSS
and Planet database.
These reports supported cluster audits for TAC, PCI, etilt, TA, RSSI UL, Top Offenders, features status
and adjustments, and events analysis for optimization.
Experienced with tools like Ericsson OSS GUI, MOS Shell, CRT, PRTS, and ENIQ, Planet, MapInfo,
Provided analysis of cluster drive-test using WindCatcher, and proposed coverage and HO adjustments.
Provided consulting expertise on multiband (1900 MHz, 850MHz and 2500 MHz) and multi Vendors
2. 2
environment (Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung).
Ericsson Inc., Plano, Texas (Employee)
Service Engineer III, 2011 - 2015
As Design SME, provided consulting and leadership for LTE and UMTS (RAN) projects for cellular
operators (AT&T & Sprint).
Focused on project milestones and with a focus on QC (Quality Control), as LTE design staff
augmentation team leader, provided RF design consulting for AT&T in North Texas Market. Delivered
more than 4,000 RFDSs and RNDCIQs (checklist) for LTE and UMTS carriers expansion as well as for
new sites. Excelled on plumbing diagram using MS Visio, providing a highly reliable antennas and
equipment diagrams for RFDSs.
Delivered the RF LTE design for infill sites (850MHz, 1900 MHz and AWS) in El Paso using Atoll and
ACP, with a high quality criteria according to AT&T. Delivered more than twenty search rings for design of
new sites to AT&T. Supported the UMTS and LTE pre-post launch optimization team on LTE second
carrier and UMTS carving, with design and antennas system configuration.
For Sprint in DFW and East Texas Sub Markets, accomplished 100% LTE site audits (QC) with no errors
and ready to launch during integration audits.
Designed 120 new LTE sites for AT&T in Up State New York Market (700 MHz) using Atoll and ACP. All
KPIs were reached and the design solutions accepted by the customer with no restrictions.
As a contractor (2011), designed 150 new LTE sites for AT&T in Boston Area (New Haven and Yale) (700
MHz) using Atoll and ACP. All KPIs were reached and the design solutions accepted by customer without
restrictions.
Vivo S.A. (Telefonica), Belo Horizonte, Brazil (Employee)
Consultant of Network Engineering, 2004 - 2011
As RAN SME, compiled 2 RFPs for GSM RAN and 1 RFP for UMTS RAN for cellular coverage in Minas
Gerais State, Brazil. Led the technical analysis of the proposals related to RAN. The RFPs were
completed 3 weeks before the deadline defined by the Engineering Director.
The RFPs were recognized by the shareholders as well as by the bidders (Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola,
Alcatel and Huawei), as outstanding according to schedules and technical requirements.
Managed the project activities related to the RF team during the initial design and installation of more than
800 GSM sites (Ericsson). Interacted with other teams – real state, civil works, transmission etc. to
achieve the milestones expected by shareholders.
Managed the project activities related to the RF team during the phases of design, installation, launch and
optimization of 200 GSM sites (Huawei). Interacted with other teams to achieve the milestones expected
by shareholders. This project launched according to the RFP schedule and was evaluated as a Best in
Class KPIs in all Minas Gerais State submarkets (Minas Gerais – pop. 18 mi). The design included three
new DAS solutions (Repeater, passive DAS and small cell / active DAS) for shopping malls.
As team leader, led the first UMTS RAN trial in South America - Belo Horizonte, 2007 with 34 sites in 850
MHz. Lead the design, launch and optimization of UMTS RAN (350 sites) in 2100 MHz Band until 2010.
Achieved Huawei’s Partners Award, for technical performance and partnership to create the first
successful Huawei GSM network in South America. Shanghai, China, 2006.
Claro Brasil (America Movil), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Radio Access Network Specialist 2001 – 2004
Managed the RF design and optimization team in Sao Paulo State (except Sao Paulo metro area).
Managed the project activities related to RF GSM BSS (Siemens & Ericsson) design of approximately
1400 sites in Sao Paulo State (population 34 mi) using Planet.
The Sao Paulo city metro area was designed with 70% of the new sites being co-located with other
3. 3
companies - this advanced the launch milestone in 4 months.
Responsible for the final edition of the GSM BSS RPF for the national network - Brazil. The RFP (4,000
sites) was ready in three months and was recognized as a remarkable deliverable the shareholder.
