A 39-year-old HIV-positive male presented with genital ulcers for 4 months. The ulcers developed from vesicles after unprotected sex with a sex worker. Examination showed ulcers on the penis. Tests confirmed herpes simplex virus infection. He was diagnosed with chronic genital herpetic ulcers and started on antiviral medication for treatment and suppression of outbreaks.
