This document introduces the Lean Startup methodology. It defines a startup as an organization dedicated to creating something new under conditions of extreme uncertainty. The Lean Startup process involves building, measuring, and learning from minimum viable products (MVPs) to validate ideas outside of the building. An example Lean Canvas for a social media metrics tool is provided, outlining its value proposition, key activities, resources, customer segments, channels, and revenue streams. Real-world startup examples that have used Lean principles are also mentioned.
