Week-2 Assignment Ethics Due January 08, 2017
An important question regarding the boundaries of competence is the extent of training required to learn a new skill. For example, Miller and Rose (2009) have concluded that research on training in motivational interviewing (MI) suggests that the day-to-day practice of providers typically does not substantially change after this brief exposure to MI.
For this assignment, begin by selecting a new technique such as motivational interviewing, and then locate and review a minimum of five articles, which discuss the length and intensity of training required to be effective and competent in your selected technique. In Annotated Bibliographic format, review, summarize, and evaluate the selected articles and their conclusions. Review the results, and then provide, in your own words, a 2 to 3-paragraph summary, including your recommendations. Be sure to cite the basis for your conclusions.
Length: Annotated Bibliography for the five articles and 2 to 3-paragraph summary, not including title and reference pages
Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. .

a letter to the management company. If you agree to write that

Assume that a major component of an undergraduate course in
child growth and development you are teaching involves the
Signature Assignment. This assignment requires you to relate
the Eriksonian stages to autobiographical data and biographical

requirement, the student files a complaint with the department
chair.
Create a transcript of the dialogue between you and the
department chair, Dr. Kweigg, who supports the student.
Examine the possible conflicts between your assignment criteria
and Standard 7.04, providing specific examples to support your
reasoning for not changing the assignment. Explain how you
will resolve the situation, given the department chair agrees
with the student who filed the complaint.

8. Week- 7 Assignment Ethics Feburary 12, 2017
One major criticism of the Stanley Milgram study on obedience
was his use of deception, which is viewed as a violation of the
autonomy of the subjects. APA Standard 8.07 places limits on
the use of deception. In their review of the arguments for and
against the use of deception, Bortolotti and Mameli (2006)
conclude that the use of methodological deception is morally
permissible.
For this assignment, review their article and summarize their
main points for and against the use of deception. Then, using
the Stanley Milgram study and the Jerry Burger (Burger, 2009)
replication as examples, present your own conclusion for or
against the use of deception. Provide detailed examples to
support your findings and arguments.
It is recommended that you support your assignment with at
least three scholarly or professional resources. In addition to
these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources,
including older articles, may be included.

9. Week 8 Assignment Ethics Due Feburary 19, 2017
While working late in your position as assistant director of
educational assessment at the Psychological Assessment
Institute in Rancho Cucamonga, California, you observed one of
the maintenance personnel on a coffee break watching videos of
what appears to be children posing nude. Since you are a
licensed psychologist working in California, you consider
whether you need to report this under Assembly Bill 1775
amendment to the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act. In
other states, domestic violence must be reported if you are an
employee of a healthcare facility. Whether the Psychological
Assessment Institute falls under that category would have to be
determined. In other states, there is a duty to warn or protect.
For this assignment, review the laws and professional
regulations in your state regarding mandated reporters and other
reporting requirements. Cite the specific state regulations and
find all relevant ethical principles and standards to the 2002
“Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct.” Be
sure to include a discussion of the 2010 Amendments. No matter
the state or country, include a discussion of your moral
obligation.
Support your assignment with at least seven scholarly and
professional resources. In addition to these specified resources,
other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles,
may be included.
