2. Prayer to St. Rose
Help me to remember what is really
important: that I am Your child You are my
Father You love me for who I am and how I
live not what I look like or what I own. Let me
praise You Who sees into my heart, Who is
always with me and Who eases my suffering.
3. Facts about St. Rose
Patroness of Latin America and the
Philippines.
As a child was a hard worker and loved
to help her parents out in hard times.
She was beatified in 1667 by
Clement the IX.
In 1671, Saint Rose of Lima was
canonized Clement X.
She was the first American to be
honored so greatly.
Born in Lima, Peru on April 20,
1586.
Died there on August 24, 1617.
Suffered from temptation but
always knew God was there for
her.
4. Facts about St. Rose
St. Rose’s beauty became a problem
for her. Her mother would put flowers
on her head because she was so
proud of how pretty her daughter
was. Rose didn’t enjoy all the
attention and didn’t want to be
admired.
Her parents wanted her to get
married and settled down with
someone but she said she never
could do that. She loved Jesus so
much that when she talked about him
her face glowed and her eyes would
sparkle.
Her original name was Isabel.
As she grew up she became
an extremely beautiful girl.
Because of her beauty they
changed her name to Rose.
At a very young age St. Rose
gave her whole heart to Jesus.
She was devote in being
modest and living a pure life.
5. Things I Admire about my Patron Saint
The thing I admire most about St. Rose is how devoted she was to
Jesus as a young woman. Most women who are blessed with
natural beauty flaunt it in all the wrong ways. Most of them don’t
mind being the center of attention but that wasn’t the case for
Rose. She was satisfied with the love of Jesus Christ in her every
day life that she didn’t need to reach out and get that attention
from anyone else on earth. She was a very respectable, kind,
helpful, young woman who loved Jesus no matter what. That is
why I picked her to be my Patron Saint when I was confirmed.
6. How can we be like a
Saint?
Secondly Jesus gives us
opportunities everyday to do
the right things. We can
grow closer to who we are
by helping out whenever we
can. Always doing the right
thing should be something
we should strive for
everyday of our lives.
The first thing you should
work on is having a daily
relationship with Jesus.
Praying and talking to God
can help you grow in your
faith everyday. This can be
extremely important when
trying to stay true to yourself
and what you believe in.
7. How can we be like a
Saint?
These are only a few things
that you can do to be more like
one of your favorite saints.
Being humble and staying true
with your relationship with God
is what I think are the most
important things you can do to
reach the qualities of being a
saint. Doing these things aren’t
easy but knowing God is
always there helps.
One more thing we can do in
our everyday lives to live like a
saint is to not sin. Always be
thinking about what you are
doing. Would your actions hurt
your relationship with Jesus?
That is always a good question
to be thinking when you are
going about your everyday life.
