Presenting - a Product

At the end of this lesson you will be able to:
• Understand the structure of a presentation
• Use signposting language
• Use linking language
• Prepare and deliver a presentation

Signposting
• A presentation is a journey, we need to explain:
– where we are going
– how we are moving on with the presentation
– How we need to close it.
• Smooth structure to this journey is needed
• A key element is the signposting language which helps our audience see where
they are in the presentation and where they are going.

• Linking properly is essential in a presentation to show logical thinking and
coherence.
• There are particular words we can use and they serve different functions.
• A variety of linking language is also important.

• Referring to points you have made earlier can add coherence, whilst referring to
