Circles of Faith

A future concept by Rahul Sen
Faith is ubiquitious in India,
and many parts of the World
The Challenge
  To unearth alternatives to
computers and mobile devices
to empower people in digitally
       excluded areas.

The objective is communication.

    The inspiration is from
  ubiquitious acts of faith and
          connectivity.
The Users
Digitally excluded.
Little or no access to computers.
Family members dislocated.
Illiterate.
Paper prototypes
Several paper prototypes were made to
test the interaction between such a
‘bracelet’ and a ‘prayer wheel’.

test the interaction between such a
‘bracelet’ and a ‘prayer wheel’.
Experience prototype
Models were used to test and
think through various modes of
triggering inputs. Tilt, press, heat,
vibration, tapping and other
modes of input were tested.

Introducing the Bracelet
Introducing the Bracelet
Wheel
Similar to a SIM card, the Wheel links
the bracelet to a Hub or a source.
Wheels have OLED surfaces with
inscriptions similar to the ones on the
parent bracelet.

           Bracelet
Similar to a Mobile Phone, the Wheel
                  links
the bracelet to a Hub or a source.
Wheels have OLED surfaces with
inscriptions similar to the ones on the
parent bracelet.

Communication is possible with
docked Wheels to any of the parent
Bracelets
                                          Community wheel
This is a family of all the parent
wheels of bracelets . They stack up
and act as message boards for the
entire community that is docked to the
                                          base.
Wheel

                    Dock
Like the trunk of tree, the dock axle is
the tie between all the Wheels and
Bracelets that are shared by a
community.

                    Base
This is the power supply of the
experience.

This project would have not been possible without
the help of:

Jose ‘Pepe’ Ledon (3d modelling and rendering)
Antonio Aguilar (Foam modelling)
Vanessa Sattele (Painting)
Camille Moussette (Experience prototyping)

My college mates especially Vittorio, Annika, Sara
Tunheden, Helle, Donato, and Stina for their
support and ideas.

Most importantly, Thank you Caroline for being
my rock.
