What does the Company sell? What does the product do? How does it work? What is the Value Proposition?
• The market
Who currently uses the product? What are their characteristics? Who is the Target market? What are their
personas? Who are the competitors?
• The current Product/Market Fit
Are we in a good market with a product that can satisfy the market? What are the gaps between the market &
Product?
• The company culture
understand how things work, What do people like about the process? what do people hate about?
• The PM role
Understand the Product autonomy, Executive buy-in and decision making, roles.
7. Day 30 – Day 60 : Develop & Position
• Product discovery
Run discovery workshop to start identifying user, business and technical needs, to create a
problem/assessment frame diagram
• Develop personas and user journeys
start brainstorming ideas for product development
• Road map
Work with the team to prioritize ideas and start building a roadmap for development, effort-value-impact
frame work is a good tool
• KPIs & success metrics
Identify success measures - how we'll know if what we're doing is having the desired impact.
• Start processes for Product development lifecycles
This means knowing what kind of requirements and specifications developers need to start working, how
research and design fits into the process, how QA should work, when marketing becomes involved
8. Day 60 – Day 90 : Product Leadership
• Start executing the Product plan
Run discovery workshop to start identifying user, business and technical needs, to create a
problem/assessment frame diagram
• Measure, and show the success of the process
Use this to build trust and continue to ship great improvements and products
• Adjust priorities
Assess the situation, and use customer, sales and business feedback to constantly adjust priorities
• Executive updates
Proactively provide the executives the information about the status of product, launches any set backs and
future road maps.
