An object in grammar is a part of a sentence, and often
part of the predicate. It refers to someone or
something involved in the subject's "performance" of
the verb.
4. Leila wrote the poem
"Leila" is the subject, the doer or performer,
"wrote" is a verb that refers to the action,
"the poem" is the object involved in the action.
6. Verbs with direct and indirect objects
Is a sentence, a verb may have both a
direct object (the object the actio is done
to) and an indirect object (the person for
whom the action is done.
7. Different patterns
Two different patterns are possble. The
direct object can also come first,with the
indirect object preceded by for or to:
I sent an e-mail for her
I baked a cake for her
