CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)
Presented by: Poonam Soni Concept and Meaning of CSR
CSR is about how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact of society. CSR is about capacity building for sustainable livelihoods. It respect culture differences and find the business opportunities in building the skills of the employees , the community and the government. DEFINITION OF CSR
Conducting business is an ethical way and in the interests of the winder community. Responding positively to emerging societal priorities and expectations. Balancing shareholder interests against the interests of the winder community. Being the good citizen in the community. Meaning of CSR
Indians companies are now expected to discharge their stakeholder responsibilities and societal obligation, along with their shareholder-wealth maximization goal. Nearly all leading corporates in India are involved in CSR programmes in areas like education, health, livelihood creation, skill development , and empowerment of weaker sections of the society. Notable efforts have come from the Tata group, Infosys, Bharti enterprises, ITC welcome group, Indian oil corporation among others. CSR in India
Infosys technology limited – Infosys actively involved in various community development programmes. Infosys promoted, in 1996 the Infosys foundation as a non-profit trust to which it contributes up to 1% PAT every year. Additionally the education and research department at Infosys also work with employee volunteers on community development projects. Infosys leadership has set examples in the area of corporate citizenship and has involved it has actively in key national bodies. They have taken initiatives to work in the area of Research and Education, Community Service, Rural Reach Programme, Employment, Welfare activities under taken by the Infosys Foundation, Healthcare for the poor, Education and Arts& Cultures.

  • 3. CSR is about how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact of society. CSR is about capacity building for sustainable livelihoods. It respect culture differences and find the business opportunities in building the skills of the employees , the community and the government. DEFINITION OF CSR
  • 4. Conducting business is an ethical way and in the interests of the winder community. Responding positively to emerging societal priorities and expectations. Balancing shareholder interests against the interests of the winder community. Being the good citizen in the community. Meaning of CSR
  • 5. Indians companies are now expected to discharge their stakeholder responsibilities and societal obligation, along with their shareholder-wealth maximization goal. Nearly all leading corporates in India are involved in CSR programmes in areas like education, health, livelihood creation, skill development , and empowerment of weaker sections of the society. Notable efforts have come from the Tata group, Infosys, Bharti enterprises, ITC welcome group, Indian oil corporation among others. CSR in India

Infosys promoted, in 1996 the Infosys foundation as a non-profit trust to which it contributes up to 1% PAT every year.
