PRESENT SIMPLE 
 We use this verb tense to express: 
- habits or things that we do regularly. 
- when something is generally true. 
- for a situation that we think is more or less 
permanent.
VERB “TO BE” 
(VERBO SER O ESTAR) 
Afirmative Examples 
 I am (I’m) I am Peter 
 You are (You’re) You are teacher 
 He is (He’s) He is tall 
 She is (She’s) She is Spanish 
 It is (It’s) It is a blue pen 
 We are (We’re) We are women 
 You are (You’re) You are at home 
 They are (They’re) They are tired

 We can use the verb to introduce ourselves: 
We can say: 
Our name: My name is Marta / I am Marta. 
Our age: I am twenty years old. 
Our nationality: I am Spanish. 
Our job: I am housewife. 
 We can also speak with the verb to be about: 
- The weather. Today is sunny 
- To make descriptions. He is very tall 
- Etc.

OURSELVES: 
 We have to say: For example: 
- Our name. My name is Pilar. 
I’m Pilar 
- Our age. I am 39 years 
old.
