Dear Parents,
The following are the summer requirements I am asking students to complete.
Reading: All students must read, The Stories Julian Tells by Ann Cameron. In addition, students will choose one
other book, within their individual Lexile Range, from the following list:
Lexile 300-400: Lexile 400-500: Lexile 500+:
• The Littles Series (any book) by John • Bailey School Kids Series (any book) by • How to Eat Fried Worms by
Peterson Debbie Dadey et., all Thomas Rockwell
• Cam Jansen Series by David Adler • Good Grief 3rd Grade by Colleen • Pippi Longstockings by Astrid
• I was a 3rd Grade Science Project by O'Shaughnessy McKenna Lindgren
Mary Jane Auch • Time Warp Trio: 2095 by Jon Scieszka • Encyclopedia Brown by Donald
J. Sobol
* PLEASE NOTE: Your child's individual Lexile range can be found on TerraNova Home Report. Assessments and
reading projects will be assigned the first week of school.
Math:
The Summer Math Packet I am asking students to complete will be available for download on the school website soon
(http://www.assumptioncatholicschool.net). The purpose is to give the children a good basis for Third Grade Math. As
parents, you should correct the pages as your child completes each one so as not to reinforce errors. Each child who
completes this packet and returns it by the end of the first week of school will be given a grade of 100% for the first
test grade.
Acellus:
Each child received his/her username and password for Acellus. Each student has access to at least four courses
(reading, math, science, social studies). Each course would take about 2 hours per week to complete in 10 weeks. It
is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that students work on the new program, progress will be monitored.
Make sure your child's name and your signature are on this paper. If you cannot find your child's Lexile range or
their Acellus username and/or password, please contact the main office at 732-826-8721 or myself at
acspatridabernstein@gmail.com.
Thank you for your cooperation. Have a great summer!

  • 2. June 2013 Dear Parents, The following are the summer requirements I am asking students to complete. Reading: All students must read, The Stories Julian Tells by Ann Cameron. In addition, students will choose one other book, within their individual Lexile Range, from the following list: Lexile 300-400: Lexile 400-500: Lexile 500+: • The Littles Series (any book) by John • Bailey School Kids Series (any book) by • How to Eat Fried Worms by Peterson Debbie Dadey et., all Thomas Rockwell • Cam Jansen Series by David Adler • Good Grief 3rd Grade by Colleen • Pippi Longstockings by Astrid • I was a 3rd Grade Science Project by O'Shaughnessy McKenna Lindgren Mary Jane Auch • Time Warp Trio: 2095 by Jon Scieszka • Encyclopedia Brown by Donald J. Sobol * PLEASE NOTE: Your child's individual Lexile range can be found on TerraNova Home Report. Assessments and reading projects will be assigned the first week of school. Math: The Summer Math Packet I am asking students to complete will be available for download on the school website soon (http://www.assumptioncatholicschool.net). The purpose is to give the children a good basis for Third Grade Math. As parents, you should correct the pages as your child completes each one so as not to reinforce errors. Each child who completes this packet and returns it by the end of the first week of school will be given a grade of 100% for the first test grade. Acellus: Each child received his/her username and password for Acellus. Each student has access to at least four courses (reading, math, science, social studies). Each course would take about 2 hours per week to complete in 10 weeks. It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that students work on the new program, progress will be monitored. Make sure your child's name and your signature are on this paper. If you cannot find your child's Lexile range or their Acellus username and/or password, please contact the main office at 732-826-8721 or myself at acspatridabernstein@gmail.com. Thank you for your cooperation. Have a great summer! Student's Name: Parent's Signature:
