The Minnesota Orchestra will be performing three pieces at an upcoming concert: Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev, excerpts from Maurice Ravel's Mother Goose Suite including "Laideronnette" and "The Enchanted Garden", and Hungarian Fantasy by Franz Liszt with a student pianist. Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf uses different instruments to represent characters and introduces children to the orchestra. Ravel's excerpts are from his Mother Goose Suite based on French fairy tales. Liszt's Hungarian Fantasy was originally for piano and later arranged for piano and orchestra.
