Ponència feta en el marc de l'International Summit for Community Wireless Networks, cimera que reuneix els principals experts en tecnologia, analistes polítics i investigadors universitaris que treballen en projectes de xarxes sense fil comunitàries. L'edició de 2012, que té lloc a Barcelona del 4 al 7 d'octubre, s'ha centrat en les solucions tècniques, les recomanacions polítiques i les estratègies de la comunitat. Amb la finalitat de compartir les nostres experiències per a potenciar la Societat de la Informació i les tecnologies de la comunicació, dos membres de l'equip puntCAT han participat a una sessió d'aquesta trobada. Han estat acompanyats pels amics de Guifi.net, guanyadors d'un Ajut puntCAT amb el que es va desenvolupar el GuifiProxy, un complement per al Firefox, Firefox Mobile i Thunderbird, el qual permet utilitzar servidors intermediaris amb facilitat dins la xarxa de Guifi.net i similars.
