BACKGROUND
 Repeated instances of complaints from Employees on cafeteria operations.
 Decreasing level of cleanliness and poor quality of food were complaints
frequently received.
 General nature of complaints.
 Many employees discontinued using canteen facility even though the meal is
subsidized.

A committee consisting of nominated representatives of all the
divisions were constituted by VP- HR. to improve the Cafeteria
performance

IMPROVING THE SERVICES OF TAJ SATS. – STAGE 1
 Meeting with senior representatives of Taj sats 0n 12th Aug.
• Complaints and dissatisfaction levels on poor performance conveyed.
• Action plan to improve the services of Tajsats discussed and finalized.
• Tajsats assures to immediate improvement.
• Infrastructure snag list prepared and rectified on priority.
• It is assessed that more than 50% of Tajsats revenue at cafeteria is from non BIAL staff.
• Weekly food Menu.
• Cleanliness in cafeteria.
• Different menu for Lunch and Dinner.
• Improve food quality on holidays
• Portioning of Non veg items.
• Improve cartulary availability etc.
Based on the above assurances it was
decided to monitor the improvements
for one month.

• 78% of the employees responded were unhappy with the services of
the present caterer.
• More than 70% of the employees were dissatisfied with the meal
format presently followed.
• Employees prefer limited meals to full meals.
• North Indian South Indian Mix of menu is preferred by BIAL
employees.

June 2, 2023 TEAM IMPROVING THE SERVICES OF TAJ SATS. – STAGE 1  Meeting with senior representatives of Taj sats 0n 12th Aug. • Complaints and dissatisfaction levels on poor performance conveyed. • Action plan to improve the services of Tajsats discussed and finalized. • Tajsats assures to immediate improvement. • Infrastructure snag list prepared and rectified on priority. • It is assessed that more than 50% of Tajsats revenue at cafeteria is from non BIAL staff. • Weekly food Menu. • Cleanliness in cafeteria. • Different menu for Lunch and Dinner. • Improve food quality on holidays • Portioning of Non veg items. • Improve cartulary availability etc. Based on the above assurances it was decided to monitor the improvements for one month.
  • 5. June 2, 2023 TEAM OBSERVATION PERIOD – STAGE 2 . Actions Observations. Visit to Taj sats Facility to asses their process Facilities at Tajsats were world-class. Weekly Menu rotation Taj sats only complied for 2 weeks. No response for further weeks even after follow ups. Monitoring of employee complaints Complaints were less for 2- 3 week. Supervision at cafeteria Lack of response from Tajsats. Response Luke warm approach. No initiative to improve. Repeated complaints from employees.

June 2, 2023 TEAM ONLINE SURVEY. – STAGE 3  Online survey was conducted among the employees. • 78% of the employees responded were unhappy with the services of the present caterer. • More than 70% of the employees were dissatisfied with the meal format presently followed. • Employees prefer limited meals to full meals. • North Indian South Indian Mix of menu is preferred by BIAL employees. . Committee is advised to look for alternative service providers for cafeteria in 18 th October 2010
