Are your finished pieces fit for their intended purpose?
The purpose I wanted these posters to get across is to bring local change to the community by presenting
lots of information about the illness on my infographics posters to allow people to learn more about it and
to help change the way people think about the illness and let them known it more serious so hopefully
they think about it more and get involved. On the other posters I wanted to change attitudes of the
audience by questioning them about the problem such as LGBTQ+ by asking them “why are we still talking
about this?” to encourage them to ask them self's why are they still bothered about this or why other
people are to get them to think about the cause and maybe think about how they could change. My
finished poster are fit for their purpose as everything I attended turned out correct, I fitted all the
information on the infographics for people to read and kept the other poster minimalistic so they just focus
on the question. A company that focus on the LGBT community called LGBT foundation made a similar
poster to raise awareness but for a different audience, they have focused on the LGBTQ community
providing them information where they can get in touch if they need help. They have showed this by
putting their number on the poster and address so people can get in touch. This is different to mine as I am
focusing on the people that aren't Gay and lesbian to change their attitudes and to create strength in the
community and have done this though my work and their work is fit for their purpose just for their
audience.
My finished bus advert main purpose is to raise awareness about mental health and I have done this by
putting a phone number on their and my website to allow people to ring up and get help. I also included a
slogan “you are not alone stop, breathe, call ….” to calm the person down reading it if they are in a difficult
situation to make them more likley to ring up and get help as this is this purpose.
My last piece of work is my merch and the intended purpose for them is to make revenue by selling the
erch that doesnt havw to much to to with provinding information or rasing awareness as this allows me to
put the money back into the orgaziation such as the advertisng to raise awaress. Another aim with this
merch is to promote their organzation by putting the logo on the clothing and accesories so people that
see the merch can see where its from and can go to the webstie to gain more information, the purpose is
to encourge more people to wear the merch as an everyday iteam of clothing as the hoodie and t-shirts
and quite simple and can be used everyday rather than just promting mental health and by doing this it will
help gain sales as more people would rather buy them if they can get more out of them.
Do they communicate your message clearly?
I believe my logo communicates my message clearly because of the text and images I have used. The logo name is ”open
minded” I decided to call it this to make it clear about what this organization is about, the minds. The cause is about
mental health and how to deal with it so by calling it open minded it is showing the audience that this has something to
do with opening the mind and this usually relates to mental health. Also to support this I have create a flower that I
have placed of the I, I created this to show that the flower is opening up to relate to the text in the logo to make it more
clear to what this organization is about. My questionnaire mainly supports this with 83% saying yes that the logo is clear
about mental health, this shows me that most people will understand what this is trying to promote but the other 17%
that didn’t know what it was will still be able to know what this originations is as this logo will be placed on posters with
more information about mental health.
My two posters promoting the LGBTQ+ community my message is communicated very well with 100% of the audience
answering yes to be able to understand the problem that I am trying to get across in the poster. This shows that all the
people that viewed the poster have a clear understanding about the message. With this poster I asked the audience a
question about why we are still talking about this but with no context to what the subject is that we are talking about.
I made this un clear on purpose to get the audience to think about the problem and what it could be, I add colours
and extra text to help the audience get a better understanding such as the multi-colored “still” and background as this
is the LGBTQ+ community flag so this represent them and itis very famous so lots of people know what it is therefore
allowing them to understand the purpose of the poster. This is backed up in the comments of the questionnaire with
two people saying that the colours and extra text below that states facts about the LGBTQ+ helped them figure out
the problem. This shows that the extra art of the poster are really important for getting the message across clearly.
For my bus banner I believe the message I am trying to get across could not be as clear as it could be. For example in
the feedback I received 50% of people said that they would change something about my logo and out of this 50% two
people left comments underneath, these were really helpful as one person pointed out that breath was spelt wrong
and that it should be spelt breathe. I did not notice this till I read back on the feedback and this has helped me a lot as
I can now improve this work to make it more clear and this does not make sense right now. This shows that these
questionnaire are really helpful as you can get the audience feedback and make improvements to suit their needs.
Their are aspects' to the bus banner that clearly get the message across such as the phone number and website to
allow the audience to see the organization we are so they can known what the cause is and I also used a picture of a
mind to show the audience what it is about, mental health.
Are they appropriate for your target audience?
My target audience age range is between 11-18 children and teens from school to college. My target audience is quite young as my campaign
targets at people with mental health in schools therefore my products have to be child friendly and appropriate for them. My audience are
quite young and therefore I have to be sensitive in what I say on my products such as my posters and merch to make sure I do not offend them
or scare them away. Mental health is not a massive thing that kids talk about and therefore when promoting my organization I need to make it
simple and factual so it is easy for them to understand and read. My first poster is an infographic and this is appropriate for my target audience
as it has not harsh images in or offensive content, its full of pretty calm pastel colours that are associated with young kids therefore they are
more likely to notice it and like it then it being boring using black and whites. The layout of the poster is very simple making it easier fore the
kids and student to read it and get the information they need. I have used pictures of the things I am talking about to make it easier to locate
the different types of information and to make it more interesting and young people do enjoy picture more than pages of plain text. Because my
audience is very young this will be more difficult for them to come out and speak about their problems as they might feel embarrassed of
scared therefore I went with pastel colours as I didn't’t want the colours being to harsh to look at I wanted to create a poster that was calm so
the person reading could relaxed, this is why I chose to go for a pastel blue as the background as blue conveys with peace and this will help the
audience feel peaceful when reading it. I create a tree as trees represent growth and strength. For the young side of my audience 11-14 I
believe this poster might be to difficult for them and not interesting as there is a lot of text and therefore they might get bored reading it or
might not be able to read that well. This poster is defiantly more for my older target audience and agree that I could of maybe created a similar
poster but with less text for the younger audience but I did create a simple poster that is defiantly appropriate for my whole audience but for a
different cause, LGBTQ+.
For this poster I went with a more simplistic design to make sure this is suitable for my whole audience as there is not much
writing making it easy for any age to understand. I also started of the poster with a question to intrigued the audience as
young people can get bored and therefore the poster needs something on there to stand out to help grab their attention
and using the a question as they walk past it will leave them thinking about it and possibly make them go back to the poster
to get more information as they are interested. I created two different poster using two different colour schemes, I chose to
do this to target both sides of my target audience. For the first poster I went simple using one bold colour for the
background, blue with white text over the top as they complement each other nicely and the poster looks very neat and
smart this defiantly is more appropriate for the older audience 15-18 as they start to come away from the bright colours and
if they saw the other poster they might think it for children as it full of bright colour and is not very serious. The second
poster is very colour with the background multi-colored to grab the children attention as they are more likely to be into
bright colour therefore will find this more interesting and cooler to read.
Are they appropriate for your target audience?
A campaign for mental health and drug abuse target audience is more for the older generation, ages
between 17-21 and their poster shows that their target audience is no younger as it very bold and eye
opening by showing her mouth being torn away this is not appropriate for young ages as this could scare
them away or make them more nervous about how there feeling as they might feel like they can’t talk or
they will end up doing drugs compared to my poster that is more suitable for them as it calming and does
not scare them as it use cartoon pictures and making it more pleasant to look at but this is appropriate for
their target audience as people aged 17-21 are more likely to drugs therefore understand this poster more
than a younger generation and relate more.
My merchandise is varied for my audience as the different products are appropriate for the different ages. For
example the hoodies are defiantly aimed more at the teens as they have very simple design and their purpose it to
warm as an every day item more than to promote the brand. These are more appropriate for their age as teens are
more likely care more about their style then children therefore will take more interest in the clothing and how it
looks and giving it a simple design that doesn’t immediately link to mental health will encourage them to buy it
more. Overall the clothing is appropriate for my target audience as there are not harmful pictures on their and
offensive material meaning anyone can wear it and it will not offend anyone. The bucket hat is more aimed for the
older side of my target audience and it more appropriate for them as bucket hat are quite popular in fashion right
now making it more likely for the teens to buy it. Other items from my merchandise are appropriate for the young
side for 11-14 years old as I sell stickers and badges these are more aimed at them because kids are more into
stickers as they use them more than teens as they are classed a childish thing to them therefore they are not
appropriate for them because they will not buy them. The badges are appropriate for my whole target audience as
badges are used widely across the age range with it being popular to put them on your bag. The design is very
simple with just a question mark making it child friendly for the kids to wear on their bags and not to childish for the
teens to wear also.
Compare and contrast your original intentions with the outcomes you arrived at.
When I started my idea generation for my logo I wanted my logo to use pastel colours such as blues, pinks and
yellows. I wanted to use these colours because I believe they are calm therefore the person reading could relaxed,
this is why I wanted a blue as the main colour as blue conveys with peace and this will help the audience feel
peaceful when seeing it. At first I designed my logo using yellows and pink but thought it looked to aim at women as
these colour are classed as quite girly, so then I chose to re-designed it using pastel blue and use the yellows and
pink as a flower instead, this looked so much better as blue represents peace and also is a colour that boy and girl
usually both like but I still had the bright colours to help it stand out. For the font of the logo in my planning I chose
5 different fonts to chose from for my final design, I picked out these 5 as I thought these were the suitable for my
audience and they looked very elegant, I didn't want them to be to bold and harsh to scare away any audience, I
wanted it to be nice to look at. In the end result I chose to go “peace of mind”. My final design for my logo defiantly
kept to my planning as I used everything I wanted to and planned, the planning really helped me stick to a schedule
and helped me saved time as I had already picked my font and colours. Overall I am really happy with my end result
of my logo and would not change anything.
For my posters I planned them by creating a mind map, I did this as It helped me broaden my ideas as I could branch
off them into more detail and it creates it in an well structured format making it easy to see my ideas when I want to
come back to them. In my ideas I wanted to create a infographic to show lots of information about mental health.
The three types of poster I wanted to create was about bullying, depression and the LGBTQ+ community, out of
these 3 I only used two in the final outcome. This happen because I tried to create a poster on bullying and it didn’t
turn out as planned because it didn’t look kid friendly enough and I could not fit as much information as I had hoped
therefore the third poster I create was the same as the second one about the LGBTQ+ community but created it in
two different colours. The LGBTQ+ poster did stick to the plan though, on the quote page were I had listed different
Facts and slogan to put on my poster I sued two fro my final poster and the page came in handy as I didn’t have to
waste more time looking for facts as I could just go back to this page and pick the ones that fit with my poster.
How effective are the techniques you have used?
For the font I wanted it to be elegant with flicks at the end and fine text instead of massive bold text. I chose this type as
it was more relaxing and nice to look at, as big bold text can sometime be too much and overpower the logo and because
my campaign is about mental health and targeted at a young age such as 11-18 year olds this is effective as it will be
more easier for the young people to read and also more relaxing for them to read which is the point because if they are
suffering from something the whole point of this campaign to make them calm down and get help. I also decided to
make the text white and put a stroke over it in the colour pastel blue, I chose to do this to helps it stand out more and
made the text a bit bigger. I have chosen a pastel blue for the logo because blue conveys peace, trust and confidence and
that is what I want my audience to feel when they see my logo or come to my website. Open minded is an organization
that helps people going through hard times so by using peaceful colour hopefully makes it a calm place for them to visit
or look at. I have chosen the title “Open minded” as this is the message I want to get across to kids in school to be more
open minded about situations, willing to consider new options such as getting help when their feeling low. I create flower
petals and colored them all in different shades of pink red yellow and green. I wanted them to be different colours
because I wanted it to stand out against the title as that’s a light blue and to stand out. This is effective as its shows that
we are all different, open minded it a place for people to get help in any situation in school not just exam pressure and
mental health the LGBT are welcome for any advice as the flowers are showing the LGBTQ flag colours to show the
audience that we welcome anyone.
On the bottom of my poster I added a section called where to get help, I did this is as it’s a good way to section off
different parts of the poster this is a great way for the audience to find the right information really easily if they want to
get straight to the point. Next to the text boxes I added a picture to make it easier for the audience to recognize where to
get help. I used the Polygonal lasso tool cut out the doctor equipment and recreate my own cartoon version of this, and
also did this for the rest of my images. Its also effective because its targeted at younger children and because there in
quite a lot of writing putting in picture will make it easier for them to understand and also make it more interesting for
them.

I decided to create an outline of a head and brain. Inside the brain I placed the word open to link to my
logo “open minded” I wanted the message to be clear to people when they read the poster that you need
to be open minded and talk about it. I stuck with the head outline and added speech boxes in a semi circle
around its head to make it look like it was talking this is effective as it shows the audience that its okay to
talk about it and that you can talk about it, reassuring them. I then placed facts in the boxes to let people
know the serious issue of mental health in teens and kids; to raise awareness of the subject. In the boxes I
placed numbers from 1 to 6 to make it easier for the audience to follow the different facts in a simple way
and to separate them instead of having one big text box of writing as this can bore the audience. I also
made the boxes different colours to help stand out to the audience so they notice the facts as they are the
most important part of the poster to get across as I am spreading awareness.
I wanted the poster to flow so people can go from one section to the other so I used curved edges boxes
and create 4 boxes filled with signs that show the audience if they could have mental health, I believe its
important to put this on the poster as it beneficial for the audience as it allows them to understand the
symptoms that they might not know they have. I then used circles to link the numbers to the box for the
same reason as the facts above to make it simple for he audience to read it. For the colours I used the
same colour I used for the facts around the head so it all fitted together. Using bright colours is a good way
to put a positive spin on something that negative as it helps brighten people moods rather than using
blacks and white it helps keep the positive vibe through the posters, its always a great way to catch
audience attention as it bright and it likely to catch peoples eyes.
How effective are the techniques you have used?
For my second posted dedicated to the LGBTQ I chose from my lists of quotes and facts “Why are we still talking about this”. I
chose to do this slogan because I wanted to question the reader about the situation to get them thinking about it
themselves. This is a really useful way to change the attitudes of the audience as after thinking of it they might change their
mind and it also a good way to make the audience think of the situation even after looking at the poster therefore raising
awareness even after people have seen the poster. For the sub text I used facts from my facts pages to help the reader
understand the issue that still lies with the LGBTQ community; to help spread awareness of the issue. I chose to go with black
for the text t help it stand out against the multicolored background. For the facts there are some figure's that I wanted to
make clear to the audience so I chose a yellow for them two words as that’s a very bright colour against the white and also
put a stroke around them to help stand out even more to the audience to help them reader is easier.
For the slogan I wanted to emphasis the ”still” to show the audience why this is still happening and it should have been over
by now. For this I placed a gradient effect over the word and chose the colours of the LGBTQ flag so the audience would
recognize the message we are talking about straight away without writing about it. To make it stand out even more I placed
a black stroke over it to make the edges more defined and give the word more depth.
For the subtext at the bottom of the poster there are some facts to inform the audience how serious this it to
highlight this I made the “one” and “five “ in bright yellow to emphasis how many people are not talk about
same sex relationships and by highlighting it in yellow it helps draw attention to it and to also helps this I put a
stroke over it in black to help it stand out even more. Also at the bottom of the page I added the logo of the
campaign and organization this is to also the audience to know where to go if they want any extra help or
information but to also spread awareness of the brand and shows as many our logo as much so it hopefully
becomes popular so this story does.
How effective are the techniques you have used?
For my bus banner I believe this is one of the most effective pieces I created for the slogan
“you are not alone stop. breathe, call” This is a great way to connect with the audience and
to help them when they are reading this. For example if they are feeling low by them reading
your are not alone and then steps on what to do before calling will all them feel more calm
before getting help and it encourages them to get help also. At first I separated the “you are
not alone” with the “stop.brethe.call” with a grey line to create a pause when the audience is
reading it so they could breathe and think about what there going do as I want my to make
sure my audience are calm and in a right mind set when making decisions.
I have chosen this symbol as the colours look really good against the black as it stands out a
lot making it more visible for people walking past it to see; getting the company’s logo out
there to more people helps spread awareness about the cause and hopefully brings in a new
audience. On the front of the logo I have printed the logo quite small on the left hand side of
the hoodie, this is because on my branded clothes such as Nike, Fred Perry and Lyle & scot
they also have their logo on the left hand side and by making a piece of merchandise similar
to them will make it more fashionable for the person to wear and making them more likely
to buy it. I have also put the logo on the back on the hoodie but much bigger then the logo
on the front of the hoodie this is to make it more clear for people walking past to see it and
its also gives the hoodie more on a edgy look rather than it being boring and this is effective
as it will suit my audience likes and interests. I also created badges, hats and stickers to help
spread the awareness of the campaign. The stickers are effective as when people use them it
will help spread the message across and because I have used a question people will question
the sticker and ask what it is about therefore creating a conversation about the cause and it
allow the person to educate the person who asked on the cause.
How effective are the techniques you have used?
I created a website for my campaign as this Is where all my advertising and
merchandise are prompting. This website is a place for people to come and get help. At
the beginning of the website I added a helpful quote to help brighten the mood of the
person who is reading as they are likely feeling down. I added an “about” section to the
website to inform the audience about this website and organization and what we do
and how we help you, this is effective as it will help the audience know if they are eon
the right website or not and if this is for them. We also have a blog attached to the
website when people can see the progress we make and the events we do to give them
a more in depth idea on the work we do and how its helps people as this will encourage
them to talk to use more if they see the success of others. There are separate links on
the website to different parts such as the “mental health center” for people who want
to find more information about their mental health and how they can help for that. The
“health clinic’ for people who think they could be something wrong with them and also
a ”donation page” for people who don’t have mental heath but want to contribute to
the campaign. I have done this to make it easy for people to find exactly what they are
looking for instead of pages of writing about something they don’t need. On the
website I have also included the merchandise as this I where people would have to buy
it but for the preview I added the most popular item, new item and trending item to let
the audience know about the best and newest merch so they are up to date. Lastly at
the bottom of the website there is a contact page for more questions if they have not
found what they are looking for on the website. I have included this as it shows the
audience that we are there for them beyond this website and this is effective as it
reassures them that there is help for them.
How effective are the techniques you have used?
Looking through my research in question 4 ‘would you change anything about the posters?” 83% of people said no showing that the majority of the
audience liked the posters and agree that there's nothing they would add. 17% of people said that they would change it but did not leave a comment not
allowing me to see that they would change but from this I can tell that most people are happy with the posters. For question 6 I asked the audience what
they liked about the bus banner and we got responses such as “eye catching”, “works well with colours as it catches your eyes” and “effective as it shows
that your there to help” this tells use that the colour we used were really effective as it help cached peoples eye therefore the information got put across to
the audience and hopefully they were able to get help. Someone said it was “effective as it shows your there to help” this is really good as it tells use that
people feel happy as they know they have someone there to help and this is the whole purpose of the campaign therefore it has worked. To see if my
merchandise is effective due to its design and style I asked my audience if they would buy the merchandise based on the design and 100% said yes. This
shows that my intentions of the merch worked at that people actually want to buy therefore wear it so the message will get spread across to even more
people as people will see the logo and slogan on the merch. It also shows us that the design even though they were simple worked with the young
audience and that I was right to go plain and not mention much about the campaign as it was more likely for young people to buy the clothing if it look nice
and fitted in with the trends and is shown I the results. I also asked the audience what they like and do not like about the merchandise, and the feedback I
got given include mostly positive feedback with people saying they “loved the merch” for its colours and position of the logo, this show the positional the
logo in the same place other clothing brands do such as Fred Perry has paid off and been effective as people are pleased with the clothing. Another person
also said they liked “the different options and the colours and that it is understated but still supporting a great cause” this shows us that the audience are
happy with the design as it simple and they can wear it everyday but also pleased that they are contributing to a good cause and feel happy wearing it
because of that.
Is the content effective?
My merchandise is effective to the audience as it is different to other organizations. Lots of merchandise that
promote a cause focus on getting the message across very strongly on their clothing but with other merch we
have gone for a different approach and decided to create something much more simple that doesn’t scream
our company but rather an everyday piece of clothing. This is very effective as it isn't like other company's and
our audience are much more likely to buy it because of this and because of the simplicity of the clothing as the
can expect a good quality product that they can wear for a long time as it fashionable and can go with lots of
outfits. But there also impacts the audience will have buy wearing these clothes as it does help spread
awareness on mental health so they will be encouraging people to speak more about it and also helping
people around them by showing them wear to if they need help as the logo and name of the campaign in
printed on the hoodies allowing people walking past the to know where to get the hoodies from and also
information on mental health. The merchandise is also effective as it will generate money from the sales of the
clothing that can be put back into the camping to pay for the advertising to help get the message across
meaning if the clothing don’t spread as much awareness as we had hoped because of the simple design the
sales from the clothing fitting in more with the audience style can be used to promote the message in a
different way such as a poster.
To see if my content if effective to the public I asked a series of questions about my merch. I asked my
audience if they would buy the merchandise based on the design and 100% said yes. This shows that my
intentions of the merch as it shows us that the design even though they were simple worked with the young
audience and that I was right to go plain and not mention much about the campaign as it was more likely for
young people to buy the clothing if it look nice and fitted in with the trends and is shown In the results. This is
also backed up as people left comments as to why the liked the merchandise and the most popular responses
was the design and colours used showing us that they would buy the merch based on the design and also one
person said that even though it was simple ‘that It understated but still supporting a great cause” telling us the
design doesn’t need to be big and bold and that people can still support a good cause buy just buying the
merch proving my content I effective.
Is the content effective? An example of how my posters content is effective are the colours I have used. For 3
posters I have used bright colours such as pinks, blues, yellows and reds. I have done this
to make them stand out to the crowd to encourage them to read it as it will be more
clear from a distance. This makes my poster different to other campaign as lots of
organizations like to go for a more serious touch to show the real issue in mental health
but what makes my content more effective and causes people to see my poster more is
that they are full or happy colours and life. There are no dull colours or sad images on my
posters , they are there to make the person reading them feel more happy and more
comfytable. For example of a camping created a poster using bight red a colour that
conveys negatively and anger already making the person reading feel unsure something I
am trying to create with mine. They have also used a picture of a sad person, these types
of images are effective for their audience as this is aimed at an older audience someone
who can deal with this straight forward method but this wouldn't’t be effective to my
audience as my audience are young and sensitive and something like this might put them
off talking about it as therefore my poster are more effective towards them as they I use
colours that they enjoy and instead of scaring them with the reality of mental health. I
try encourage them to get help by showing them facts written in a friendly way to ease
them in slowly, these posters are not effective to an older audience as they might feel
like my poster are childish and take no interest into them and this is why I created a
different style of poster more aimed at the older side of my audience 16-18 years olds.
For the LGBTQ+ community poster I aimed my content to be more upfront and personal
with my audience by asking them a question in my poster. This is effective to the
audience as it question there own views and gets them thinking. This is effective as not a
lot of other organizations do this and therefore I think this is a good way for my poster to
stand out against the rest and make people read it. This is aimed at the older side and
these young epople are more likely to have views and big matter than children therefore
making this poster more effective and appropiete for them.
What impact do you think your advertising campaign will have on the public?
I believe my advertising campaign will have lots of different outcomes but mainly positive, one of the
outcomes will be educational. The public will be more educated by my campaign as one of my poster on
mental health is a infographic; a poster that is full of facts and figures to inform an audience. This poster
includes lots of information on mental health such as facts and statistics on how many people surfer from it
and tips on how and where to get help. People reading this poster will be educated on the serious problem
mental health has on the world leaving a big impact on them as they will walk away knowing more and
hopefully feel more encouraged to get involved and help. Its also good as they can use this information and
facts to tell others and educate them spreading more awareness about mental health.
my main website for the campaign will have a positive impact on public as this is a place where people can
go and get help if they think they are suffering with mental health. On the website there is information on
mental health and where to get help, there is a link to a health clinic for more serious issues and a blog that’s
shows the person the progress and success of other people that have got help from the organizations. This
will leave a positive impact on the person as they can walk away from the website knowing they have got
help or just learned more about mental health, but even if they don’t get help as they are not ready just
reading the stories of the other person will make them feel more positive as it will shows them life can get
better and they wont feel like this forever if they get help.
My merchandise will have an impact maybe not on the person themselves who are wearing it but the people
around them this is because the people around them will see the logo being worn spreading awareness of
the cause to anyone who sees but also on the red hoodie the slogan ” why are we still talking about this?”
will have a big impact on the public as It will question the reader about the situation getting them to think
about it themselves. This is a really useful way to change the attitudes of the audience as after thinking of it
they might change their mind and it also a good way to make the audience think of the situation even after
looking at the poster therefore raising awareness even after people have seen the poster.
What are the technical and aesthetic qualities of your work?
For my logo I wanted to create something that resembles a flower so I started by
going to shape a picking something that most looks like a petal. To make them
resemble a flower I just the warp tool to drag the bottom and top of the flower into
more of a pointed shape. After creating row of the petal I wanted to put small petal in
the inside to make it look like it was opening and you could see the inside. I did the
same thing again but put a stroke onto the petal to give it a white outline to it
separates the first yet of petal apart. For the smaller petal I also changed the colour to
a light version of the original petal so they all stood out more and didn't’t blend
together. This makes it aesthetically pleasing as it makes it look like a real flower and
most people find flowers very pretty therefore when they see the logo they are most
likely to like it and think it looks good. For the font I wanted it to be elegant with flicks
at the end and fine text instead of massive bold text. I chose this type to it was more
relaxing and nice to look at, as big bold text can sometime be too much and
overpower the logo. I went with the text “letters for leaners”. I decided to placed the
picture in different places of the text to see which one looked the best. I went with
the flower over the I as it look liked the I was the stalk for the flower so it fitted really
well together. After placing everything it write position, I felt like the text still wasn’t
how I wanted it. It did not stand out enough and I didn't’t think it would catch the
audience eye, so I decided to make the text white and put a blue stroke over it so it
stood out more and made the text a bit bigger. I put the text in pastel blue and pink
but I have decided to go with the blue as the flower has pink in to the text blended in
to much; blue has not been use in the flower therefore stands out against it.
What are the technical and aesthetic qualities of your work?
For bus banner I decided to chose pinks and blue for my colour scheme as the blue
stands out against the white and red buses allowing people to see it better but also blue
conveys peacefulness and calmness therefore the people who read my banner will feel
calm instead of it being black and red and standing out too much creating a sense of
force to read it. In the beginning I decided to use the tree from my poster on mental
health as this will link my products together in the campaign making it more recognizable
for the audience to know what is about as they might of seen it on the poster. This
didn't’t help the poster for the people who haven't seen the campaign before as it
didn't’t show any information about what this could be about as a tree could mean
anything, so I decided to use a head with a tree coming out of it to represent growth of
the person dealing with mental health. By using the brain in the advert its showing
people an idea about the cause as it must have something to do with you mind and this
links it with the logo that’s next to it. At first I separated the “you are not alone” with the
“stop.brethe.call” with a grey line to create a pause when the audience is reading it so
they could breathe and think about what there going do as I want my to make sure my
audience are calm and in a right mind set when making decisions, but this did not look do
good as the grey didn't’t match the colour scheme. I then went on and changed the grey
line to a branch to match the tree growing out of the mind, this helped with the colour
scheme as it match and also linked in with the theme I was creating this made it
aesthetically pleasing as the whole poster matched and linked together making it nicer to
look at and more pleasing. On the right hand side of the advert I added the campaign
logo so people could see out company and who we are and I also added and phone
number and website for people to visit and call incase they need help when reading the
advert or write it down for later use incase they do not this campaign again.

  • 2. Are your finished pieces fit for their intended purpose? The purpose I wanted these posters to get across is to bring local change to the community by presenting lots of information about the illness on my infographics posters to allow people to learn more about it and to help change the way people think about the illness and let them known it more serious so hopefully they think about it more and get involved. On the other posters I wanted to change attitudes of the audience by questioning them about the problem such as LGBTQ+ by asking them “why are we still talking about this?” to encourage them to ask them self's why are they still bothered about this or why other people are to get them to think about the cause and maybe think about how they could change. My finished poster are fit for their purpose as everything I attended turned out correct, I fitted all the information on the infographics for people to read and kept the other poster minimalistic so they just focus on the question. A company that focus on the LGBT community called LGBT foundation made a similar poster to raise awareness but for a different audience, they have focused on the LGBTQ community providing them information where they can get in touch if they need help. They have showed this by putting their number on the poster and address so people can get in touch. This is different to mine as I am focusing on the people that aren't Gay and lesbian to change their attitudes and to create strength in the community and have done this though my work and their work is fit for their purpose just for their audience. My finished bus advert main purpose is to raise awareness about mental health and I have done this by putting a phone number on their and my website to allow people to ring up and get help. I also included a slogan “you are not alone stop, breathe, call ….” to calm the person down reading it if they are in a difficult situation to make them more likley to ring up and get help as this is this purpose. My last piece of work is my merch and the intended purpose for them is to make revenue by selling the erch that doesnt havw to much to to with provinding information or rasing awareness as this allows me to put the money back into the orgaziation such as the advertisng to raise awaress. Another aim with this merch is to promote their organzation by putting the logo on the clothing and accesories so people that see the merch can see where its from and can go to the webstie to gain more information, the purpose is to encourge more people to wear the merch as an everyday iteam of clothing as the hoodie and t-shirts and quite simple and can be used everyday rather than just promting mental health and by doing this it will help gain sales as more people would rather buy them if they can get more out of them.
  • 3. Do they communicate your message clearly? I believe my logo communicates my message clearly because of the text and images I have used. The logo name is ”open minded” I decided to call it this to make it clear about what this organization is about, the minds. The cause is about mental health and how to deal with it so by calling it open minded it is showing the audience that this has something to do with opening the mind and this usually relates to mental health. Also to support this I have create a flower that I have placed of the I, I created this to show that the flower is opening up to relate to the text in the logo to make it more clear to what this organization is about. My questionnaire mainly supports this with 83% saying yes that the logo is clear about mental health, this shows me that most people will understand what this is trying to promote but the other 17% that didn’t know what it was will still be able to know what this originations is as this logo will be placed on posters with more information about mental health. My two posters promoting the LGBTQ+ community my message is communicated very well with 100% of the audience answering yes to be able to understand the problem that I am trying to get across in the poster. This shows that all the people that viewed the poster have a clear understanding about the message. With this poster I asked the audience a question about why we are still talking about this but with no context to what the subject is that we are talking about. I made this un clear on purpose to get the audience to think about the problem and what it could be, I add colours and extra text to help the audience get a better understanding such as the multi-colored “still” and background as this is the LGBTQ+ community flag so this represent them and itis very famous so lots of people know what it is therefore allowing them to understand the purpose of the poster. This is backed up in the comments of the questionnaire with two people saying that the colours and extra text below that states facts about the LGBTQ+ helped them figure out the problem. This shows that the extra art of the poster are really important for getting the message across clearly. For my bus banner I believe the message I am trying to get across could not be as clear as it could be. For example in the feedback I received 50% of people said that they would change something about my logo and out of this 50% two people left comments underneath, these were really helpful as one person pointed out that breath was spelt wrong and that it should be spelt breathe. I did not notice this till I read back on the feedback and this has helped me a lot as I can now improve this work to make it more clear and this does not make sense right now. This shows that these questionnaire are really helpful as you can get the audience feedback and make improvements to suit their needs. Their are aspects' to the bus banner that clearly get the message across such as the phone number and website to allow the audience to see the organization we are so they can known what the cause is and I also used a picture of a mind to show the audience what it is about, mental health.
  • 4. Are they appropriate for your target audience? My target audience age range is between 11-18 children and teens from school to college. My target audience is quite young as my campaign targets at people with mental health in schools therefore my products have to be child friendly and appropriate for them. My audience are quite young and therefore I have to be sensitive in what I say on my products such as my posters and merch to make sure I do not offend them or scare them away. Mental health is not a massive thing that kids talk about and therefore when promoting my organization I need to make it simple and factual so it is easy for them to understand and read. My first poster is an infographic and this is appropriate for my target audience as it has not harsh images in or offensive content, its full of pretty calm pastel colours that are associated with young kids therefore they are more likely to notice it and like it then it being boring using black and whites. The layout of the poster is very simple making it easier fore the kids and student to read it and get the information they need. I have used pictures of the things I am talking about to make it easier to locate the different types of information and to make it more interesting and young people do enjoy picture more than pages of plain text. Because my audience is very young this will be more difficult for them to come out and speak about their problems as they might feel embarrassed of scared therefore I went with pastel colours as I didn't’t want the colours being to harsh to look at I wanted to create a poster that was calm so the person reading could relaxed, this is why I chose to go for a pastel blue as the background as blue conveys with peace and this will help the audience feel peaceful when reading it. I create a tree as trees represent growth and strength. For the young side of my audience 11-14 I believe this poster might be to difficult for them and not interesting as there is a lot of text and therefore they might get bored reading it or might not be able to read that well. This poster is defiantly more for my older target audience and agree that I could of maybe created a similar poster but with less text for the younger audience but I did create a simple poster that is defiantly appropriate for my whole audience but for a different cause, LGBTQ+. For this poster I went with a more simplistic design to make sure this is suitable for my whole audience as there is not much writing making it easy for any age to understand. I also started of the poster with a question to intrigued the audience as young people can get bored and therefore the poster needs something on there to stand out to help grab their attention and using the a question as they walk past it will leave them thinking about it and possibly make them go back to the poster to get more information as they are interested. I created two different poster using two different colour schemes, I chose to do this to target both sides of my target audience. For the first poster I went simple using one bold colour for the background, blue with white text over the top as they complement each other nicely and the poster looks very neat and smart this defiantly is more appropriate for the older audience 15-18 as they start to come away from the bright colours and if they saw the other poster they might think it for children as it full of bright colour and is not very serious. The second poster is very colour with the background multi-colored to grab the children attention as they are more likely to be into bright colour therefore will find this more interesting and cooler to read.
  • 5. Are they appropriate for your target audience? A campaign for mental health and drug abuse target audience is more for the older generation, ages between 17-21 and their poster shows that their target audience is no younger as it very bold and eye opening by showing her mouth being torn away this is not appropriate for young ages as this could scare them away or make them more nervous about how there feeling as they might feel like they can’t talk or they will end up doing drugs compared to my poster that is more suitable for them as it calming and does not scare them as it use cartoon pictures and making it more pleasant to look at but this is appropriate for their target audience as people aged 17-21 are more likely to drugs therefore understand this poster more than a younger generation and relate more. My merchandise is varied for my audience as the different products are appropriate for the different ages. For example the hoodies are defiantly aimed more at the teens as they have very simple design and their purpose it to warm as an every day item more than to promote the brand. These are more appropriate for their age as teens are more likely care more about their style then children therefore will take more interest in the clothing and how it looks and giving it a simple design that doesn’t immediately link to mental health will encourage them to buy it more. Overall the clothing is appropriate for my target audience as there are not harmful pictures on their and offensive material meaning anyone can wear it and it will not offend anyone. The bucket hat is more aimed for the older side of my target audience and it more appropriate for them as bucket hat are quite popular in fashion right now making it more likely for the teens to buy it. Other items from my merchandise are appropriate for the young side for 11-14 years old as I sell stickers and badges these are more aimed at them because kids are more into stickers as they use them more than teens as they are classed a childish thing to them therefore they are not appropriate for them because they will not buy them. The badges are appropriate for my whole target audience as badges are used widely across the age range with it being popular to put them on your bag. The design is very simple with just a question mark making it child friendly for the kids to wear on their bags and not to childish for the teens to wear also.
  • 6. Compare and contrast your original intentions with the outcomes you arrived at. When I started my idea generation for my logo I wanted my logo to use pastel colours such as blues, pinks and yellows. I wanted to use these colours because I believe they are calm therefore the person reading could relaxed, this is why I wanted a blue as the main colour as blue conveys with peace and this will help the audience feel peaceful when seeing it. At first I designed my logo using yellows and pink but thought it looked to aim at women as these colour are classed as quite girly, so then I chose to re-designed it using pastel blue and use the yellows and pink as a flower instead, this looked so much better as blue represents peace and also is a colour that boy and girl usually both like but I still had the bright colours to help it stand out. For the font of the logo in my planning I chose 5 different fonts to chose from for my final design, I picked out these 5 as I thought these were the suitable for my audience and they looked very elegant, I didn't want them to be to bold and harsh to scare away any audience, I wanted it to be nice to look at. In the end result I chose to go “peace of mind”. My final design for my logo defiantly kept to my planning as I used everything I wanted to and planned, the planning really helped me stick to a schedule and helped me saved time as I had already picked my font and colours. Overall I am really happy with my end result of my logo and would not change anything. For my posters I planned them by creating a mind map, I did this as It helped me broaden my ideas as I could branch off them into more detail and it creates it in an well structured format making it easy to see my ideas when I want to come back to them. In my ideas I wanted to create a infographic to show lots of information about mental health. The three types of poster I wanted to create was about bullying, depression and the LGBTQ+ community, out of these 3 I only used two in the final outcome. This happen because I tried to create a poster on bullying and it didn’t turn out as planned because it didn’t look kid friendly enough and I could not fit as much information as I had hoped therefore the third poster I create was the same as the second one about the LGBTQ+ community but created it in two different colours. The LGBTQ+ poster did stick to the plan though, on the quote page were I had listed different Facts and slogan to put on my poster I sued two fro my final poster and the page came in handy as I didn’t have to waste more time looking for facts as I could just go back to this page and pick the ones that fit with my poster.
  • 7. How effective are the techniques you have used? For the font I wanted it to be elegant with flicks at the end and fine text instead of massive bold text. I chose this type as it was more relaxing and nice to look at, as big bold text can sometime be too much and overpower the logo and because my campaign is about mental health and targeted at a young age such as 11-18 year olds this is effective as it will be more easier for the young people to read and also more relaxing for them to read which is the point because if they are suffering from something the whole point of this campaign to make them calm down and get help. I also decided to make the text white and put a stroke over it in the colour pastel blue, I chose to do this to helps it stand out more and made the text a bit bigger. I have chosen a pastel blue for the logo because blue conveys peace, trust and confidence and that is what I want my audience to feel when they see my logo or come to my website. Open minded is an organization that helps people going through hard times so by using peaceful colour hopefully makes it a calm place for them to visit or look at. I have chosen the title “Open minded” as this is the message I want to get across to kids in school to be more open minded about situations, willing to consider new options such as getting help when their feeling low. I create flower petals and colored them all in different shades of pink red yellow and green. I wanted them to be different colours because I wanted it to stand out against the title as that’s a light blue and to stand out. This is effective as its shows that we are all different, open minded it a place for people to get help in any situation in school not just exam pressure and mental health the LGBT are welcome for any advice as the flowers are showing the LGBTQ flag colours to show the audience that we welcome anyone. On the bottom of my poster I added a section called where to get help, I did this is as it’s a good way to section off different parts of the poster this is a great way for the audience to find the right information really easily if they want to get straight to the point. Next to the text boxes I added a picture to make it easier for the audience to recognize where to get help. I used the Polygonal lasso tool cut out the doctor equipment and recreate my own cartoon version of this, and also did this for the rest of my images. Its also effective because its targeted at younger children and because there in quite a lot of writing putting in picture will make it easier for them to understand and also make it more interesting for them.
  • 8. How effective are the techniques you have used? I decided to create an outline of a head and brain. Inside the brain I placed the word open to link to my logo “open minded” I wanted the message to be clear to people when they read the poster that you need to be open minded and talk about it. I stuck with the head outline and added speech boxes in a semi circle around its head to make it look like it was talking this is effective as it shows the audience that its okay to talk about it and that you can talk about it, reassuring them. I then placed facts in the boxes to let people know the serious issue of mental health in teens and kids; to raise awareness of the subject. In the boxes I placed numbers from 1 to 6 to make it easier for the audience to follow the different facts in a simple way and to separate them instead of having one big text box of writing as this can bore the audience. I also made the boxes different colours to help stand out to the audience so they notice the facts as they are the most important part of the poster to get across as I am spreading awareness. I wanted the poster to flow so people can go from one section to the other so I used curved edges boxes and create 4 boxes filled with signs that show the audience if they could have mental health, I believe its important to put this on the poster as it beneficial for the audience as it allows them to understand the symptoms that they might not know they have. I then used circles to link the numbers to the box for the same reason as the facts above to make it simple for he audience to read it. For the colours I used the same colour I used for the facts around the head so it all fitted together. Using bright colours is a good way to put a positive spin on something that negative as it helps brighten people moods rather than using blacks and white it helps keep the positive vibe through the posters, its always a great way to catch audience attention as it bright and it likely to catch peoples eyes.
  • 9. How effective are the techniques you have used? For my second posted dedicated to the LGBTQ I chose from my lists of quotes and facts “Why are we still talking about this”. I chose to do this slogan because I wanted to question the reader about the situation to get them thinking about it themselves. This is a really useful way to change the attitudes of the audience as after thinking of it they might change their mind and it also a good way to make the audience think of the situation even after looking at the poster therefore raising awareness even after people have seen the poster. For the sub text I used facts from my facts pages to help the reader understand the issue that still lies with the LGBTQ community; to help spread awareness of the issue. I chose to go with black for the text t help it stand out against the multicolored background. For the facts there are some figure's that I wanted to make clear to the audience so I chose a yellow for them two words as that’s a very bright colour against the white and also put a stroke around them to help stand out even more to the audience to help them reader is easier. For the slogan I wanted to emphasis the ”still” to show the audience why this is still happening and it should have been over by now. For this I placed a gradient effect over the word and chose the colours of the LGBTQ flag so the audience would recognize the message we are talking about straight away without writing about it. To make it stand out even more I placed a black stroke over it to make the edges more defined and give the word more depth. For the subtext at the bottom of the poster there are some facts to inform the audience how serious this it to highlight this I made the “one” and “five “ in bright yellow to emphasis how many people are not talk about same sex relationships and by highlighting it in yellow it helps draw attention to it and to also helps this I put a stroke over it in black to help it stand out even more. Also at the bottom of the page I added the logo of the campaign and organization this is to also the audience to know where to go if they want any extra help or information but to also spread awareness of the brand and shows as many our logo as much so it hopefully becomes popular so this story does.
  • 10. How effective are the techniques you have used? For my bus banner I believe this is one of the most effective pieces I created for the slogan “you are not alone stop. breathe, call” This is a great way to connect with the audience and to help them when they are reading this. For example if they are feeling low by them reading your are not alone and then steps on what to do before calling will all them feel more calm before getting help and it encourages them to get help also. At first I separated the “you are not alone” with the “stop.brethe.call” with a grey line to create a pause when the audience is reading it so they could breathe and think about what there going do as I want my to make sure my audience are calm and in a right mind set when making decisions. I have chosen this symbol as the colours look really good against the black as it stands out a lot making it more visible for people walking past it to see; getting the company’s logo out there to more people helps spread awareness about the cause and hopefully brings in a new audience. On the front of the logo I have printed the logo quite small on the left hand side of the hoodie, this is because on my branded clothes such as Nike, Fred Perry and Lyle & scot they also have their logo on the left hand side and by making a piece of merchandise similar to them will make it more fashionable for the person to wear and making them more likely to buy it. I have also put the logo on the back on the hoodie but much bigger then the logo on the front of the hoodie this is to make it more clear for people walking past to see it and its also gives the hoodie more on a edgy look rather than it being boring and this is effective as it will suit my audience likes and interests. I also created badges, hats and stickers to help spread the awareness of the campaign. The stickers are effective as when people use them it will help spread the message across and because I have used a question people will question the sticker and ask what it is about therefore creating a conversation about the cause and it allow the person to educate the person who asked on the cause.
  • 11. How effective are the techniques you have used? I created a website for my campaign as this Is where all my advertising and merchandise are prompting. This website is a place for people to come and get help. At the beginning of the website I added a helpful quote to help brighten the mood of the person who is reading as they are likely feeling down. I added an “about” section to the website to inform the audience about this website and organization and what we do and how we help you, this is effective as it will help the audience know if they are eon the right website or not and if this is for them. We also have a blog attached to the website when people can see the progress we make and the events we do to give them a more in depth idea on the work we do and how its helps people as this will encourage them to talk to use more if they see the success of others. There are separate links on the website to different parts such as the “mental health center” for people who want to find more information about their mental health and how they can help for that. The “health clinic’ for people who think they could be something wrong with them and also a ”donation page” for people who don’t have mental heath but want to contribute to the campaign. I have done this to make it easy for people to find exactly what they are looking for instead of pages of writing about something they don’t need. On the website I have also included the merchandise as this I where people would have to buy it but for the preview I added the most popular item, new item and trending item to let the audience know about the best and newest merch so they are up to date. Lastly at the bottom of the website there is a contact page for more questions if they have not found what they are looking for on the website. I have included this as it shows the audience that we are there for them beyond this website and this is effective as it reassures them that there is help for them.
  • 12. How effective are the techniques you have used? Looking through my research in question 4 ‘would you change anything about the posters?” 83% of people said no showing that the majority of the audience liked the posters and agree that there's nothing they would add. 17% of people said that they would change it but did not leave a comment not allowing me to see that they would change but from this I can tell that most people are happy with the posters. For question 6 I asked the audience what they liked about the bus banner and we got responses such as “eye catching”, “works well with colours as it catches your eyes” and “effective as it shows that your there to help” this tells use that the colour we used were really effective as it help cached peoples eye therefore the information got put across to the audience and hopefully they were able to get help. Someone said it was “effective as it shows your there to help” this is really good as it tells use that people feel happy as they know they have someone there to help and this is the whole purpose of the campaign therefore it has worked. To see if my merchandise is effective due to its design and style I asked my audience if they would buy the merchandise based on the design and 100% said yes. This shows that my intentions of the merch worked at that people actually want to buy therefore wear it so the message will get spread across to even more people as people will see the logo and slogan on the merch. It also shows us that the design even though they were simple worked with the young audience and that I was right to go plain and not mention much about the campaign as it was more likely for young people to buy the clothing if it look nice and fitted in with the trends and is shown I the results. I also asked the audience what they like and do not like about the merchandise, and the feedback I got given include mostly positive feedback with people saying they “loved the merch” for its colours and position of the logo, this show the positional the logo in the same place other clothing brands do such as Fred Perry has paid off and been effective as people are pleased with the clothing. Another person also said they liked “the different options and the colours and that it is understated but still supporting a great cause” this shows us that the audience are happy with the design as it simple and they can wear it everyday but also pleased that they are contributing to a good cause and feel happy wearing it because of that.
  • 13. Is the content effective? My merchandise is effective to the audience as it is different to other organizations. Lots of merchandise that promote a cause focus on getting the message across very strongly on their clothing but with other merch we have gone for a different approach and decided to create something much more simple that doesn’t scream our company but rather an everyday piece of clothing. This is very effective as it isn't like other company's and our audience are much more likely to buy it because of this and because of the simplicity of the clothing as the can expect a good quality product that they can wear for a long time as it fashionable and can go with lots of outfits. But there also impacts the audience will have buy wearing these clothes as it does help spread awareness on mental health so they will be encouraging people to speak more about it and also helping people around them by showing them wear to if they need help as the logo and name of the campaign in printed on the hoodies allowing people walking past the to know where to get the hoodies from and also information on mental health. The merchandise is also effective as it will generate money from the sales of the clothing that can be put back into the camping to pay for the advertising to help get the message across meaning if the clothing don’t spread as much awareness as we had hoped because of the simple design the sales from the clothing fitting in more with the audience style can be used to promote the message in a different way such as a poster. To see if my content if effective to the public I asked a series of questions about my merch. I asked my audience if they would buy the merchandise based on the design and 100% said yes. This shows that my intentions of the merch as it shows us that the design even though they were simple worked with the young audience and that I was right to go plain and not mention much about the campaign as it was more likely for young people to buy the clothing if it look nice and fitted in with the trends and is shown In the results. This is also backed up as people left comments as to why the liked the merchandise and the most popular responses was the design and colours used showing us that they would buy the merch based on the design and also one person said that even though it was simple ‘that It understated but still supporting a great cause” telling us the design doesn’t need to be big and bold and that people can still support a good cause buy just buying the merch proving my content I effective.
  • 14. Is the content effective? An example of how my posters content is effective are the colours I have used. For 3 posters I have used bright colours such as pinks, blues, yellows and reds. I have done this to make them stand out to the crowd to encourage them to read it as it will be more clear from a distance. This makes my poster different to other campaign as lots of organizations like to go for a more serious touch to show the real issue in mental health but what makes my content more effective and causes people to see my poster more is that they are full or happy colours and life. There are no dull colours or sad images on my posters , they are there to make the person reading them feel more happy and more comfytable. For example of a camping created a poster using bight red a colour that conveys negatively and anger already making the person reading feel unsure something I am trying to create with mine. They have also used a picture of a sad person, these types of images are effective for their audience as this is aimed at an older audience someone who can deal with this straight forward method but this wouldn't’t be effective to my audience as my audience are young and sensitive and something like this might put them off talking about it as therefore my poster are more effective towards them as they I use colours that they enjoy and instead of scaring them with the reality of mental health. I try encourage them to get help by showing them facts written in a friendly way to ease them in slowly, these posters are not effective to an older audience as they might feel like my poster are childish and take no interest into them and this is why I created a different style of poster more aimed at the older side of my audience 16-18 years olds. For the LGBTQ+ community poster I aimed my content to be more upfront and personal with my audience by asking them a question in my poster. This is effective to the audience as it question there own views and gets them thinking. This is effective as not a lot of other organizations do this and therefore I think this is a good way for my poster to stand out against the rest and make people read it. This is aimed at the older side and these young epople are more likely to have views and big matter than children therefore making this poster more effective and appropiete for them.
  • 15. What impact do you think your advertising campaign will have on the public? I believe my advertising campaign will have lots of different outcomes but mainly positive, one of the outcomes will be educational. The public will be more educated by my campaign as one of my poster on mental health is a infographic; a poster that is full of facts and figures to inform an audience. This poster includes lots of information on mental health such as facts and statistics on how many people surfer from it and tips on how and where to get help. People reading this poster will be educated on the serious problem mental health has on the world leaving a big impact on them as they will walk away knowing more and hopefully feel more encouraged to get involved and help. Its also good as they can use this information and facts to tell others and educate them spreading more awareness about mental health. my main website for the campaign will have a positive impact on public as this is a place where people can go and get help if they think they are suffering with mental health. On the website there is information on mental health and where to get help, there is a link to a health clinic for more serious issues and a blog that’s shows the person the progress and success of other people that have got help from the organizations. This will leave a positive impact on the person as they can walk away from the website knowing they have got help or just learned more about mental health, but even if they don’t get help as they are not ready just reading the stories of the other person will make them feel more positive as it will shows them life can get better and they wont feel like this forever if they get help. My merchandise will have an impact maybe not on the person themselves who are wearing it but the people around them this is because the people around them will see the logo being worn spreading awareness of the cause to anyone who sees but also on the red hoodie the slogan ” why are we still talking about this?” will have a big impact on the public as It will question the reader about the situation getting them to think about it themselves. This is a really useful way to change the attitudes of the audience as after thinking of it they might change their mind and it also a good way to make the audience think of the situation even after looking at the poster therefore raising awareness even after people have seen the poster.
  • 16. What are the technical and aesthetic qualities of your work? For my logo I wanted to create something that resembles a flower so I started by going to shape a picking something that most looks like a petal. To make them resemble a flower I just the warp tool to drag the bottom and top of the flower into more of a pointed shape. After creating row of the petal I wanted to put small petal in the inside to make it look like it was opening and you could see the inside. I did the same thing again but put a stroke onto the petal to give it a white outline to it separates the first yet of petal apart. For the smaller petal I also changed the colour to a light version of the original petal so they all stood out more and didn't’t blend together. This makes it aesthetically pleasing as it makes it look like a real flower and most people find flowers very pretty therefore when they see the logo they are most likely to like it and think it looks good. For the font I wanted it to be elegant with flicks at the end and fine text instead of massive bold text. I chose this type to it was more relaxing and nice to look at, as big bold text can sometime be too much and overpower the logo. I went with the text “letters for leaners”. I decided to placed the picture in different places of the text to see which one looked the best. I went with the flower over the I as it look liked the I was the stalk for the flower so it fitted really well together. After placing everything it write position, I felt like the text still wasn’t how I wanted it. It did not stand out enough and I didn't’t think it would catch the audience eye, so I decided to make the text white and put a blue stroke over it so it stood out more and made the text a bit bigger. I put the text in pastel blue and pink but I have decided to go with the blue as the flower has pink in to the text blended in to much; blue has not been use in the flower therefore stands out against it.
  • 17. What are the technical and aesthetic qualities of your work? For bus banner I decided to chose pinks and blue for my colour scheme as the blue stands out against the white and red buses allowing people to see it better but also blue conveys peacefulness and calmness therefore the people who read my banner will feel calm instead of it being black and red and standing out too much creating a sense of force to read it. In the beginning I decided to use the tree from my poster on mental health as this will link my products together in the campaign making it more recognizable for the audience to know what is about as they might of seen it on the poster. This didn't’t help the poster for the people who haven't seen the campaign before as it didn't’t show any information about what this could be about as a tree could mean anything, so I decided to use a head with a tree coming out of it to represent growth of the person dealing with mental health. By using the brain in the advert its showing people an idea about the cause as it must have something to do with you mind and this links it with the logo that’s next to it. At first I separated the “you are not alone” with the “stop.brethe.call” with a grey line to create a pause when the audience is reading it so they could breathe and think about what there going do as I want my to make sure my audience are calm and in a right mind set when making decisions, but this did not look do good as the grey didn't’t match the colour scheme. I then went on and changed the grey line to a branch to match the tree growing out of the mind, this helped with the colour scheme as it match and also linked in with the theme I was creating this made it aesthetically pleasing as the whole poster matched and linked together making it nicer to look at and more pleasing. On the right hand side of the advert I added the campaign logo so people could see out company and who we are and I also added and phone number and website for people to visit and call incase they need help when reading the advert or write it down for later use incase they do not this campaign again.
