◦ On 16th November 1949, when the Constituent Assembly was nearing its end, it made room for the inclusion
of a specific clause in Part IV of the Constitution of India. The assembly was heavily divided on their
opinions pertaining to this topic. When seen from the point of view of the newly formed republic, the
clause’s significance during the national movement and shades of majoritarian sentiment it carried within it, it was
