COVID-19: CORONA VIRUS
NATIONAL CORONA METER AS ON 11TH JUNE 2020
CAUSE & SYMPTOMS
1. Covid-19 is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2
that can trigger a upper respiratory tract
infection (sinuses, nose & throat) or lower
respiratory tract (windpipe & lungs).
2. It spreads the same way other coronaviruses
do, mainly through person-to-person contact.
Infections range from mild to deadly.
3. SARS-CoV-2 is one of seven types of
coronavirus, including the ones that cause
severe diseases like Middle East respiratory
syndrome (MERS) and sudden acute
respiratory syndrome (SARS). The other
coronaviruses cause most of the colds that
affect us during the year but aren’t a serious
threat for otherwise healthy people
4. Two strains named L and S are found.. The S
type is older, but the L type was more
common in early stages of the outbreak
The main symptoms include:
Fever
Coughing
Shortness of breath
Trouble breathing
Fatigue
Chills, sometimes with shaking
Body aches
Headache
Sore throat
Loss of smell or taste
Nausea
Diarrhea
The virus can lead to pneumonia, respiratory
failure, septic shock and death.
Many COVID-19 complications may be
caused by a condition known as cytokine
release syndrome or a cytokine storm. This is
when an infection triggers your immune
system to flood your bloodstream with
inflammatory proteins called cytokines. They
can kill tissue and damage your organs.
COMPARISON WITH COMMON COLD/FLU/ALLERGIES
If you’re infected, symptoms can show up in as
few as 2 days or as many as 14. It varies from
person to person.
According to researchers in China, these were
the most common symptoms among people who
had COVID-19:
Fever 99%
Fatigue 70%
Cough 59%
Lack of appetite 40%
Body aches 35%
Shortness of breath 31%
Mucus/phlegm 27%
Some people who are hospitalized for COVID-
19 have also have dangerous blood clots,
including in their legs, lungs, and arteries.

CORONAVIRUS TRANSMISSION
How does the coronavirus spread?
SARS-CoV-2, the virus, mainly spreads from person to person.
Most of the time, it spreads when a sick person coughs or
sneezes. They can spray droplets as far as 6 feet away. If you
breathe them in or swallow them, the virus can get into your
body. Some people who have the virus don't have symptoms, but
they can still spread the virus.
You can also get the virus from touching a surface or object the
virus is on, then touching your mouth, nose, or possibly your
eyes. Most viruses can live for several hours on a surface that
they land on. A study shows that SARS-CoV-2 can last for
several hours on various types of surfaces:
Copper: 4 hours
Cardboard: up to 24 hours
Plastic or stainless steel: 2 to 3 days
That’s why it’s important to disinfect surfaces to get rid of the
virus.
Some dogs and cats have tested positive for the virus. A few
have shown signs of illness. But there’s no evidence that humans
can catch this coronavirus from an animal.
How contagious is the coronavirus?
The transmission rate is relatively high. Early research has
estimated that one person who has it can spread it to between 2
and 2.5 others. One study found that the rate was higher, with
one case spreading to between 4.7 and 6.6 other people. By
comparison, one person who has the seasonal flu will pass it to
between 1.1 and 2.3 others.
We can work to lower the transmission rate by washing
hands often, keeping common surfaces clean, limiting contact
with other people, and wearing cloth face masks when we can’t
stay 6 feet away from others.
Can coronavirus be transmitted through groceries, packages,
or food?
You’re much more likely to get COVID-19 from another person
than from packages, groceries, or food. If you’re in a high-risk
group, stay home and use a delivery service or have a friend
shop for you. Have them leave the items outside your front door,
if you can. If you do your own shopping, try to stay at least 6
feet away from other shoppers. That isn’t always possible, so
wear a cloth face mask, too.
Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds before and after
bringing things into your home. The coronavirus can linger on
hard surfaces, so clean and disinfect countertops and anything
else your bags have touched. You can wipe down plastic, metal,
or glass packaging with soap and water if you want.
There’s no evidence that anyone has gotten COVID-19 from
food or food containers.
CORONAVIRUS VACCINE / TREATMENTNo vaccine yet, but scientists shared the
virus’s genetic makeup in January 2020.
Vaccine testing in humans started with record
speed in March 2020. More than 100
vaccine projects are in various phases of
development.
There’s no specific treatment for COVID-19.
People who get a mild case need care to
ease their symptoms, like rest, fluids, and
fever control. Take over-the-counter medicine
for a sore throat, body aches, and fever. But
don't give aspirin to children or teens
younger than 19.
You might have heard that you shouldn't take
ibuprofen to treat COVID-19 symptoms. But
the National Institutes of Health says people
who have the virus can use nonsteroidal anti-
inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or
acetaminophen as usual.
Antibiotics won’t help because they treat
bacteria, not viruses. If you hear about
people with COVID-19 getting antibiotics, it’s
for an infection that came along with the
disease.
Several studies are focused on an antiviral
medication called remdesivir, which was created
to fight Ebola. An emergency FDA ruling lets
doctors use it for people hospitalized with
COVID-19 and in clinical trials. Researchers in the
U.S. say remdesivir helped patients in one study
recover from the disease 31% faster.
The FDA also issued an emergency use ruling for
hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine. These
medications are approved to treat malaria and
autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis
and lupus.
Clinical trials are also under way for tocilizumab,
used to treat autoimmune conditions. Hospital use
of blood plasma from people who’ve had
COVID-19. You’ll hear this called convalescent
plasma.
Baba Ramdev ji has developed some Ayurvedic
medicine by 100hurbs, which is under clinical
trial
CORONAVIRUS PREVENTION
Wash your hands: often with soap and water or
clean them with an alcohol-based sanitizer. This
kills viruses on your hands.
Practice social distancing. Because you can have
and spread the virus without knowing it, you should
stay home as much as possible. If you do have to go
out, stay at least 6 feet away from others.
Cover your nose and mouth in public. If you have
COVID-19, you can spread it even if you don’t feel
sick. Wear a cloth face covering to protect others.
This isn’t a replacement for social distancing. You still
need to keep a 6-foot distance between yourself
and those around you. Don’t use a face mask meant
for health care workers.
Don’t touch your face. Coronaviruses can live on
surfaces you touch for several hours. If they get on
your hands and you touch your eyes, nose, or mouth,
they can get into your body.
Clean and disinfect. You can clean first with soap
and water, but disinfect surfaces you touch often, like
tables, doorknobs, light switches, toilets, faucets, and
sinks. Use a mix of household bleach and water (1/3
cup bleach per gallon of water, or 4 teaspoons
bleach per quart of water) Wear gloves when you
clean and throw them away when you’re done.
COVID-19 preparation tips
Make an emergency contact list. Include family, friends,
neighbors, carpool drivers, doctors, teachers,
employers, and the local health department.
work from home if your office is closed.
Surgical masks and N95 masks should be reserved for
health care workers and first responders.
Crowded places can raise your chances of getting
COVID-19. The CDC recommends against international
or cruise ship travel during the pandemic
Some officials are easing restrictions & allowing biz to
reopen. This doesn’t mean the virus is gone.
Social distancing or physical distancing, keeping
space between yourself and other people when you
have to go out
Quarantine keeping someone home and separated
from other people if they might have been exposed to
the virus
Isolation keeping sick people away from healthy
people, including using a separate “sick” bedroom and
bathroom when possible

TECHNOLOGY TREND 2020 ONWARDS
1. Technology is now evolving at such a rapid pace that annual
predictions of trends can seem out-of-date before they even go live as
a published blog post or article.
2. As technology evolves, it enables even faster change and progress,
causing an acceleration of the rate of change, until eventually, it will
become exponential.
3. Technology-based careers don’t change at the same speed, but they
do evolve, and the savvy IT professional recognizes that his or her
role will not stay the same.
4. And an IT worker of the 21st century will constantly be learning (out of
necessity if not desire).
5. What does this mean for you? It means staying current with
technology trends. And it means keeping your eyes on the future, to
know which skills you’ll need to know and what types of jobs you want
to be qualified to do.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Although technologies are emerging and evolving all around us, these technologies
offer promising career potential now and for the foreseeable future.
And all are suffering from a shortage of skilled workers, meaning the time is right for
you to choose one,
Get trained and get on board at the early stages of the technology, positioning you for
success now and in the future.

of potential job loss.
4 Experts say automation will eliminate 73 million more jobs by 2030.
5..However, automation is creating jobs as well as eliminating them, especially in the field of AI:
Pundits predict that jobs in AI will number 23 million by 2020.
6.Jobs will be created in development, programming, testing, support, and maintenance, to name
a few. Artificial Intelligence architect is one such job.

AI MILESTONES OF LAST 10 YEARS OF AI
2.MACHINE LEARNING/DEEP LEARNING
1. Machine Learning a subset of AI. It enables computers are programmed to learn to
do something they are not programmed to do, by discovering patterns and insights
from data. In general, we have two types of learning, supervised and unsupervised.
2. The Neural networks (NN), natural language processing (NLP), and deep learning
(DL) are subset of ML Each of these subsets offers an opportunity for specializing in
a career field that will only grow.
3. Machine Learning is rapidly being deployed in all kinds of industries, creating a huge
demand for skilled professionals. The Machine Learning market is expected to grow
to $8.81 billion by 2022.
4. Machine Learning applications are used for data analytics, data mining, and pattern
recognition.
5. On the consumer end, Machine Learning powers web search results, real-time ads,
and network intrusion detection, to name only a few of the many tasks it can do.
6. In addition to completing countless tasks on our behalf, it is generating jobs.
Machine Learning jobs rank among the top emerging jobs on LinkedIn, with almost
2,000 job listings posted. And these jobs pay well: In 2017, the median salary for a
machine learning engineer was $106,225.
7. Machine Learning jobs include engineers, developers, researchers, and data
scientists
INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION : Why Automate ??
3.ROBOTIC PROCESS AUTOMATION OR RPA
1. Robotic Process Automation, or RPA, is another technology that is automating
jobs. RPA is the use of software to automate business processes such as
interpreting applications, processing transactions, dealing with data, and even
replying to emails.
2. RPA automates repetitive tasks that people used to do. These are not just the
menial tasks of a low-paid worker: up to 45 percent of the activities we do can be
automated, including the work of financial managers, doctors, and CEOs.
3. Although Forrester Research estimates RPA automation will threaten the
livelihood of 230 million or more knowledge workers or approximately 9 percent of
the global workforce, RPA is also creating new jobs while altering existing jobs.
McKinsey finds that less than 5 percent of occupations can be totally automated,
but about 60 percent can be partially automated.
4. RPA offers plenty of career opportunities, including developer, project manager,
business analyst, solution architect, and consultant. And these jobs pay well.
SimplyHired.com says the average RPA salary is $73,861, but that is the average
compiled from salaries for junior-level developers up to senior solution architects,
with the top 10 percent earning over $141,000 annually.
1. Virtual Reality (VR) immerses the user in an environment while Augment Reality
(AR) enhances their environment.
2. Although VR has primarily been used for gaming thus far, it has also been used
for training, as with VirtualShip, a simulation software used to train U.S. Navy,
Army, and Coast Guard ship captains. The popular Pokemon Go is an example of
AR.
3. Both VR and AR have enormous potential in training, entertainment, education,
marketing, and even rehabilitation after an injury. Either could be used to train
doctors to do surgery, offer museum-goers a deeper experience, enhance theme
parks, or even enhance marketing, as with this Pepsi Max bus shelter.
4. There are major players in the VR market, like Google, Samsung, and Oculus,
but plenty of startups are forming and they will be hiring, and the demand for
professionals with VR and AR skills will only increase.
5. Getting started in VR doesn’t require a lot of specialized knowledge. Basic
programming skills and a forward-thinking mindset can land a job, although other
employers will be looking for optics as a skill-set and hardware engineers as well.
4.VIRTUAL REALITY AND AUGMENTED REALITY
5.CYBERSECURITY
1. Cybersecurity might not seem like emerging technology, given that it has been around for a while, but it
is evolving just as other technologies are. That’s in part because threats are constantly new.
2. The malevolent hackers who are trying to illegally access data are not going to give up any time soon,
and they will continue to find ways to get through even the toughest security measures.
3. It’s also in part because new technology is being adapted to enhance security. As long as we have
hackers, we will have cyber security as an emerging technology because it will constantly evolve to
defend against those hackers.
4. As proof of the strong need for cybersecurity professionals, the number of cybersecurity jobs is growing
three times faster than other tech jobs.
5. However, we’re falling short when it comes to filling those jobs. As a result, it’s predicted that we will
have 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs by 2021.
6. Many cybersecurity jobs pay six-figure incomes, and roles can range from the ethical hacker to security
engineer to Chief Security Officer, offering a promising career path for someone who wants to get into
and stick with this domain.

6.BLOCK CHAIN
1. Although most people think of blockchain technology in relation to cryptocurrencies such
as Bitcoin, blockchain offers security that is useful in many other ways.
2. In the simplest of terms, blockchain can be described as data you can only add to, not take
away from or change. Hence the term “chain” because you’re making a chain of data. Not
being able to change the previous blocks is what makes it so secure.
3. In addition, blockchains are consensus-driven, so no one entity can take control of the
data.
4. With blockchain, you don’t need a trusted third-party to oversee or validate transactions.
You can refer to our Blockchain tutorial for a detailed and thorough understanding of the
technology.
5. Several industries are involving and implementing blockchain, and as the use of
blockchain technology increases, so too does the demand for skilled professionals.
6. In that regard, we are already behind. According to Techcrunch.com, blockchain-related
jobs are the second-fastest growing category of jobs, with 14 job openings for every one
blockchain developer.
7. A blockchain developer specializes in developing and implementing architecture and
solutions using blockchain technology. The average yearly salary of a blockchain
developer is $130,000. If you are intrigued by Blockchain and its applications and want to
make your career in this fast-growing industry,
7.INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT)
1. Many “things” are now being built with WiFi connectivity, meaning they can be connected to the
Internet—and to each other. Hence, the Internet of Things, or IoT.
2. The Internet of Things is the future and has already enabled devices, home appliances, cars, and
much more to be connected to and exchange data over the Internet.
3. And we’re only in the beginning stages of IoT: the number of IoT devices reached 8.4 billion in 2017 is
expected to reach 30 billion devices by 2020.
4. As consumers, we’re already using and benefitting from IoT. We can lock our doors remotely if we
forget to when we leave for work and preheat our ovens on our way home from work, all while
tracking our fitness on our Fitbits and hailing a ride with Lyft.
5. But businesses also have much to gain now and in the near future. The IoT can enable better safety,
efficiency, and decision making for businesses as data is collected and analyzed.
It can enable predictive maintenance, speed up medical care, improve customer service, and offer
benefits we haven’t even imagined yet.
6. However, despite this boon in the development and adoption of IoT, experts say not enough IT
professionals are getting trained for IoT jobs. An article at ITProToday says we’ll need 200,000 more
IT workers that aren’t yet in the pipeline, and that a survey of engineers found 25.7 percent believe
inadequate skill levels to be the industry’s biggest obstacle to growth.
7. For someone interested in a career in IoT, that means easy entry into the field if you’re
motivated, with a range of options for getting started. Skills needed include IoT security, cloud
computing knowledge, data analytics, automation, understanding of embedded systems, device
knowledge, to name only a few. After all, it’s the Internet of Things, and those things are many and
varied, meaning the skills needed are as well.
8.CLOUD COMPUTING AND EDGE COMPUTING AND
1. Formerly a technology trend to watch, cloud computing has become mainstream, with
major players AWS (Amazon Web Services), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud
dominating the market. The adoption of cloud computing is still growing, as more and more
businesses migrate to a cloud solution. But it’s no longer the emerging technology.
2. As the quantity of data we’re dealing with continues to increase, we’ve realized the
shortcomings of cloud computing in some situations.
3. Edge computing is designed to help solve some of those problems as a way to bypass the
latency caused by cloud computing and getting data to a data center for processing.
4. It can exist “on the edge,” if you will, closer to where computing needs to happen. For this
reason, edge computing can be used to process time-sensitive data in remote locations with
limited or no connectivity to a centralized location. In those situations, edge computing can
act like mini datacenters.
5. Edge computing will increase as the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices increases. By
2022, the global edge computing market is expected to reach $6.72 billion. As with any
growing market, this will create various jobs, primarily for software engineers.
6. If you wish to get a thorough understanding of edges means, and how is it different from
cloud computing, give it a read here!

  • 4. NATIONAL CORONA METER AS ON 11TH JUNE 2020
  • 5. CAUSE & SYMPTOMS 1. Covid-19 is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 that can trigger a upper respiratory tract infection (sinuses, nose & throat) or lower respiratory tract (windpipe & lungs). 2. It spreads the same way other coronaviruses do, mainly through person-to-person contact. Infections range from mild to deadly. 3. SARS-CoV-2 is one of seven types of coronavirus, including the ones that cause severe diseases like Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and sudden acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). The other coronaviruses cause most of the colds that affect us during the year but aren’t a serious threat for otherwise healthy people 4. Two strains named L and S are found.. The S type is older, but the L type was more common in early stages of the outbreak The main symptoms include: Fever Coughing Shortness of breath Trouble breathing Fatigue Chills, sometimes with shaking Body aches Headache Sore throat Loss of smell or taste Nausea Diarrhea The virus can lead to pneumonia, respiratory failure, septic shock and death. Many COVID-19 complications may be caused by a condition known as cytokine release syndrome or a cytokine storm. This is when an infection triggers your immune system to flood your bloodstream with inflammatory proteins called cytokines. They can kill tissue and damage your organs.
  • 6. COMPARISON WITH COMMON COLD/FLU/ALLERGIES If you’re infected, symptoms can show up in as few as 2 days or as many as 14. It varies from person to person. According to researchers in China, these were the most common symptoms among people who had COVID-19: Fever 99% Fatigue 70% Cough 59% Lack of appetite 40% Body aches 35% Shortness of breath 31% Mucus/phlegm 27% Some people who are hospitalized for COVID- 19 have also have dangerous blood clots, including in their legs, lungs, and arteries. Cold vs. Flu vs. Allergies vs. COVID-19 Symptoms Cold Flu Allergies COVID-19 (can range from moderate to severe) Fever Rare High (100-102 F), Can last 3-4 days Never Common Headache Rare Intense Uncommo n Can be present General aches, pains Slight Usual, often severe Never Can be present Fatigue, weakness Mild Intense, can last up to 2-3 weeks Sometime s Can be present Extreme exhaustion Never Usual (starts early) Never Can be present Stuffy/runny nose Common Sometimes Common reported Sneezing Usual Sometimes Usual reported Sore throat Common Common Sometime s reported Cough Mild to Common, can SometimeCommon
  • 7. CORONAVIRUS TRANSMISSION How does the coronavirus spread? SARS-CoV-2, the virus, mainly spreads from person to person. Most of the time, it spreads when a sick person coughs or sneezes. They can spray droplets as far as 6 feet away. If you breathe them in or swallow them, the virus can get into your body. Some people who have the virus don't have symptoms, but they can still spread the virus. You can also get the virus from touching a surface or object the virus is on, then touching your mouth, nose, or possibly your eyes. Most viruses can live for several hours on a surface that they land on. A study shows that SARS-CoV-2 can last for several hours on various types of surfaces: Copper: 4 hours Cardboard: up to 24 hours Plastic or stainless steel: 2 to 3 days That’s why it’s important to disinfect surfaces to get rid of the virus. Some dogs and cats have tested positive for the virus. A few have shown signs of illness. But there’s no evidence that humans can catch this coronavirus from an animal. How contagious is the coronavirus? The transmission rate is relatively high. Early research has estimated that one person who has it can spread it to between 2 and 2.5 others. One study found that the rate was higher, with one case spreading to between 4.7 and 6.6 other people. By comparison, one person who has the seasonal flu will pass it to between 1.1 and 2.3 others. We can work to lower the transmission rate by washing hands often, keeping common surfaces clean, limiting contact with other people, and wearing cloth face masks when we can’t stay 6 feet away from others. Can coronavirus be transmitted through groceries, packages, or food? You’re much more likely to get COVID-19 from another person than from packages, groceries, or food. If you’re in a high-risk group, stay home and use a delivery service or have a friend shop for you. Have them leave the items outside your front door, if you can. If you do your own shopping, try to stay at least 6 feet away from other shoppers. That isn’t always possible, so wear a cloth face mask, too. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds before and after bringing things into your home. The coronavirus can linger on hard surfaces, so clean and disinfect countertops and anything else your bags have touched. You can wipe down plastic, metal, or glass packaging with soap and water if you want. There’s no evidence that anyone has gotten COVID-19 from food or food containers.
  • 8. CORONAVIRUS VACCINE / TREATMENTNo vaccine yet, but scientists shared the virus’s genetic makeup in January 2020. Vaccine testing in humans started with record speed in March 2020. More than 100 vaccine projects are in various phases of development. There’s no specific treatment for COVID-19. People who get a mild case need care to ease their symptoms, like rest, fluids, and fever control. Take over-the-counter medicine for a sore throat, body aches, and fever. But don't give aspirin to children or teens younger than 19. You might have heard that you shouldn't take ibuprofen to treat COVID-19 symptoms. But the National Institutes of Health says people who have the virus can use nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or acetaminophen as usual. Antibiotics won’t help because they treat bacteria, not viruses. If you hear about people with COVID-19 getting antibiotics, it’s for an infection that came along with the disease. Several studies are focused on an antiviral medication called remdesivir, which was created to fight Ebola. An emergency FDA ruling lets doctors use it for people hospitalized with COVID-19 and in clinical trials. Researchers in the U.S. say remdesivir helped patients in one study recover from the disease 31% faster. The FDA also issued an emergency use ruling for hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine. These medications are approved to treat malaria and autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Clinical trials are also under way for tocilizumab, used to treat autoimmune conditions. Hospital use of blood plasma from people who’ve had COVID-19. You’ll hear this called convalescent plasma. Baba Ramdev ji has developed some Ayurvedic medicine by 100hurbs, which is under clinical trial
  • 9. CORONAVIRUS PREVENTION Wash your hands: often with soap and water or clean them with an alcohol-based sanitizer. This kills viruses on your hands. Practice social distancing. Because you can have and spread the virus without knowing it, you should stay home as much as possible. If you do have to go out, stay at least 6 feet away from others. Cover your nose and mouth in public. If you have COVID-19, you can spread it even if you don’t feel sick. Wear a cloth face covering to protect others. This isn’t a replacement for social distancing. You still need to keep a 6-foot distance between yourself and those around you. Don’t use a face mask meant for health care workers. Don’t touch your face. Coronaviruses can live on surfaces you touch for several hours. If they get on your hands and you touch your eyes, nose, or mouth, they can get into your body. Clean and disinfect. You can clean first with soap and water, but disinfect surfaces you touch often, like tables, doorknobs, light switches, toilets, faucets, and sinks. Use a mix of household bleach and water (1/3 cup bleach per gallon of water, or 4 teaspoons bleach per quart of water) Wear gloves when you clean and throw them away when you’re done. COVID-19 preparation tips Make an emergency contact list. Include family, friends, neighbors, carpool drivers, doctors, teachers, employers, and the local health department. work from home if your office is closed. Surgical masks and N95 masks should be reserved for health care workers and first responders. Crowded places can raise your chances of getting COVID-19. The CDC recommends against international or cruise ship travel during the pandemic Some officials are easing restrictions & allowing biz to reopen. This doesn’t mean the virus is gone. Social distancing or physical distancing, keeping space between yourself and other people when you have to go out Quarantine keeping someone home and separated from other people if they might have been exposed to the virus Isolation keeping sick people away from healthy people, including using a separate “sick” bedroom and bathroom when possible

  • 38. INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION : Why Automate ??
  • 39. 3.ROBOTIC PROCESS AUTOMATION OR RPA 1. Robotic Process Automation, or RPA, is another technology that is automating jobs. RPA is the use of software to automate business processes such as interpreting applications, processing transactions, dealing with data, and even replying to emails. 2. RPA automates repetitive tasks that people used to do. These are not just the menial tasks of a low-paid worker: up to 45 percent of the activities we do can be automated, including the work of financial managers, doctors, and CEOs. 3. Although Forrester Research estimates RPA automation will threaten the livelihood of 230 million or more knowledge workers or approximately 9 percent of the global workforce, RPA is also creating new jobs while altering existing jobs. McKinsey finds that less than 5 percent of occupations can be totally automated, but about 60 percent can be partially automated. 4. RPA offers plenty of career opportunities, including developer, project manager, business analyst, solution architect, and consultant. And these jobs pay well. SimplyHired.com says the average RPA salary is $73,861, but that is the average compiled from salaries for junior-level developers up to senior solution architects, with the top 10 percent earning over $141,000 annually.

Although VR has primarily been used for gaming thus far, it has also been used for training, as with VirtualShip, a simulation software used to train U.S. Navy, Army, and Coast Guard ship captains. The popular Pokemon Go is an example of AR. 3. Both VR and AR have enormous potential in training, entertainment, education, marketing, and even rehabilitation after an injury. Either could be used to train doctors to do surgery, offer museum-goers a deeper experience, enhance theme parks, or even enhance marketing, as with this Pepsi Max bus shelter. 4. There are major players in the VR market, like Google, Samsung, and Oculus, but plenty of startups are forming and they will be hiring, and the demand for professionals with VR and AR skills will only increase. 5. Getting started in VR doesn’t require a lot of specialized knowledge. Basic programming skills and a forward-thinking mindset can land a job, although other employers will be looking for optics as a skill-set and hardware engineers as well. 4.VIRTUAL REALITY AND AUGMENTED REALITY
  • 41. 5.CYBERSECURITY 1. Cybersecurity might not seem like emerging technology, given that it has been around for a while, but it is evolving just as other technologies are. That’s in part because threats are constantly new. 2. The malevolent hackers who are trying to illegally access data are not going to give up any time soon, and they will continue to find ways to get through even the toughest security measures. 3. It’s also in part because new technology is being adapted to enhance security. As long as we have hackers, we will have cyber security as an emerging technology because it will constantly evolve to defend against those hackers. 4. As proof of the strong need for cybersecurity professionals, the number of cybersecurity jobs is growing three times faster than other tech jobs. 5. However, we’re falling short when it comes to filling those jobs. As a result, it’s predicted that we will have 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs by 2021. 6. Many cybersecurity jobs pay six-figure incomes, and roles can range from the ethical hacker to security engineer to Chief Security Officer, offering a promising career path for someone who wants to get into and stick with this domain. 7. • 42. 6.BLOCK CHAIN 1. Although most people think of blockchain technology in relation to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, blockchain offers security that is useful in many other ways. 2. In the simplest of terms, blockchain can be described as data you can only add to, not take away from or change. Hence the term “chain” because you’re making a chain of data. Not being able to change the previous blocks is what makes it so secure. 3. In addition, blockchains are consensus-driven, so no one entity can take control of the data. 4. With blockchain, you don’t need a trusted third-party to oversee or validate transactions. You can refer to our Blockchain tutorial for a detailed and thorough understanding of the technology. 5. Several industries are involving and implementing blockchain, and as the use of blockchain technology increases, so too does the demand for skilled professionals. 6. In that regard, we are already behind. According to Techcrunch.com, blockchain-related jobs are the second-fastest growing category of jobs, with 14 job openings for every one blockchain developer. 7. • 43. 7.INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT) 1. Many “things” are now being built with WiFi connectivity, meaning they can be connected to the Internet—and to each other. Hence, the Internet of Things, or IoT. 2. The Internet of Things is the future and has already enabled devices, home appliances, cars, and much more to be connected to and exchange data over the Internet. 3. And we’re only in the beginning stages of IoT: the number of IoT devices reached 8.4 billion in 2017 is expected to reach 30 billion devices by 2020. 4. As consumers, we’re already using and benefitting from IoT. We can lock our doors remotely if we forget to when we leave for work and preheat our ovens on our way home from work, all while tracking our fitness on our Fitbits and hailing a ride with Lyft. 5. But businesses also have much to gain now and in the near future. The IoT can enable better safety, efficiency, and decision making for businesses as data is collected and analyzed. It can enable predictive maintenance, speed up medical care, improve customer service, and offer benefits we haven’t even imagined yet. 6. However, despite this boon in the development and adoption of IoT, experts say not enough IT professionals are getting trained for IoT jobs. An article at ITProToday says we’ll need 200,000 more IT workers that aren’t yet in the pipeline, and that a survey of engineers found 25.7 percent believe inadequate skill levels to be the industry’s biggest obstacle to growth. 7. For someone interested in a career in IoT, that means easy entry into the field if you’re motivated, with a range of options for getting started. Skills needed include IoT security, cloud computing knowledge, data analytics, automation, understanding of embedded systems, device knowledge, to name only a few. After all, it’s the Internet of Things, and those things are many and varied, meaning the skills needed are as well.
  • 44. 8.CLOUD COMPUTING AND EDGE COMPUTING AND 1. Formerly a technology trend to watch, cloud computing has become mainstream, with major players AWS (Amazon Web Services), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud dominating the market. The adoption of cloud computing is still growing, as more and more businesses migrate to a cloud solution. But it’s no longer the emerging technology. 2. As the quantity of data we’re dealing with continues to increase, we’ve realized the shortcomings of cloud computing in some situations. 3. Edge computing is designed to help solve some of those problems as a way to bypass the latency caused by cloud computing and getting data to a data center for processing. 4. It can exist “on the edge,” if you will, closer to where computing needs to happen. For this reason, edge computing can be used to process time-sensitive data in remote locations with limited or no connectivity to a centralized location. In those situations, edge computing can act like mini datacenters. 5. Edge computing will increase as the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices increases. By 2022, the global edge computing market is expected to reach $6.72 billion. As with any growing market, this will create various jobs, primarily for software engineers. 6. If you wish to get a thorough understanding of edges means, and how is it different from cloud computing, give it a read here!
